The kindness of the staff. Everyone was doing their utmost to make us feel at home. Lots of thoughtful details made our stay a great experience for us. Everything you need (eg transfer to airport) they help you to arrange it. Everybody at the reception, the bar, both restaurants, the spa, all were extremely kind and helpful. The location is great, in a quiet neighbourhood, surrounded by green environment, much nicer than downtown. Excellent spa facilities and a divine hot bath in the pineapple greenhouse, nice after a good hike!. Two very good restaurants so we didn’t feel the need to go outside for dinner. On the day of our early departure even a coffee & breakfast service was provided at 04.00 am. Convenient to park our rental car, taxi to downtown very affordable.

There’s nothing we didn’t like. The hotel might consider to provide coffee & tea facilities in the room, with the excellent tea from the island’s tea plantation. On the other hand, you can always ask for tea or coffee in the bar and take it to the room.

A lovely hotel just outside the city centre. We walked in a few times - 30/45 mins. Wonderful sea swimming in free cordoned areas if u like cold sea The staff were absolutely delightful (especially the woman who spent ages linking my errant kindle to the WiFi) Beautiful grounds Incredible roof terrace - beautiful views Breakfast and both restaurants for dinner were great

Loved the soundproofing and black-out blinds. The room (jr. suite) was gorgeous - loved the soaker tub. We kept the pillow menu - talk about being spoiled! The shower was huge and there was tons of space for storage, hanging clothes, drawers, etc. The two sets of lights beside the bed were a nice touch. The balcony was enormous, a nice place for sitting and another for lounging and resting after a great sauna. The facilities were quite nice, we used the sauna a few times, but not the pool (a little too cool and windy out). Breakfast was delicious, nice to have egg options.

Not that we watch a lot of tv (and didn't during our stay), we were unable to get any tv in English. We were told by reception that you could change the settings to make it in English. I'm no techie, so didn't even try this. Other than that, I couldn't find fault with the hotel - everyone was more than helpful and friendly.

Beautifully designed small hotel with lovely grounds, close to the airport and downtown Ponta Delgada, but very quiet and peaceful. Ample parking. The front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful, the rooms were spotless, well-equipped and comfortable. The breakfast was extensive with fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, different kinds of bread, meats, cheeses, cakes, etc. and egg options cooked to order. We didn't have time to try out any of the spa facilities so cannot comment on these.

Some of the staff seemed a bit distracted and we had to re-order drinks on a couple of occasions but, overall, everyone was so pleasant that it was a minor problem. The route to the hotel was very winding, through narrow streets which surprised us but it was a lovely oasis when we got to it, so worth the effort.

An oasis outside of the main part of the city (you’ll need a car). The hotel has a large garden and a nice deck for lounging by the pool. The pool, fitness and spa were small but pleasant. I enjoyed my massage/scrub a lot. There are multiple dining options on property and a large grocery store nearby. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The staff are wonderful.

I wasn’t keen on my bed. It was an eco-friendly (bamboo) mattress and it didn’t have much support. I love the super firm mattresses you generally find in Europe so this was a little disappointing.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with lots of greenery. They gave us some champagne and treats as we were celebrating our honeymoon which was a lovely touch. Spa was nice and loved the outdoor pool and the indoor pool in the greenhouse was an experience! The breakfast was gorgeous and we enjoyed the Asian restaurant, which has lovely views. We also enjoyed the pool table in the bar!

Our room had a sewerage smell which we alerted the staff to, they said there had been issues but it shouldn't anymore and they would get maintenance to take a look, next day it didn't seem to smell not sure if they sorted it or we got used to it! Would have liked a little more care about that e.g. offer to change room if possible. More signage around the hotel would be good it took us ages to find the indoor pool because it didn't look open!

Wonderful Hotel! One can feel the personal touches all around. Design is very good, the staff very helpful and extremely nice. The "good night" treats like cookies, candles, etc. every evening was definetely a highlight. Breakfast was awesome, local products were used. Even the tea was from the local tea plantation. We used the sauna only once and the heated saltwater pool in the pineapple plantation was also a unique experience. Walking around the premises felt like a botanical garden. They have plenty If parking space, we always got a spot!

The Wi-fi in our room was unstable and weak, but good in th Foyer and Restaurant. There is no kettle/cofeemaker in the room, which would've been nice to have.

Free Sauna and SPA is really great. The staff is helpful and the territory is beautiful. The rooms are also very comfy and quite. We enjoyed the trip and we will come back for sure. But avoid visiting Magma restaurant. It should be improved because the food was bad there.

Magma restaurant for dinners, it's very pricey and they serve very bad food. We had a very expensive dinner but it was so blend I don't recommend it to anyone. Go to Asian restaurant instead it's really great.

The overall ambience, attention to sustainability, the comfort of the beds/bedding and the amazing staff willing to help plan, and carry out your vacation needs as well as their attention to your in house needs. Breakfast was good, plentiful And location was good.

The Magma restaurant within the hotel. Plates were not well described either in writing or by the waitstaff. Portions were quite small and mediocre from a culinary standpoint. $$$. Not really worth it.

Perfect! Super friendly staff, from the reception to the restaurant, everyone was super friendly and always greeted us with a smile. A lot of attention to details: small details that really made a difference , like cookies delivered on our door or a scented candle before night time. We were positively surprised and felt super comfortable! The breakfast was very good, good variety, buffet + a la carte menu very good ! The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Easy to park, location was also very good. Super calm and zero noise at night, which is great.

If I have to point out something it would be the bathroom of the room, not so up to date and would deserve a little improvement. Also it would be great to have a propriety map to help us guide on the hotel (we never managed to see the spa or the pineapple garden)
