The room was spacious and very comfortable. Staff were very nice and helpful. A good breakfast with a wide selection of products. The location was very good to access the western part of Sao Miguel, it was right on the promenade near the port and 10 minutes from the airport.

The treatment my wife got at the spa (reflexology and head massage) was unprofessional, although the spa team were very nice, gentle and helpful. My wife has had many body treatments in her life but this one left her very disappointed. for "head massage", all the masseur did is move her hair from side to side. The reflexology consisted of nothing more that pressing my wife's toes and it seemed the masseur had very little knowledge of this field. The spa itself is beautiful but the floor is often wet and slippery.

included breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I love that the room had a separate area for the sink, shower and toilet. That makes getting dressed in the morning so much easier. The staff were exceptional. They helped us plan our day and made suggestions for what to do. They offered tips for things to avoid and made us meal and activity reservations.

As a person with mobility issues, the proximity to shops and restaurants wasn't great. I'm sure lots of people who have no trouble walking would be fine with it, but for me it was a negative.

Clean hotel, good breakfast. Luis the concierge deserves a special mention .. he was brilliant. Great activities and restaurant reservation Great views over harbour.

Although 5 star, we had to pay extra for parking. Swimming pool was small and a little cold. Evening meals in the restaurant seemed expensive, we saw the menu and avoided them..

The hotel is excellent! First, the staff was amazing, everybody was very friendly and helpful. Then, the food at the restaurant (breakfast and dinner) was delightful, especially the roasted fish. Finally the room itself was really good, with plenty of space, spotless clean and with an amazing view of the ocean. The hotel location is really good as well, within a short walking distance from everything the city has to offer.

Everything was good, but maybe the acoustic isolation at my room was not the best, since I could hear some street noise. Aside from that, nothing else.

What a pleasant surprise, our flight arrived at 8am and your reception staff generously allowed us an early check-in! Also, the included breakfast buffet is outstanding. So many choices as communicated by the "English-speaking" breakfast hosts who provided such wonderful customer service! In regards to our room, it had a GREAT view of the harbor where I had so much fun watching a sailing class practice their tacking on one day and then witnessing how a cruise ship docks in the harbor...such entertainment!

Despite the reservation being in my name and booked through my credit card (I am female), when checking out, a member of staff exclusively showed the bill to my male partner to check over and sign, even though the bill was in my name. As the person paying for the stay, I would have appreciated being spoken to on eye level and not ignored for simply being a woman.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff was friendly. Still, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the overall service.

However, we were a bit disappointed that when we tried to visit the rooftop pool, there were no available sunbeds or space, so we had to return to our room. We feel the pool area is quite small for the size of the hotel.

Excellent stay! Awesome breakfast!! Friendly service! Booked a private tour through the hotel and they provided us with an excellent guide (Daniel). We booked his services for 2 days! We had a fabulous stay on the island!

My one complaint: the hotel sprays the rooms with a fragrance: it’s overpowering. We had to switch rooms upon check in until we found one whose scent wasn’t as bad. We asked that for the nights we were there to please not spray with the fragrance and they complied: once the scent faded, everything was perfect. No complaints. Just a heads up for those that are sensitive to scents and aromas.

We simply loved this hotel. The staff were just so nice. The breakfast and then the Whale Watching bar on 7th floor were both great. To rooms were clean and comfortable. Walking distance to everything in town and two of the best restaurants on the island within a couple of minutes walk. The concierge was friendly and ever so helpful. It is very rare I leave a property thinking they deserve accolades but my entire family would agree that this was a great stay.

In a couple of places the decorations are looking a little tired

The ocean view from the window is awesome. Comfortable bed and great linens. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast with various food options: champagne, fruits, cheeses, meats, breads, yogurts, sweets, some hot food choices, etc. Nice spa with saunas and pool. Great restaurants near by (walking distance) to have dinner: Gastronomo or Sao Pedro restaurants. Hotel has parking for 10 euros a day.
