We were looking for a stay outside of city center of Ponta Delgada but still within the walkable distance. This place is about 15 minutes walking distance from center and you walk by the ocean the whole way so it makes it very beautiful and memorable. There are nearby bus stops as well that connects you with nearby local ( clean ) beaches as well as center and some of nearby villages. We didn't rent a car and happy to say we didn't need it - the tours can pick you up right in front of the property, you can take beautiful walks around, neighborhood seemed to be safe and the place is facing the ocean which makes is absolutely perfect to just sit outside by the ocean at anytime of the day. Location is 10/10 for what we were looking for. Yet, what we appreciated the most is the personal & extremely kind approach of everyone who works there. The owner was always reachable and helpful and waited for us even after later checkin. Two ladies who are around during the day always made our mornings perfect - their energy, smiles, advices of what to do around the island made the stay truly unique and authentic. Property is recently renovated into very modern, beautifully equipped place to stay in. Rooms have AC and also small terrace or ocean view ( depending on type of room ), clean bathroom with shower and very comfy double bed. Common breakfast / kitchen area is equipped with coffee machine and after long day there was always a tea or lemonade with small refreshments available for all the guests which we found to be very thoughtful. Breakfast that comes with room are one of the best ones we have ever seen - really appreciative of conscious ways of serving them as you can ask for eggs or also yogurt etc. according your preferences and its made freshly for you instead of common buffet. You also get nice variety of cheese / hams / fruits/ bread to it. Great way to avoid waste!

We stayed at Casa da Ilha for 8 nights and absolutely loved it. The location is excellent — close enough to the center of Ponta Delgada for convenience, but tucked away just enough to enjoy peace and quiet. Perfect for a moment of rest after a day of exploring São Miguel The suite was spacious, bright, beautifully designed, and spotless. It felt like home from day one. The bed was very comfortable, there was a cozy sitting area — ideal for relaxed breakfasts or quiet dinners in. What stood out most was the attention to detail and the overall sense of calm and thoughtful hospitality. The hosts were friendly, discreet, and always happy to help with recommendations around the island. We highly recommend Casa da Ilha and would definitely return.

Really amazing hotel. It is beautifully designed, the rooms are comfortable and big, the dining space is so cosy that you just want to spend your time there. All products and materials are high quality. The staff is extremely nice and it just feels like home. The location is also great, 20 minutes by walk to the city centre of Ponta Delgada, close to highway and with lots of free parking. We had a see view room and it was really nice and peaceful.

There are not many things to list here. During our stay there was a pipe issue and we didn't have warm water for half of our stay. Even though it was fixed after the weekend, at the end of the week the water was cold again. Another small thing was that the soundproofing wasn't so good, so we could hear other people showering or doing things in the dining area. But all of those things were compensated by how beautiful and calming this place is.

Very stylish small hotel with a warm, home-like atmosphere. Clean minimalist design with a Scandinavian touch and natural wood throughout. Friendly and attentive staff. Complimentary homemade lemonade, cake, coffee and tea available all day - a lovely bonus. The location is excellent - away from the busy harbor area, which makes it more peaceful, but still very close to the waterfront, just across a quiet street. Free parking was always easy to find nearby.

Some downsides: the hotel is bordered by roads, and on the opposite side from the sea-facing street is a local highway (Via Rápida), which caused noticeable traffic noise when sleeping with windows open. Also, the air conditioning in my room failed on the second day and wasn’t fixed quickly. They provided a fan instead, which helped.  Despite that, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely return. If I visit Ponta Delgada again, this is where I’ll stay.

All great: spacious apartment, new modern furniture, big comfortable bed, nice terrace, great location-20 min walk to the city by the seaside. Also from our point of view Ponta Delgada is the best place to stay on the island. The rest of the places are very small and alarmist nothing works in the evening. Parking lots available in the street, no need to pay. The stuff is friendly and nice. Breakfast is simple, no buffet- just bread, cheese, ham or other meat, fruits, butter and jam, on order you get eggs and/or yoghurt. This seems to be classic breakfast at Portugal/Azores. We also stayed at a resort, which was the tripple price from what w booked here and we had the same composition of a breakfast. I would definitely stay again in this hotel! Nothing to complain!

Everything. The location was ideal for us. The staff was 10/10, we had early check out and we would not be able to have breakfast and they prepared something for us and had it placed in the room. The breakfast was very good quality and I was actually shocked. In the afternoon there is cake offered for free - don’t hesitate to try it. It is very good. 24/7 coffee for free, ice tea and tea. I must also add something for the decoration - I loved it. Minimal making the place really relax for me.

The only thing I would like is the water in the shower to be a bit more hot.

By far one of the best stays I’ve had so far. From the wonderful minimalist interior design up to the finest details, to the exquisite service and staff. Very clean and neat rooms with a change of fresh towels daily. Breakfast is also included, which is an added delicious bonus, and the staff is very welcoming. Jessica was very warm and friendly and gave us very good recommendations in terms of places to visit and eat out at. Everything was perfect and it made us feel like coming into the comforting embrace of family. Will definitely book again when coming back on the island! :)

Very nice staff/hosts, Jessica gave great recommendations what to visit. Rooms are very clean and good breakfast. You can always refill chilled water and there is free cake the whole day which was really nice. Location is good to visit the whole island by car - there were always enough parking spaces in front of the building. We really enjoyed our stay here :)

The only thing that was a bit annoying (and is keeping me from giving a full 10 points) is that there is a smoking area in the inner yard - if your window is facing the inner yard then you can smell the smoking fumes/cigarettes in your room and you cannot let fresh air in while somebody is smoking. Turning on the AC helps although it is not ideal. Everything else was really fantastic!

Our stay at Casa da Ilha in late April/early May exceeded all expectations! The hotel itself is beautiful, with a modern and minimalist design, the most comfortable beds ever, and fantastic ocean views. Dark towels are provided at no extra cost if you want to visit hot springs on Sao Miguel, which was very handy. The hotel's location is really good, just a little outside of the centre meaning you get both the quiet and calm (and lots of parking space options for those with a car) as well as the proximity (walking distance) to the attractions, restaurants etc in Ponta Delgada. But most of all, the staff is exceptionally amazing. Jessica is a wonderfully friendly and personable host, made sure we got a delicious personalised breakfast each morning (my partner and I are both vegeterians), had lovely chats with us in the morning and shared tips with us on what to do on the island. Annabella, the housekeeper, was so warm and welcoming, and took amazing care of us as well. It pained us to say goodbye to both of them at the end of our stay.
