Everything about this hotel was amazing. It's quaint, quiet, located right along the sea and was an overall relaxing experience. The staff was amazing, the food in the restaurant great, and the room was very comfortable. Plenty of free parking if you have a car. Try the hottub overlooking the ocean! If you're going to stay on Saint Miguel, this is the place you should stay.

I don't really have any negative comments. Be nice if there was a beach. But the hotel doesn't control that. Other than that the perfect place.

THE STAFF! Sandra, Vincent’s and Joao went above and beyond during our stay! They gave us the best check in experience, ensured we were aware of all the amenities at the hotel (don’t miss out on the hot tub reservation after a long day of hiking) and helped us optimally plan our days. Their sincerity and service were unparalleled! The view and location are also incredible. Very easy to drive to several hikes, waterfalls, grocery stores and running trails. Not to mention the complimentary breakfast is outstanding!

Not staying their long enough

The location, view, amenities, AND staff were all amazing! But a special thank you to the staff for being lovely from the beginning to the end of our trip. Any question or request that we had, they answered it and went above and beyond. A special bonus included the phone they provided to help with daily excursions outside the hotel and orders while you're at the hotel; this was really appreciated. Our trip to São Miguelwas extra special thanks to the White Exclusive. Thank you! P.S. As someone who rented a car, there was plenty of parking for guests.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The view was gorgeous and the shared amenities were beautiful. We ate several meals at the hotel; the food was very good, particularly the cheese plate and sparkling sangria. A short walk from the resort was a lovely paved walking/running path along the water. We appreciated the extra touches like the "hut" you could reserve for your own use to do what you liked, such as yoga, meditation, a nap, etc. It provided privacy with sliding doors that opened to a fabulous view of the water. There was also a heated spa that we reserved on another evening. All of the staff spoke excellent English and many of the other guests were American, as are we. This hotel was written up in the New York Times which is how we found it. It was reviewed as sleek minimalism which is accurate. I'd add the views are breathtaking. We visited Lisbon, Cascais, Barcelona and this resort in the Azores - the Azores were our favorite part of the trip - a must see.

Hotel was in a good location. Our room was very well appointed and had fantastic ocean views and spectacular sunsets.The property was very clean and modern in style. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Although the hotel was very good we didn't think it was good value for money. The food was not exceptional and although we would be happy to pay extra for the more personal service the actual price difference was too great.

This is an exceptional location with stunning views. The staff is very attentive, the service is excellent and the food is outstanding including a beautiful breakfast menu. The property is very easy to get to and from with plenty of free parking. We would highly recommend this venue and hope to be back ourselves.

Staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The sounds of the ocean were magnificent when the doors were open and yet the room was quiet when the balcony doors were closed. Breakfast was delicious. I appreciated every day cleaning and it was exceptionally well-done. I was very grateful for the quick and quality dry cleaning service. The decor was stunning and supportive to the beauty of the island. A major highlight was my relaxation time with Ricardo - a light-filled Soul with a high-frequency vibe who gave me amazing insights.

The timing of the automatic lighting in the hallway on the second floor was slightly off. I also had a time getting up the stairs in the dark as there are no stair lights at night. I also needed more light in my room to do work. Luckily, a front desk person brought up an extra lamp which worked very well. I would recommend two more plug outlets under the counter near the television for plugging in a computer or charging a phone.

This hotel is a design jewel located almost halfway between Ponta Delgada and Lagoa, hence perfect for day excursions in São Miguel island. What makes this hotel so special is the meticulous and design-conscious use of local materials in a rough way (wabi-sabi). Everything in this hotel has high quality, the materials and the food to mention a few. What I liked the most in this hotel is the professionalism of the staff, yet so uncomplicated, light and easy-going. The room service was exceptionally good. Even the trainee at the reception, although in her third day, was doing great. General Manager Joao Almeida, congratulations for the great job training your team and providing your guests with the best service possible. The room was spacy, the beds comfortable. The pool is not heated but there is a heated Jacuzzi which I used every night before going to bed. That wasn't a problem for me. This hotel is one of the best I ever had and by far the best one I had in the Azores.

The staff was above and beyond. The location was perfect for staging tours by day and nightlife options alike. Gorgeous Gorgeous! One of the nicest hotels you'll ever stay.... it's worth it!

I don't like that I'm not there currently. And I think they're top notch trying to out do the beauty of the island... very easy and tempting to stay on premise... especially the facilities... so don't get stuck there... there's lots to see and do on Sao Miguel!

Unbeatable view. Perched on the edge of the world. Utterly sublime.

Food was subpar, so we opted to go out to eat most of the time. Normally this would be a dealbreaker, but everything else was so fantastic it was worth it.
