BO-Almada is an absolute gem of a find in Porto! It's location is what makes this stay so amazing, it is a 15 minute walk (or less) to all major attractions around the area, and is about a 5-7 minute walk to the nightlife district. It is surrounded by cool restaurants in the neighbourhood, and there is a lot of foot traffic making this area safe for all kinds of travellers. Bonus points that its only a 1 minute walk from a Laundromat so we were able to keep our clothes clean, no need for a washer/drier in the stay itself. The staff were responsive and quick to reply to our inquiries (thanks Alex!).

There are only a few thing that could have made our stay slightly better: - The bathroom was not super well ventilated and had a mildew-y smell sometimes - The room is equipped with a mini fridge, not a full sized one - No elevator only stairs, if you have mobility issues might not be for you

We had a great stay at BO - Almada! The host, Alex, was incredibly attentive: helping us set up transport from the airport to the accommodation, facilitating our late check-in, fixing an unexpected issue we had with the AC remote in one of our rooms, accommodating two last-minute additions to our group. The rooms were clean and comfortable, just as photographed. The location is amazing, with several stores (groceries, books, furniture, souvenirs, clothing, stationery, etc.), cinemas, and fun activities (escape rooms and mini arcade) at walking distance. There are also many restaurants nearby (there is a great Italian restaurant just downstairs, a Thai(?) place at the corner, and a phenomenal meat restaurant just down the road), though it takes some internet sleuthing and a keen eye (we literally missed the entrance to Flow because the sign is minuscule) to find alternatives.

The building is old, so noise from people walking in their own rooms and in the rooms above is audible (however, the hosts are upfront about this, posting a sign in the room addressing it and requesting for noise to be moderated after 10 pm). This wasn't a major disturbance, but just requires you to be conscious and considerate during early and late hours. The bigger malls and touristic sites are further away (typically a 20- to 30-minute drive); this didn't affect us, as we were more interested in leisurely sightseeing, but it might be a downside for someone who would like to be closer to the touristic hubs.

Nice property. Everything you need is provided. Very quiet. We really enjoyed it and would not hesitate to go back or recommend it. Very central to all areas of Porto.

If you were being really fussy the place needs a paint. It’s the end of the season and it’s probably been exceptionally busy. There has been a few water leaks showing on ceiling. Bathroom needs painted door area and a few holes filled. Shower needs a little attention. The balcony needs a bit of a tidy up weeds etc. The property is up several flights of stairs which wasn’t a problem for us but might be for some people. That’s me being picky!!

The room was spacious and was nice to have a sitting area and small kitchen. The location was great, easy walk to shops, restaurants close by and a little farther walk down to the waterfront.

The building is older, understandably there are going to be a few creaks in the floors. The bedroom floors were loud enough to wake the other person up on the midnight trips to the bathroom. Also, the room only had 2 bath towels, only one hand towel and one dish towel for the two of us. We did ask for additional towels, but they never arrived while we were there. Shower could have used a bath mat in front of it too.

My stay was perfect for what I needed. No nonsense approach, easy check in but people on hand if ever required. The room was great, very clean and spacious with gorgeous Portuguese features like the wooden window shutters. Great location, very central and not up a steep hill! Would recommend to others

Only downsides to this property were that I would’ve appreciated some water in the fridge when I arrived as lots of properties in Portugal do this with it advised not to drink the tap water. It meant having to walk to the shop as soon as I got there after a long journey! As well as this, somewhere close by has music that goes on during the day and until around 11pm with a base which can make it difficult to sleep if you’re an early sleeper!

This place is amazing! It has everything you need and is perfectly located in the center of Porto — you really couldn’t ask for a better spot. We would definitely recommend it to others. Alex was also great and made sure our check-in went smoothly.

The only downside was the noise from the floors; you can hear other guests walking around and going down the stairs, which was a bit disruptive at times. Still, overall, we had an amazing stay!

Alex, the manager, gave us a great welcome with a lot of valuable advice what to see and how best to use our time in Porto.

It’s a great place very well arranged. The floor boards are a little creaking, which is fine with us but might annoy the person living below, and so we heard every step of the person above. But need to expect that in an old building (which, by the way, is very nicely refurbished inside).

We had to switch hotels, and we found BO Almada on booking.com. They responded within 30min and provided us with help and a room. It was incredible fast and amazing. THe apartment is perfectly located in the centre, in the street where the apartment is located, u have several restaurants, and shops. The aparment is equiped with all you need. The room is spacious. We loved staying here

Location is just great for the best bits of Porto. Close to all the stations as well so we could take day trips. The place is modern and inviting and the staff were so kind. Even though the staff don’t live on site there was someone at the property to welcome us after 2am when our flight was significantly delayed. He even carried our bags up 3 flights of stairs.

The Balcony at the back of the premises where we were isn’t inviting to sit out on, the photos hide the view which isn’t the best. we didn’t venture out at all but it didn’t spoil the stay.

Would not be a better location than this place, which was extremely clean and also had everything one would need from a property of this size. Very good value.

Location was magnificent, in fact, perfect, also, there is an extremely clean property with a lift and everything you would need from our apartment of this size, self-contained kitchen, comfortable, queen bed, air conditioning etc.
