Penedo de Saudade Suites is an amazing location. The villa is well restored with a lot of taste and art. Our room was spacy, perfectly clean and with all comfort you need to feel cosy. The stuff is very friendly, attentive and try to respond to the needs of the guests. The roof terrace for breakfast with an amazing view of Coimbra is one if the highlights of this location. You normally find a parking place in the street so that you don‘t need to reserve a parking place. When you stay at Coimbra, we highly recomend to spend a Fado evening at a Capella, with dinner or just a drink. Thanks to the stuff for our great stay. Everything was excellent, just a sugestion. Instead of a list of restaurants and places to visit, we think that a visual plan of the city, especially of the historical center would be good to have a fast overview which makes easier the orientation. In other towns of Europe, it s a standard and offered to the hotels by the tourist officm.

The hotel is located quite far from the center uphill. It is not well served by buses. It is a villa with many rooms on several floors. It is a very nice space, clean, cozy. The staff is helpful and very nice, speaks perfect English. Nothing is a problem.

Breakfast is right in the hotel. At first glance it seems rich, but the menu is absolutely the same every day and the next day I didn't know what to have. More creativity would be helpful. Unfortunately, the breakfast is not suitable for longer stays.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly receptionist who was extremely helpful. She explained everything about the hotel, the breakfast, check out time (which is at noon which is great) and also gave us some tips on what to see in the area. The room was exactly like the photos and had everything we needed. The hotel was in walking distance to the botanical gardens and to the University of Coimbra. I would definitely recommend friends or family to stay here if visiting Coimbra.

The pillows were a little uncomfortable.

Location with great views, spacious room with large balcony, tea and coffee maker, good bathroom, good breakfast on roof and roof terrace. Quiet location with those great views, but easy access to the university and town.

Let’s be clear: it isn’t a full facility hotel, so no bar or restaurant other than breakfast. Used by students and groups as a hostel so can be noisy. Wide range of rooms, so book with care and try to talk to them direct, so expectations are met. It is located high on the hill,so be prepared for that

I loved the decor of the whole place, the spacious room, with lots of natural light and a beautiful view. The breakfast selection, the presentation and attention to detail of the whole building.. Loved meeting Ema, Gabriela and Isabel. They were very kind and willing to help in any way they could. I only stayed for one night but walked away feeling that I had made 3 new friends. Their hospitality is amazing. I will be back for sure and absolutely recommend the Penedo da Saudade Hostel and Suites to anyone who values a very clean, beautiful and very well located place that feels like Home!

The room was very clean and comfortable, the beds were good and the overall room space was pleasant. The breakfast was very good, in the rooftop with a spectacular view of the city. The staff is 5 stars quality, very friendly and nice. Recommend this place to all my friends and family for sure...

I just didn´t like one thing in the hostel and it was the ventilation noise in the bathroom every time you turn on the lights, it was very loud.

We found the property without a problem. Staff were lovely and very accommodating. We had great recommendations for activities and restaurants. It was within walking distance of our entire Coimbra agenda. We had a lovely stay and would return when in Coimbra.

Everything about staying at Penedo da Sadade Suites & Hostel was great. We arrived later than expected and received clear instructions. Elisabet was very helpful and lively, pointing out the main places to visit in Coimbra. The rooms were excellent, with a beautiful view over the city. We highly recommend.

Beautifully maintained and cared for small hotel. The rooftop must be a fabulous place to rest up and enjoy the view. Unfortunately for us, the weather did not cooperate. The breakfast was wonderful. Fresh rolls every morning. The staff were so attentive.

Lovely staff and lovely room. It was a wonderful room, with a small balcony with a wonderful view over the city. Pretty close to the city also.

Two things i can complain about *The walls are really thin so you hear the others very well in an annoying way *The breakfast was more to wish for, was simple but simple in a bad way. Or atleast for me
