Beautiful terrace overlooking the rooftops view. Glass of Porto, touches like a waiting glass of port and cuatard made the climb to room 7 worth it. The hostess went beyond the call.. printed a label for forwarding my luggage while on the camino and met the driver so I could start my day rather than waiting around. The second night appreciated that when my reserved room had an issue upgraded my accommodations to a 2 bedroom apartment just steps away rather than many other responses possible. Loved this place!!!

If you have mobility issues with stairs may not be for you.

Great location and wonderful view from our top-floor room, which included a little kitchenette. Marta gave us a warm welcome and provided all kinds of helpful information for us newcomers to Porto. The breakfast was delicious and hearty. Very clean, quiet, and calm place to return to in the evening. We highly recommend Maria da SE!

Due to this being a historic building, there are a few quirks. Narrow staircase up and small reception area, but these are minor things that mattered little.

It's situated in the historical center of Porto, near all famous places of the city. Very kind staff. No problem with arriving or leaving earlier or later, you could leave your baggage here. Very clean. Good wine 🍷 😄 Recommended if you don't plan to stay a lot in the room, it's excellent for enjoying the city tourism.

Rooms are small, some of them go to the street and others to the yard (the wall). We have two different rooms for the same price, but the second one was more dark, tiny and didn't have a wardrobe.

Stayed mid-Sept 2024. Maria da SÉ Historic House is in a wonderful location, very easy to walk to many places in Porto! We had a slightly late check in due to our train arrival time, but Marta sent me a very detailed WhatsApp message with all the information needed to access the building, our room, WiFi, and more. We were delighted by the two glasses of port and two Pasteis de nata waiting for us. Marta and Maria were so helpful and pleasant with our questions. We really appreciated the advice on restaurants where locals go, and also for the help to have our laundry serviced!

My personal preference would be a slightly softer mattress but some people prefer firm.

The location was great, in the middle of the historic district, all the major landmarks were just a few blocks, a lot of nice restaurants and stores nearby. The river just 3 blocks from the apartment. The area felt really safe even walking late at night. The staff was great and very helpful. The room was on the small side but modern and clean. the are felt really safe.I would definitely recommend to stay here.

The room was on the small side, but it was big enough to accommodate both of us and our bags and the location was so good in the middle of the historic district that it made sense to sacrifice a little space for the convenience. I will say it would be difficult to access for a people with mobility issues, the house is in a hill and the room is upstairs, no elevator

The staff, as well as the communication from the staff, was amazing. Every question was answered and the additional information provided was perfect and appreciated. Coffee and pastry were offered when I checked in early. They allowed me to store my bag before my room was ready so I could enjoy Porto after my early morning flight. The location is so very close to the cathedral as well as Sao Bento station. Much, much closer than it looks even. So simple! They took the time to give local recommendations for dining, touring, and general visiting. All were exceptional recommendations. My room was on the 1st floor and just perfect for me. Super comfortable bed and a spotless room. Great shower and bath products provided.

Absolutely nothing. I would stay here again!

The kindness of Maria, she picked UP us to the airport (30€) and made a small tour along the sea shore and the Douro with her car before arriving at the hôtel. The breakfast she prepared was really good and she paid a lot of attention to feel us good in porto. So we appreciate a lot. His hôtel is very central in the old porto.

The room was very small but especially the bathroom which is as small as a motorhome ou saling boat bathroom. It would be acceptable but not the proposed price ( 149 € with bookings). Too expensive for the end of May

This property was fantastic. We had a lovely stay. It was full of charm and character from the common areas to the bedrooms. Whilst it is in a very old building just below the Cathedral the rooms were bright and airy with a modern feel to them. Clearly a lot of thought had gone into the refurbishment ensuring that there was sufficient storage without overcrowding the room. The rooms were immaculately clean and the staff were lovely. We opted for breakfast which was great. A perfect start to the day. The location meant that nothing was more than a 15 min walk away and the staff were happy to give suggestions for places to eat and visit. I hope I come back to Porto sometime and would definitely look to stay here again

There was nothing we didn’t like.

A beautiful guesthouse in the old part of Porto. Unbeatable location for those wanting to be in the thick of things and you are within walking distance of almost all the major attractions. There are some really great bars and restaurants right next to the guesthouse and the staff offers a little port tasting with a pastel de nata upon check-in. Staff was also very kind and willing to accommodate our late check out request. The rooms are spacious and well designed and still have the old architecture of the building featured in the design. The water in the shower was hot and had good pressure and the a/c unit in the room kept us comfortable during the 90°F July heatwave we had while we were there. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay again!

Nothing!

Very quirky set up. Staff were lovely. Everything was clean - good housekeeping. super location. I didn't mind the stairs and a friend was staying in the studio which had a spectacular view.

There was a kettle that was hard to fill with water due to tiny sink - and no cups! The days of shower curtains should be well gone - NO ONE likes a wet curtain sticking to you as you wash. The breakfast had delicious orange juice but no hot drink options.
