The location was amazing! You are in the city center close to everything. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. My room had a great back balcony, mini bar and a nice little bottle of wine upon arrival. The lounge area was cute and breakfast was good, although it was better at the Lisbon location

The room was pretty small so it was hard to have space to move around but it was just me. Two people would be tough. The desk was worn down. I was on the 5th floor and the stairs were steep. Wouldn’t be good if you have mobility issues or a child.

Great location close to Sao Bento Station but very quiet in the bedroom as great double glazing . Comfy beds, very friendly staff and lovely buffet breakfast. Also great to be able to use the coffee machine and sit on the patio at other times for a quiet moment! I requested a room near a lift which they obliged with and although there are a few steps to negotiate between buildings to get to the breakfast room I didn't find any problems though someone with very limited mobility might have a problem? Overall great value for money and would definitely stay here again.

this place was such a gem and so close to the heart of Porto! the staff were very friendly and helpful and graciously spoke to us in English. the rooms are gorgeous with high ceilings, nice light and artistic touches. my favorite breakfast of any hotel we stayed at! so much selection of options with organic items made by them and excellent tea and coffee. the courtyard was a nice place to hang out as well! really can’t say enough about this great little hotel!

This eclectic hotel is located in the centre of the old part of Porto and is within walking distance of most of the tourist sites. There are lots of great restaurants, a laundromat and a supermarket in the street behind the hotel. My single room was tucked away in an adjoining building on the 3rd floor. It required a journey through, around and behind a variety of structures and passages. I didn't mind because the circuitous journey is furnished with some interesting art pieces and collectibles which added interest and charm. My room was narrow with a fridge on the lower level and the bedroom and bathroom up a wooden staircase. It looked over roofs covered with terracotta tiles. The room was narrow but comfortable. I think that most rooms are different, owing to the uniqueness of the property and the way it has been renovated. I peered into the main bedroom of the house and it was impressive (photo). There were lots of pastries on offer for breakfast (a Portuguese staple, it seems) and more conventional European breakfast items. The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly, spoke good English and were extremely helpful

Hard to carry a suitcase along so many corridors

The warmth and helpfulness of the staff is extraordinary, and the lovely, quirky accommodations are such fun. This was my second visit to this hotel. I first stayed in a little single room up a small stairway--a lovely little private enclave. This time, I was in Room 304, overlooking the second-floor patio/deck and breakfast room, with my own café table. Just perfect. I was so pleased to be offered a snack bag on my departure day because of my need for an early check-out. I really appreciated it. Just one more way in which Casa dos Lóios has won my heart.

What a lovely stay we had at this gem of a place. The location was ideal for venturing out to walk to all the attractions. There is a public parking garage nearby as well as the train/ metro station. The staff is so friendly and gave us a warm welcome and wonderful recommendations on what to go and see around the hotel. The breakfast spread was delicious! The hotel has so much charm and character. The lay out is not your typical plain hotel and is a beautifully renovated historical building. Will definitely stay when I return in the future for business/ pleasure trip. Thank you so much for the hospitality.

There really wasn’t anything I didn’t dislike.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. Very nice people. Breakfast was excellent in variety and quality. The location is perfect downtown but still quiet. The only "noise" is from the seagull at night, wonderful it reminds you that the sea it's close.

Our room in the back was basic (a kind of box). Still ok for a night stay. It was too warm in it even if it's February and not so warm outside. The armchair in the room was dirty. Our table at breakfast was sticky. An electric black out happened when we arrived for a short time.

The hotel is in the historic district on a very pretty pedestrian-only street, but just a short block away for Uber & taxis. The building is an amazing 18th century remodel with all the good stuff - plastered ceilings, wood floors, etc - still intact. The multi-lingual staff goes out of their way to assist with anything. Breakfast was very complete with fresh fruits and vegetables, breads, cheeses, meats, fresh-squeezed orange juice.

Early risers should be aware that they open for breakfast at 7:30, although coffee, tea and water are always available.

Fab town centre location and we had a lovely quiet room considering how busy the area is. The staff were extremely helpful, especially the lovely breakfast lady who made us eggs every morning - a special thank you! And the huge bed was super-comfortable. We loved that many of the original features of the building have been retained, especially the painted ceiling and the working shutters.

The decor in our room is a bit tired. I don’t mean because of the age of the beautiful historic building, I mean the modern bits - bathroom tiling, bathroom door needing repainting, hooks in the wall where pictures used to be. We also didn’t like the utilitarian office furniture which didn’t look boutique but just cheap in such a beautiful setting. Also the supplies of water and glasses etc in the room didn’t get replenished, though we found some in the breakfast room. Overall, we felt a bit of investment is needed.

This place is AMAZING! Location is in the middle of everything, cool restaurants on the street in front of it . Very cool design, very creative and extremely comfortable and clean! The bed was a DREAM! The “receptionists” go out of their way to help/ accomodate, they make you feel like you just got a good friend! The breakfast is hands down the best breakfast you can have. There is so much, so fresh and so abundant. I absolutely loved this place!
