We loved the property. We were greeted downstairs by a young gentleman that helped us bring our suitcases all the way to the fourth floor. The room was spacious, super clean and beautiful. We had three gorgeous windows that opened out into a balcony. I loved sitting on the balcony, looking at the people go by. At night we would close all the shutters which made the room very cozy. The bed and the pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was not very big, but it was perfectly comfortable. I appreciated the electric plug in the bathroom, which doesn’t always happen in Europe. I absolutely loved walking downstairs in the morning and having coffee and croissants from the coffee shop. I also loved the location being right next to the bridge and walking up to the best views in the city.

I read some reviews about the noise of the motorcycles and traffic at night. I was a little concerned, but we found that shutting all the shutters helped tremendously. We like to eat dinner late and would not get back to the room till midnight. The noise and traffic always died down not long after that and we were always able to sleep.

The room was super nice and the location was perfect, close-by to the river with restaurants and life. Downstairs cafe serves nice breakfast, which is the same place if you have breakfast included. The bed was very comfortable. You can go for a morning walk along the river. Highly recommended.

The only downside was that the property is next to a tunnel and apparently people love the sound of their cars inside tunnels so if you’re a light sleeper this might be an issue, otherwise earplugs helped.

Very nice property, old building refurbished to modern standards at the exceptional location just few minutes walk from Luis I bridge. Spacious and well equipped room with AC for cooling/heating, good breakfast at the cafe downstairs and friendly and helpful staff.

As mentioned in other reviews, located very close to the road tunnel so could get noisy due motorbikes/cars deliberately revving up the while driving true at night time. I am not a very deep sleeper but someone used to living in busy cities so it did not make much of a difference for me especially after long days sightseeing and walking up/down those hills in Porto. However, I can see it being a problem or some.

I would say the best two words to describe My Ribeira are "charming" and "cozy". From the friendly staff, to the beautiful stone walls and well decorated room, to the delicious cafe downstairs, everything was lovely for a quick gateway to Porto.

Indeed the sound by the road nearby can be louder than normal, however, I would say the issue is mainly attributed to the motorcycle drivers who love to show-off their bike's sounds on the tunnel due to the eco it makes. The windows are not new but that is also part of the charm of the guest house! :)

Big bed, nice smelling soap, excellent coffee, close to the river and old town, nice staff, enough towels

There is no lift so if you have a heavy suitcase and a room in3rd floor, be prepared. If you stay more than 2 days, breakfast gets boring. Otherwise breakfast is very good (bread and croassant, some butter and jam, slice of ham and cheese, a portion of yougurt and fruit) but it is the same each day. Heavy traffic very early in the morning, because the accomoddation is by the road and the tunnel - but I am a light sleeper so if you do not have problems with sleep, it would be ok.

This is called a Guest House but is basically a full-service hotel with daily maid service and an adoreable coffee shop on the ground floor for breakfast. The rooms are lovely- the building dates back to 1800s and is remodeled but still has charm. Loved the record player in the room with albums to pick from. The best part is the staff. They went over and above. One young man used the Porto map they have to outline how to do a walking tour- pointing out things we would have not known (places to see, restaurants). Another young man set up a trip to Duoro Valley for us (in a small group of 7). The young women that works in the coffee shop was outstanding also. Breakfast is not included but is delicious! Very close to the riverfront and the bridge.

Be aware that you will have to walk up stairs (maybe 60 or more!) with your luggage but this was not a problem for us. It could be for some travelers. Definitely worth the climb! The hotel is right at the tunnel but our room was not loud (they have shutters to block noise).

We loved the spacious room and the decor. Staff were amazing and extremely helpful and the food was excellent. Couldn’t fault property and its operation.

The street noise was totally unbelievable . Motorcycles on the street and in the tunnel. Not the fault of the property but an issue for the Porto.

Wonderful apartment. Room was super clean and smelt really nice. Check in was easy and bed was comfortable. I highly recommended staying here. Fantastic location also.

A super minor thing but having the two single beds pushed together as a double meant that they moved apart in the night. But that is only a problem if you move a lot in your sleep.

Excellent location. Balcony has a lovely view. Compact room with everything you need for a self catered accommodation. Fernando was extremely helpful, above and beyond. Thank you! Great little bar called the Wine Box immediately next door.

Record player didn’t appear to work. Hairdryer had did not get warm. Table on balcony needed cleaning before we could use. Minor things.

The staff was very friendly, made an amazing breakfast for us, the cafe is super cozy and everything is delicious. In the room everything looks new, the bed is very comfortable and the room and all areas are very clean

The hotel is located in an extremely noisy road. the street below it is at the end of the tunnel and cars honk all the time. The noise is terrible day and night. Would not recommend for light sleepers.
