Beautiful modern apartment located in a very old district. Staff attention to detail and helpfulness was great. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Good quality crockery and cutlery, as well as kitchen appliances. Grundig blue tooth speaker was a nice surprise. If using Uber, get dropped off at Porto Cathedral to avoid getting lost in the maze of little alleys. Cars cannot drive up to the apartment.

You have to stand on a ledge below the window to get a view of the river. There is no view from the room if not standing on the ledge. The ledge is too narrow for a chair. This was disappointing.

Great little place in the old town. Great staff. You can’t drop off outside in a car, but make sure if you’re in a taxi, that they drop you by the cathedral nearby. It’s 2 minutes walk from there.

The location was perfect for us-right next to the Porto Cathedral and we were able to walk to most places we wanted to visit. The view from our window was amazing! We had beautiful views of the sunset every night. We stayed in the Economic Superior Studio - smaller than I expected, but had everything we need and we only slept there. There was a laundry room with washer and dryer right outside our apartment. It’s a short walk to the Ribeira River district with lots of restaurants and the Dom Luis I bridge. Walk across the bridge for amazing views and to the other side to the Jardim do Mouro for sunset, for great pictures of Porto, or just to enjoy some live music. Don’t miss the Livraria Lello (get the $15 skip-the-line tickets in advance online. You can put that cost towards the purchase of a book upstairs). Near the bookstore are Igreja do Carmo and Igreja dos Carmelitas, right next to each other with the “hidden house” in between, and covered with the beautiful azulejos. Other highlights: incredible Igreja de Sao Francisco, gorgeous Palacio da Bolsa with the guided tour, Sao Bento Station and the Time Out Market next to it, Fabrica de Pasteis de Nata for the best Pastel de Nata, Igreja de Santa António dos Congregados with a beautiful tile facade and so much more! I definitely want to come back and would stay at Oporto Street das Aldas.

We arrived at the airport late in the afternoon and should have taken an uber or taxi. We took the metro and got lost walking to the apartment from the station, which is actually close, but we went the wrong direction. There was no food available nearby and markets were closed. Water in the refrigerator would have been nice and maybe a small snack. Just one window and you had to stand on the window seat to see out, but the view was spectacular! Definitely many steps and steep hills getting around Porto, so pack light and expect a workout!

Location in the heart of old Porto, close to the Cathedral. Riverfront and many points of interest walkable. Nicely appointed room, comfy bed, equipped kitchenette, good bathroom (sink a bit tight for washing face). Enjoyed the provided Bluetooth speaker. Spotlessly clean. View from window was lovely - enjoyed it. Used the common washer/dryer (no charge). At night very little noise; I was able to keep window open except 1 thunderstorm. Did not use heat but it was equipped. Don’t think any A/C. Friendly and helpful staff. Cozy and comfortable for 3-day stay. Good value.

I learned to accept this as part of the old city experience, but guests should be aware these are steep, irregular streets. You must go up / down every time you come and go. A taxi cannot drop you off at doorstep. Be prepared to carry your luggage up these old roads. Having said that, this 60+ yo male managed ok. It’s part of the charm, if you can manage it.

Once we had found somewhere for our car to stay for a couple of days, we easily found the property next to the cathedral on a very old, pretty pedestrianised street. Staff were welcoming and informative and took us up to our apartment. The views of the river Douro and opposite side of Ria are amazing and enhanced by the many terracotta roofs of neighbouring houses. You could sit and watch the view for hours. It is quite easy to navigate streets around the apartment building but would recommend to those without mobility issues. Same goes for inside as there are several flights of steps to the apartment but they are well maintained and smooth. We were able to use washing machine for free. We stayed at the property during the Spanish/ Portuguese black out and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were ok. Would definitely recommend to anyone but would urge you to not bring a car into Porto.

Good Location with a view over the Douro..a few minutes walk to the centre and river. Compact apartment but everything is there and clean etc. I wasn't aware of the St John's night so price was a bit high because of this but €104 not too bad with the view. Contact Staff very friendly and helpful so overall very good.

Apartment was a bit smaller than I expected as was an Economy..but had the view. Bed is built in at the end of the living area..comfortable but not that long..I'm average height 177cm and my feet were touching the wall..so taller people bear in mind! Stayed just the one night so overall give it an 8 but would perhaps look at the next size up next time if not a lot more expensive. For a couple might be a bit tight for space..

Very clean, nice little kitchen, tea/coffee, good rain head shower, great view and location in pretty laneway

Bed was the width of the room with access on one side only, ie, tucked into an alcove [studio apartment]. This made it hot but there was a spacey fan which was needed all night. Early Nov. Wouldn't like it in Summer. Sitting chairs were hard.

location is superb, the best apartment we have stayed in and we have travelled to many countries. Spotlessly clean, fresh towels daily, apartments serviced daily. Washing machine and dryer on the lower floor . An incredible view and well the staff are the best we have come across in our travels . We stayed during the massive power and communication outage in Portugal April 25 and the staff went out of their way to ensure we were provided for and ok. We really hope to return one day. Thank you so very very much .

Views, bed very comfortable , lovely breeze, well equipped kitchen, lots space. secure, High up in old town. Lots to eat nearby. Greta coffee in little cafe just below our window

Instructions on h9ow to get there by foot were inadequate. Please in future mention in blurb about arriving at top of hill, at the back of the cathedral , and then going down Albas street. We unfortunately came from the bottom and it was awful dragging the bags up hill over cobblestones. Back ache++++. From the top would have been much easier Barking dog nearby went all night one night. Hot water system low volume , so had to space out our showers.

The location is quaint and has the best feel of old city… the view from the window is beautiful! It’s so close to many attractions!
