I have stayed in a few 4 star luxurious accommodations in Europe, but Torel was by far the most excellent one. The building is charismatic and gorgeous. The rooms are fabulous. The location is fantastic. The food is excellent. But what left the biggest unforgettable impression, is the staff. I had contacted the hotel to arrange a surprise for my partners birthday. The team took it upon themselves to decorate and arrange the surprise. The decorated the room beautifully and very tastefully. They gave us a free upgrade to a gorgeous room. Everyone we came in contact with, was truly amazing. Warm, nice, friendly, sincere, authentic. From the front desk to the restaurant to housekeeping. Everyone was truly a pleasure to be in contact with. Some great recommendations for restauranta as well were shared upon request. I cannot reccommend Torel enough. It was an unforgettable trip to Porto, because of the team.

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment was really clean and had all the facilities we needed. Location is great within walking distance of all the major sites and 3 min walk to the river with loads of restaurants. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, I cannot compliment the staff enough, they were all so friendly, professionally and helpful. The breakfast is an experience in itself, not to be missed with such attention to detail and amazing customer service and delicious eggs Benedict. It was my birthday on this trip and hotel surprised me with a little birthday cake and champagne to celebrate! I would highly recommend a visit, the energy and warm atmosphere created by the staff is truly exceptional 😀

We had a memorable and enjoyable stay at Torel appartement a high-standard luxury boutique hotel. The apartments are beautifully decorated and the staff extremely professional and friendly, with excellent breakfast service. Important to know: the apartments are in a separate building uphill with no elevator, but the team kindly moved us to a ground-floor room which was a big relief for my mom after heart surgery.

We were very pleased with the people and facilities at Torel 1884 Suites and Apartments. The duplex suite was spacious and well-appointed. The service was impeccable all-around; we were particularly impressed with Jorge, Kath and Filipa at Bartolomeu Bistro. The location can't be beat, and we took advantage of the free walking tour and learned many local insights and tips from the charismatic, Francisco. We would not hesitate to return to Torel 1884 Suites and Apartments during future visits to Porto.

We liked everything about the facility and people, and have not complaints.

Torel 1884 is such a charming boutique hotel. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff were welcoming and accommodating. They upgraded us to Room 10, which was a lovely surprise. The room has a great view and while being right on the street, the sound didn’t keep us up (and I’m a light sleeper).

The bed was a bit unsupportive/worn out, but we still slept well. The only mirrors are in the bathroom, which was very dimly lit and hard to see. Another mirror elsewhere in the room would be a nice touch. Overall we’d still highly recommend!

The Location. The breakfast menu. The staff were amazing. The apartment was serviced twice daily and was so quiet. It was air conditioned with a pan tiled roof view at the back towards a monument on the hill. The power shower was amazing. Water was free gratis in the fridge and from a water cooler. Wine and chocolates were a lovely touch.

Nothing. The staff excelled. Nothing was too much trouble. We even visited the sister hotel for a dip in the pool. All arranged ahead for us.

This is a superb hotel in a great location. From the minute we walked in everything was perfect.. the calm and stylish atmosphere and Iris and all the staff were so welcoming and helpful. We had brilliant recommendations for restaurants and things to do. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were really friendly. This is the best customer service we have ever had in a hotel! We had a beautiful bedroom on the top floor and enjoyed a drink in the library. We would love to come back.

Incredibly attentive staff, great location in the heart of Porto. Accommodating staff arranged airport transfer, organized tours, and packed substantial togo breakfast meals for days when we had early outings before breakfast hours. Room was very nice with the exception of no bathroom counter space and low bathroom lighting. Restaurant staff was fantastic for breakfast buffet and catered to our needs. Definitely would stay at Torrel 1884 next time we come to Porto. Staff and service was A++++!!!!

Some street noise during the day (which is to be expected) BUT not at night (when it matters most).

We stayed 2 nights in an executive apartment on Flores and it was simply stunning, with a duo of Juliet balconies looking down the busy pedestrianised street filled with music, love and laughter. We stayed our final night in the main hotel which is beautifully breath taking! The staff were very attentive and made sure we had the best stay possible! We celebrated my partners 50th birthday whilst we were there and received a complimentary bottle of Torels own sparkling wine and fresh fruit on arrival. They helped us with our luggage and took time to talk to us about our stay. The location of the apartment was perfect and close to all amenities! We went into the restaurant for our welcome drink and it was very pleasant. A beautiful hotel in a beautiful city. We also took advantage of the pool facilities at TOREL Adventgarde which was about a 20 min walk away! Absolutely stunning pool and scenery, well worth it after a busy few days of sight seeing. The attention the detail in both Torels was second to none.

Some noise from deliveries could be heard in the morning, outside the apartment. (Can’t really be helped)! The lack of a freestanding mirror in the hotel suite, a small hand held mirror would be much appreciated for ladies wanting to put their make up on in natural daylight. Very minor tweak! Overall a perfect experience.

Beautiful hotel with only 12 rooms in the main building which is amazing. High ceilings with enormous windows and beautiful decor. The rooms were a good size with everything you might need including coffee machine, mini bar and very comfortable bed. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They arranged a walking tour of Porto with a guide called Francisco.We went to places we had never seen and found it just that bit more interesting than usual tours. Breakfast was a la carte with lots of choice including cold meats and cheese, cereals, fresh fruit , cooked eggs and pastries.The breakfast staff were excellent and full of tips and advice on the menu. We also ate in the restaurant and had a great meal. The location is ideal, easy to walk to most places and close to the subway station and buses.

The hotel is really central so there is some road noise but it didn't really disturb us and there are rooms at the back if you prefer. It would help to have a brighter light near the mirror in the bathroom to do your makeup.
