The location is exceptional - a trip into the past, with the comforts of the present. The village is beautiful and beautifully preserved. The house was very comfortable, especially the beds. The view from the living room and the mini balcony is very nice. The bathroom is modern and clean. The kitchen has everything you need to cook for four people. The staff is really warm and welcoming. The breakfast is great.

The extensive form you have to fill in beforehand, indicating every little thing you want for breakfast, for each person. It's tedious and a real nuisance. The pool water is too cold. The pool loungers are preasigned and we couldn't move them in a way that all four of us were together. The shower water flow in the morning is too low.

We are two retired couples who spent three nights over a stormy (on and off) Easter weekend. Our cozy two bedroom villa with fireplace and view over village to mountains was magical. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well equipped. We roasted a chicken with potatoes and vegetables for Easter! One rainy evening, the four of us assembled a jigsaw puzzle on the coffee table in front of the fire. Each morning, we walked down to the reception room to be greeted by our cheerful and informative host, Ines. Delicious breakfasts exceeded our expectations and Ines (a treasure) answered all of our many questions about the region's history and culture. Gondramaz is central to many of the 27 schist villages. We would definitely recommend Mountain Whisper to friends.

Perfect stay in a picturesque place. First of all, service is amazing, we had all we need and even more, it's a great feeling when people around wants to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. Breakfast is very good, we also ordered dinner which was served in a very nice way and was delicious. Near the village we saw a deer in a wild nature. And we had an amazing trekking to several waterfalls and also to windmills on the top of the mountain. And after day of walking the trails fireplace gaves us a feeling of coziness and tranquility. Room we ordered was not big, but big enough to feel comfortable. All amenities were in a perfect conditions and quantities. Induction hob, microvawe oven, fridge, small coffee machine, kitchen utensils, firewood and means for making a fireplace... Thank you for such a nice experience!

We couldn't stay more, because vacation is not endless :)

Great location, great facilities, and great hospitality. The place is located in a "schist" village in Gondramaz. The site is beautiful, located in the mountains. Our place was a "small house/room" with a full kitchen and a table+chairs to eat. To get into the house, we were given a code which made it easier than handling a key. The reception/breakfast area and pool are all in the lower part of the village, with a gorgeous view of the mountains. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. We had dinner specially prepared for us the night we arrived and it was very tasty. We enjoyed the quiet evenings and the long days, sitting by the edge of the mountain. Note that this is a small village on the side of the mountain. One has to walk "down" into the village and "up" to leave. It is a short and interesting walk.

We didn't expect the hotel to be part of a village, so when we arrived late in the evening it was an odd sight, but when we woke up the next morning it was a very welcoming atmosphere. So the location is breathtaking, adding the facilities, a picturesque house and a tasteful breakfast made it complete for us as a family, hence a perfect score in this review. To the staff and owners; Thanks for your hospitality and keep up the good work!

This is such a charming place! We had an apartment that was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The bed was amazing! The service was very accommodating and polite. The location is special: a fairly remote old village, restored with taste and turned into discreet and intimate vacation houses. You are surrounded by nature and if you adventure into it you will soon find some deers.

The kitchen has the bare minimum and if you like to cook is best to bring some extra stuff with you. But most likely for most people is enough.

Entering this ancient xisto town with its steeps hills and adorable cobble stoned streets was incredible. Cars are parked at the entrance of the village, and we proceeded on foot for the next 100 meters to get to the room. It felt like traveling 100 years back into time, it was fantastic. The elevation of the location is pretty high, which means the views of the surrounding area are breathtaking. All you will hear here are birds chirping and the rustle of leaves. The staff is very welcoming and everyone made sure our room was tidy, and that we had everything we needed. The breakfast options are numerous and the quality was very good. Having access to a pool was refreshing in the midday heat. We really enjoyed our stay and we hope to visit again soon! We heard about this place through (instagram) @vivacoimbra

Facilities in property were excellent- everything if needed to cater for yourself with your own provisions- super cute and comfortable. Staff most welcoming and delivered our tapas and wine to us (unfortunately the only restaurant was not open). Breakfast fantastic. Unfortunately time only allowed us the one night stay but perfect place to stay for several nights for some walks.

Could not fault at all

We were able to experience one of the most charming and sweet little villages in Portugal with modern comfort. Dina and the staff extended exceptional hospitality. The communication through WhatsApp ahead of the check-in was clear and easy. The house we stayed in was surprisingly warm and cozy for February.

Mountain Whisper is such a gem of a place to stay. It was meticulously clean, comfortable, has a great breakfast and beautiful views. We couldn’t have asked for more. Special shout out to Margarida for being so kind and accommodating. We loved our stay and would love to be back!
