Central location, everything from central train station and metro to oldtown is walkable around hotel. It seemed that the area around hotel was safe. Receptionists tracked who are coming in and leaving hotel inside premises and through main lounge are, so again it seemed safe to leave stuff at hotel. The view from window and balcony was directed into municipality square, and the view of Porto was a plus. Room (including bathroom and WC) was pretty clean, the cleaning could be done everyday upon request. Hotel has two stars, and it fits perfectly budget hotel definition what type of amenities is offered and how much you are paying.

Internet speed was ok, but it was unstable during my stay. Another inconvenience was that I have got room at 4th floor, and to reach it, you need to use elevator which was extremely small, and you will need to got through hallway by stepping down couple of stairs and later stepping up of couple stairs. So, individuals who need to use wheelchair or with limited mobility will struggle.

Room was quiet, clean & had working air conditioning. Breakfast is adequate if looking for something quick & simple. Hotel is conveniently located for the city centre with great transport connections. 24 hour reception so no problem with my late flight arrival time.

The size of the bed and it´s proximity to the tourist spots. The gentleman from the night shift who was very warm and helpful.

The toiletries and the freshener they use in the room. I got an instant headache the moment we entered the room caused by the scent of the freshener. It only went away when i opened the window.

My single room was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed. Great view onto the main square. The double glazed window kept out all external noise at night. There was little or no internal noise at night, the room door sealed very well. Good selection for buffet breakfast, the food and drinks you would expect in a Portuguese 2 star hotel. Excellent value for money.

No frills hotel in great location, great connections. Staff was there, unobtrusive but always there to help. Hot water was very hot and almost immediate on the fourth floor.. Price was good. Booking and communication was good. Everything that you need is walking distance away. Perfect spot to explore Porto on foot as all main attractions were a throw away.

The pillows, the only thing that was not comfy.

It was very close to the metro station (just outside the hotel). The hotel is in the city centre. The hotel was clean. The personnel was helpful. Room was comfortable. Bathroom had everything that was needed (shower in the bathtub, bidet, toilet, washbasin, hairdryer)

Not all rooms are on the same level as elevator exit/entrance. It may happen that you have to go down/up a couple of steps to reach your room. But it was clearly stated in the description so I was not surprised.

Great location, easy access, clean rooms. You can open the french door and see the square from your room which is very similar to ST. Wenceslas square in Prague.. Also when looking for the dinner go for Pedro dos Frangos which is just around the corner.

Personally I think the beds are too short comparing with other hotels. While the mattress was ok, I did not have a good sleep.

Third time booking Hotel Paulista . Location is great it is by Aliados metro station , walking distance to all tourist land marks , the view from room is great , you can see all the square and people passing by having fun . Staff are nice and helpful . I joke with friends , that Hotel Paulista is my home when in Portugal 🇵🇹

All good. It is exactly as shown in the pictures, so no complaints. I would even stay here again, no doubts. If I have to be really really choosy, the floor layout and room doors resemble prison cells. Certainly not an issue. Also, the bed was a bit short, about 5'6" if I m right.

The location was excellent and the breakfast was good too. A very convenient place to stay - thank you. Friendly and helpful staff, and lovely to be given a map of the city on arrival. This really helped.

It would have been good to have a small kettle to access in the kitchen area to make cups of tea in the early evening etc..
