The room was very big and the terrace is a wonder bonus point with an ocean view. The pool and jacuzzi are also nice bonuses to this hotel. The personnel was nice. Very good breakfast.

It seems like for such a big hotel they are lacking a bit of stuff. The gym was not functional. The cleaning lady once came at 9 a.m when we were still sleeping, so since we said no for cleaning at that time, the room was not cleaned during the day at all.

The location of the hotel is perfect, right at the harbor, and a short walk from the downtown area. The hotel has great facilities: a swimming pool, a sauna, a steamroom -- and the last two are only 15 euros a person, a great deal. The breakfast is magnificent: half a dozen raw vegetables so you can make your own salad, half a dozen grilled or stewed vegetables, such as zuchini and mushrooms and tomatoes, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, smoked salmon, 10 different kinds of breads, excellent local cheeses, a slice of quiche, a muesli corner, half a dozen pieces of fresh fruits, et cetera et cetera. Helpful staff. A 10-minute walk takes you to the Monte Brasil nature reserve, which is great for long walks with a 200-meter climb if you want to. Spectacular views from the top of the city and the ocean. I even saw a family of wild deer. The downtown area is UNESCO World Heritage and rightly so. Quite a few facilities for such a small town.

The breakfast coffee from the machine is absolutely terrible, but there is a pasteleria around the corner for real coffee. The entrance is at the 8th floor, so there is generally a bit of a climb if you return to the hotel. But, well, this is a volcanic island.

The view was 5*. Absolutely stunning and completely fascinating watching the harbour and all the comings and goings. The balcony allowed for a superb view. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom and regularly cleaned. The pool is a good size, with a small outdoor area in the sun. The bar is a quiet area with a simple menu at reasonable prices. We enjoyed this space in the evenings and the staff were very friendly. We did not visit the island on holiday and this hotel offered us a place for contemplation at a very sad time.

The hotel is tired in places and would benefit from a spruce up as this detracts from other elements which are lovely and high quality. The hotel is on a steep hill and parking can be tricky on the road.

Every room has an amazing ocean view, as well as the rooftop of course. All common areas of this large hotel have beautiful marble. A generous breakfast is included! Linens and towels are good quality. Excellent value in low season. (Not sure what they charge in high season).

If having a double or queen bed is important, you need to pay for an upgrade. Otherwise, two single beds are pushed together…but they are very comfortable. Also, there is no coffee maker in the room. The curtains need to be retrofitted. (Because the ceiling is so high, the current system results in the curtains partially coming off the rods.)

Great location with nice views. Breakfast was superb. Most of staff were very friendly, while a few were disgruntled.

We were suppose to get a junior suite with our Bookings reservation, but we received a regular room, which was stark… bits of furniture here and there. We wouldn’t have complained but the shower was leaking all over wc. And drapes in main room were missing hooks, so impossible to close properly, letting in a lot of light at night. Anyway we complained and we got UPGRADED to a beautiful suite. (Maybe the one we were originally suppose to have).

A well equipped and central stay in Angra do Heroismo. The hotel features stunning sea views in every room and a tasty and well equipped breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful and assist with requests. The night staff are particularly helpful and kind and the spa baths were a particular highlight.

As a 5* hotel, a few finishing touches are missing to have made this stay a truly 5* experience - greeting guests as they enter, providing a sample of tea/ coffee in the room, providing extra pillows as standard and making the stay feel truly special.

We stayed in a spacious and spotless room with a comfortable bed and great amenities. The highlight was the beautiful balcony overlooking the sea, absolutely stunning. Breakfast was perfect, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. The reception staff were efficient, helpful, and genuinely kind. This could have easily been a 10/10 stay with a few simple fixes.

Wifi is very poor (surprising for 2025) & our key card didn’t work for three days, requiring staff to unlock the door each time.

Great view well located and very clean.

The yung lady at the front desk at 2:55 pm gave us a hard time to check in saying the room was not clean ,than checke and said ( it just got ready) gave us the room card no explanation about the facilities or the breakfast times or room it was the guy that came in on duty after her that was kind enough to tell us about everything.

Great localization, the room was quite big, and bathroom had both bathtub and shower! Also staff was always really nice and helpful. With brekfast included the value for money was amazing.

The Hotel sure could use some improvements. For example there was only one elevator working during our stay but we were on vacation and we weren’t really bother by that.

clean modern facility

parking lot is very difficult to get in and out of. We just found parking on the street. Breakfast was decent, good selection of food but coffee was terrible! Coffee machine quality Room (we had a junior suite) very spacious and clean but light switch remote control was finicky and not always easy to use.
