The houses are set-up like in the olden days and you feel like you are stepping back in time. Definitely a unique experience! There is a bathroom with running water and a kitchen downstairs from the bedroom that are more modern, so you aren't completely roughing it. But in the main sleeping room, the ambience feels very rustic. It feels like you are living in a different era, although there is electricity (though most outlets are downstairs) and an air conditioner (though it isn't very powerful and can't fully keep up with the heat). The breakfast is also amazing and has a full range of local cheeses, breads, meats, and jams with lots of good, strong coffee. :-) It's a memorable experience and worth spending a night!

I don't think I would recommend dinner at the restaurant, or at least I would recommend skipping the alcatra, which is their specialty dish. It's essentially a lot of stewed meat (no veggies), with bread. It was around 30 euro (2 people) for a massive vat of meat, but it's impossible to eat all of it. If you can find someplace that serves this in smaller portions for a cheaper price, I would recommend that. (Or just skipping it all together. Every island in the Azores seems to have their own version of a stewed meat dish, and they all taste very similar.) We enjoyed the appetizers at the restaurant, and they had some soup options which we didn't try. If you do eat at the restaurant, I would recommend ordering these lighter options unless you really enjoy stewed meat.

This is an amazing place, you must stay here if visiting Terceira! Whole village, including architectural, gastronomic, ethnographic and cultural evolution of the island of Terceira. You can see different handcraft workshops as they used to be, you can se farming, orchards, chicken, you sleep in different houses. At arrival you get a map and then you explore the village. It is amazing how every detail is made with affort. You are transported back in time, but keeping all the luxury of the modern times. Amazing breakfast and great traditional restaurant on site. Kind staff, nice rooms and pool. Top stay!!!!

Everything was amazing!

A perfect stay at a unique property that allows one to experience the early island life, but still have modern conveniences. The property is very clean and well kept. The owner takes pride in his island heritage and this property allows you an immersive and educational experience without sacrificing amenities. Do not miss having some meals at the restaurant. I would highly recommend this property to all travelers.

Basic bkfst, lacked variety & fresh fruits. It could be improved. Facility lacks seats or benches to sit outside. Pool wasn’t clean. A little overpriced for what it offers. No grocery or restaurants around within walking distance except hotel restaurant

A very nice place, but it has to state somewhere that this is almost like a museum from the Azores about 100 years ago. The rooms was very nice and clean. The owner is a bit excentric, but very nice and will try to help you with whatever you need :)

Gilberto and staff are the nicest people. The place is has historical museum aspect, but it’s also just fun tranquil Quinta. It invites you to be outside, take a walk and escape. Also the dinner felt like home, so good!

You need a car to get to town which is fine if you want a little escape. I would recommend getting a car anyway bc all the good stuff are spread out all over the island

They very very nice and accommodated all our needs it was just for one night and we were in and out fast hopefully next time we came we’ll make time to do the tour and end it a little more besides that it was wonderful we all them the whole house the wood work it was just beautiful thank you very much

Nothing everything was wonderful

It was an interesting and great experience. It helped us understand and learn about farm life in the Azores. Gilberto, the owner is very passionate about his concept and we enjoyed being there. The food was excellent and very filling.

Like old small houses, recreate old way of living but with modern facilities. The restaurante is amazing and we had the best diner in the island.

A bit like sleeping in a museum…
