All! We were here for ten days and we really enjoyed it! Rodolfo gave us a very warm welcome. He was always open to all questions. Maria is the good soul of the house. She prepared breakfast with a lot of love. Rodolfo specially bought vegan products, which is not a given here in the Azores. The hotel garden is beautiful. You can relax by the swimming pool. Everything was very clean. The hotel has enough parking spaces. The very nice beach bar, where you can also eat, and the highly recommended restaurant Fim do Seculo are within walking distance. The town of Maia is very pretty and conveniently located for all kinds of excursions.

We liked the house and the garden and pool. The breakfast was delicious. It was interesting to see the old kitchen and dining room...a bit like traveling back in time. We also loved the classical music in the library.

We missed the finishing touch...fresh flowers in the interior, for example. The modern paintings don't fit with the rest of the furniture, curtains etc. The black plastic chairs destroy the beautiful facade. We suggest to decorate the library with dried hydrangeas, plant more fresh flowers in the entrance area and replace the black plastic chairs and the modern drawings and the plastic flowers in the entrance hall.

We were welcomed by Rod in a beautiful impeccable clean property. The main house has a lot to offer in term of character and history. Our room was very pleasant and had all facilities. The grounds were beautiful and the breakfast was very generous. What made the stay special is the quality of the service with Rod and his staff attentive to anything we needed. The room was cleaned everyday. This is a perfect location to access a variety of activities and a good access to ponta Delgada, Furnace and the North East of the island. We would definitely recommend this property.

Loved it all

I had an exceptionally positive stay at this hotel. From the very start, the experience was wonderful. The rooms were beautifully prepared each day by the housekeeping staff, ensuring everything was always spotless and comfortable. The property itself, a grand manor house, was expansive and lovely to explore. On sunny mornings, we had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast outdoors. The breakfast itself was delicious, offering fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, a variety of breads, excellent coffee, water, juices, different types of cheese, and much more. However, what truly stood out and left a lasting impression was the hotel manager, Rod, from Brazil. He was incredibly helpful and always available to offer tips on what to do on the island, especially when it came to finding great places to eat. His kindness and hospitality made all the difference in our stay. Without a doubt, I’d give this place a perfect 10 out of 10!

The grounds were very nice and clean, the pool was great, the bedrooms were very nice, nice bedding. the place was clean, overall we were extremely pleased with the Hotel, we had a group of 22 people and we had plenty of space in the hotel, nice kitchen and two lovely dining rooms. Beautiful architectual building and grounds. Our overall experience was definitely very good and would highly reccomend the property for a large group.

Good breakfast. The location is outside a small town which suited us, parking space is good (unusual on this island). Service is friendly and helpful. Feels like living in the country. Would recommend it highly to those not seeking to be in the capital city. Spacious room.

Absolutely beautiful, unique hotel and location. The breakfast was wonderful, with a bonus for enjoying this in the outdoor patio with a view of the garden. The receptionist/manager was able to make us feel comfortable and welcome right away. The room was nice, and it was great to have extra beach towels to use for our getaways. We also liked how we could easily walk to restaurants nearby and enjoy dinner. Great warm shower, and availability of hairdryer.

There was no wifi in the room. It would have been nice to have a slightly more spacious shower cabin, so the wet curtain wouldn’t stick to my legs.

Amazing fully renovated hotel in a fantastic location. The rooms are charming and cozy, offering a perfect retreat. Just a 10-minute walk away, you’ll find a beautiful balneo beach. The swimming pool is surrounded by a natural living fence, ensuring privacy and a serene atmosphere. Waking up to the sound of birds, enjoying a delicious breakfast, and then setting off to explore the island.

we loved the charming ancient place, the manager was so kind and nice, also the rest of the staff were helpful we LOVED the breakfast!!!!!!!! the location is good if you like being close to a small charming village on the coast very specious rooms and a private parking really makes a difference enjoy

This place is amazing. An old mansion with a beautiful big garden in a nice village near the ocean. The breakfast was really good with a lot of options. Very nice personnel, especially the manager Rod was really friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable. There is nothing negative to say. We just loved it.
