We were given a room upgrade to something more akin to an apartment. Soooo spacious and very very comfortable. Beautiful ambience in the hotel and the staff were exceptionally helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and it was totally amazing. Make sure you give it a go if you are staying here. The whole place is perfectly lovely. It is only a short walk through the park to an underground thoroughfare that means you can avoid busy roads. From there you enter a large modern mall attached to the main train station Krakow Glowny so it is extremely convenient. The hotel is behind the city walls in the old town itself. Good lift so no need to climb stairs (but they are so beautiful you'll probably give it a go anyway at least once). There is a gorgeous bar too if you like that kind of thing - we tend not to drink so we were happy it was tucked away. I did peek in once to check it out - it has all the old world cool character vibes you'd expect in a classy establishment like this.

The only issues we had were a door that we couldn't figure out how to lock and the pillows were too flat. Both rectified immediately when staff were asked about it. You would have a hard time finding anything not to like in this gem of a place. We could have happily stayed for a week.

Nothing .. only our garbage in the room was not taken the day before arrival.. We were outside all day long so it didn’t bother us a lot. We didn’t complain about it because we were very tired and went to sleep..

This is our first time at this hotel and I really hope we will come back here again. Perfect location to enjoy the old town and Krakow in general. Lovely staff, helpful with everything you need. Great breakfast. We were in an apartment on the fourth floor. It was perfect. The kids really enjoyed playing snooker in the lobby. Highly recommended. The hotel is in the old city but was quiet. Very clean and very inviting. Thank you very much for a wonderful vacation.

Even if I want to look for something bad, I can't find it.

The property is beautiful and conveniently located with old world charm and modern conveniences. The staff was amazing and went above and beyond to help us coordinate with the tour company for a trip to Auschwitz when the schedule was unexpectedly disrupted. They found us private transportation for the tour so we would be able to make our flight out in time. The breakfast is beyond compare and we enjoyed playing pool in the lobby area. We've been to many hotels throughout Europe over the years, and Francuski was one of the absolute best. I would encourage anyone visiting Krakow to stay here and I wouldn't hesitate to come back!

There is nothing that could have been better. Everything from the room comfort to the food quality to the hospitable service was outstanding!

Although from my perspective, the promo pictures indicated the hotel was on or very close to Old Town Square, so there was an initial bit of disappointment. However, once over that the hotel is definitely in Old Town and was great. We wanted a hotel with grace and character and we got it. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and nicely appointed. The restaurant and the lounge were welcoming and offered good service, good food and beverages. The hotel is actually under a 10 minute walk to the Old Town Square, which is amazing and full of history, and getting there you walk through other parts of Old Town Krakow. We will definitely rebook the Francuski Hotel if we are back in Krakow. Don't miss the Old Town underground tour.

I was very pleased. I don’t think I realised just how stylish and fun the decor was from the initial pictures on the listing but the location was great so we booked. The place was super cool. The hotel was really fun and a nice mix of old world and stylish modern accents with the decor. It’s super central. Right in the heart of the city. Feels very safe. The buildings around it are absolutely beautiful. You are a very short walk from the pedestrianised city centre which is beautiful in the day or the night. It felt very safe and there were tonnes of things to do right on the doorstep. In fact we arrived at the hotel and without even checking in were recommended a wonderful restaurant a mere 10 second walk from the front door which turned out to be a wonderful experience on its own. Very handy as we were starving. The hotel staff were always on hand and very helpful. We are coming back later this year and will definitely be staying there again. They organised a terrific car service that made arrival and departure very seamless. I think Krakow is our new favourite city and it’s due in no small part to the excellent front of house staff, the the quality of the food in the restaurant and the overall comfort of the room. Very relaxed and will definitely recommend!

I don’t think there was anything I didn’t like about the property. I might say if you have a car you might be struggling to find a car parking space but we didn’t have a car so it didn’t bother us one bit.

The hotel is in an excellent location and very close to Krakow’s main square. It has a certain elegant,old world charm and has been tastefully decorated. Our room was spacious with a seperate living area and a big bathroom with a walk-in shower. Towels were replaced daily. Despite its location, the area is very quiet and we had absolutely no problems with noise during the 4 nights we stayed there. Staff are polite and helpful. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast. Guests can choose from a buffet of cold cuts, cheeses, bread, cakes, cereals, jams etc. Morever, guests can order one hot dish from the breakfast menu which includes savoury and sweet items. The eggs benedict are simply divine!!!

Pros: great location in the heart of old Krakow, everything within walking distance. Amazing old building, allows you to really touch history. Overall a good hotel, great restaurant which is definitely worth a visit. Quite varied breakfast, good quality. Very professional staff. Tours and trips can be organized directly from the hotel, which is convenient.

My room was ok but not great, quite small and the windows overlooked the wall. The bed was quite hard and after the first couple of nights my back hurt. A big minus is the cleaning of the room, to be honest there was dirt in many places and it was obvious that some parts of the room had not been touched for a long time. The housekeeping staff never vacuumed the carpet in my room during my entire stay. Very weak AC, the room was often stuffy, but you have to make allowance for the fact that the building is old. Another important point specifically for me, I don’t know about others, I think it is unacceptable for a 5-star hotel to have flies swarming on the plates with food at breakfast. This really puts off your appetite and does not look worthy of a hotel with such an excellent reputation.

The beautiful architectural details in the hotel , the wonderful staff, the best breakfast we had while traveling for 7 weeks in Europe! The hotel is well located inside the old city walls, easily walkable to the old town, or the train station. The room was quiet, the bed comfortable. Breakfast is in the restaurant downstairs . While there is a buffet on offer, breakfast also included a menu for cooked items. These were exceptionally tasty, as they are cooked to order.

Not a problem for us, but the hotel is located inside the walls of the old city. Therefore you need a permit to bring in a car. We booked a tour to Zakopane which was supposed to include hotel pickup, but they did not as the hotel was inside the walls. We had to walk to the meeting point. This is really the fault of the tour operator, not the hotel. As the hotel booked a taxi to take us to the airport, and he picked us up at the door.

One slight criticism of an other wise superb stay, we had a double room which appeared to be two singles pushed together which was fine, the beds were substantial and acted as a double, but the head boards were fixed to the wall and didn't align with the bed. Consequently the light switch between the head boards which has a protruding type of switch was directly in line with the middle of my pillow and at head height! As a result I was frequently jabbing my head against the light switch. Apart from that really enjoyed the hotel and the staff were exemplary
