The location was in the heart of the old town and within easy walking distance of the river, plazas, shops & restaurants. The apartment accommodated x4 and was clean with modern furnishing. The pool is a lovely feature and a main attraction at the point of booking. Reception personnel were pleasant and helpful, and booking info in advance and access to the room on arrival were all clear and operated smoothly. Cleaning service was effective & efficient.

The apartment provided access to a garden that did not invite sitting out; it was plain to the point of barren. Described as "apartment with garden view" it was underwhelming with nothing to recommend it. The pool opened 9.30 to 7.00pm and closes to align with operation times of a restaurant from 7pm. The restaurant does not open Sunday nor Monday and pool access still remains closed early evening; this is a pity as it would be a very pleasant area for hotel guests to relax & enjoy a dip, drink & bite to eat after a day of sightseeing.

Clean, comfortable, nice that it was over two levels, great location, all the furniture and fittings we needed. Staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. Great to be sent the entrance codes via WhatsApp so we could check in late.

The bedroom had a circular window that didn’t have a blind/curtain so it let in lots of street lighting. We covered it with a pillow. We couldn’t use the pool for a second time as there was building work going on. It created lots of dust and noise. Most of the sun loungers had been moved away so they could work so there wasn’t any space to sit as the remaining loungers were taken up. It was lovely to use the pool the day before this started though.

Everything was great, ultra clean, they did daily cleaning, everyone was super friendly, anything is solved super fast, superb experience. Location is very central. I really don't see how it could have been better for us and what we were looking for. Beds are super comfortable. Room had really ultra high ammount of space. Kitchen is really fully equiped (except for oven which is probably the only thing that you don't have).

Take note that the pool is not heated as listed somewhere - I don't think that anyone wants to go in pool in December/January, but if that's the only reason why you are coming, you should reconsider. The area is somewhat limited in access for cars and quite steep, so it might be difficult for disabled people to enjoy to the fullest here. Nearby we saw some homeless people but nobody did any type of harm, there are a lot of homeless people in Portugal in general.

The location of PipaD'Oro is fantastic, right at the heart of the historical center, yet quiet, Walking distance to Duoro river, close to shops, cafes, restaurants. The pool is small but cozy, with amazing views over Porto. The breakfast was delivered to the room every morning and it significantly exceeded our expectations. Loads of food, fresh, tasty, all you might need and want and more. Just great! Last, but not least, the staff was fantastic, accommodating, nothing was of a problem, everyone very polite, with a lot of local knowledge, sort of calm, unassuming hospitality. Special shout out to Nicolau and Diogo, we had amazing time, thank you!

I had to think very hard to put any comment here and the only one I can think of is lack of chairs at the balcony. that's all. didn't bother us too much but would be a nice addition to have a small table and chairs outside.

In a very good location, with a short walk to the centre. The welcome was incredible, with a very helpful and engaging host who took plenty of time to explain about the accommodation and then proceeded to help immensely by showing all the places on the map, and how to get there. What a great start to the stay, and then we looked at the pool, and the view from there was spectacular. The apartment we had, on entering was breathtakingly clean, and everything was neat, tidy and comfortable. The building is very secure, and keyless locks with keypad entry adds an extra layer and no need for keys which could be lost. Everything about Pipa D'Oro was top drawer, and I would not hesitate to stay here again, and highly recommend it, as the staff, facilities and friendliness was almost like being one of a family.

Nothing not to like, as everything was perfect

Nic was extremely friendly, informative and helpful throughout our stay. The interiors of the property were finished to a high finish throughout. Apartment had a calm relaxed, quiet atmosphere. Amazing location in the old town, lots of attractions and amenities a short walk away.

The exterior areas were shabby compared to the high finish of the interiors. The pool areas needed a revamp. The "Garden" that our apartment had access to was abysmal. All of the furniture needs to be replaced. Our apartment was not in the main building where the pool was, it was across the road. I don't think it was advertised as this.

The hotel was beautiful. The staff, reception area and views from the room, with the Pool area being the best of the lot. Lovely to come back to on a hot afternoon for some relaxation after a day exploring the city. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Rooms are big, clean, safe and quiet. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely stay here again. Close to some really nice restaurants, and very close to other parts of the city.

The sofa bed. The only thing stopping us giving this a 10 rating was the sofa bed (for my 13 year-old daughter). This really needs replacing in the room we stayed in. It was impossible to sleep on. Noisy/creaky whenever you moved, and the springs/poles sticking through the mattress. She couldn't sleep which meant I had to on the last night, resulting in little sleep for myself. A Shame because the rest of the hotel is gorgeous, and it would have been a 10 if there was only 2 of us and not needing the sofa bed.

Piedro and his colleagues on reception were really helpful in every way. The apartment was well thought out and had everything we needed, including kettle and coffee machine (Dolce Gusto) - big plus points. The location was excellent and the pool looked amazing even though we didn't have a chance to use it.

There were no real minus points, but I can imagine that in the hotter months the bedroom area (which is a kind 'box' within the main room) could become quite hot as it is far away from the air conditioning unit.

Incredible river view with balcony that overlooked pool, comfortable bed, kitchenette, and great location - all was within walking distance so no need to use public transportation. Also had an elevator and a restaurant downstairs. Learned you can reserve for a breakfast but need to do so in advance.

Strong sewage smell emanating from bathroom (informed front desk after checking in and was told she would check to see if it was outside of the normal- she tried to blame it on river tides but it was constant throughout our stay). Maybe it was the plumbing since shower floor was bouncy like walking on a trampoline. The floor didn’t bother us, just the smell.

The location and view are truly the best — overlooking the city and river, and surrounded by beautiful spots and gardens. The apartment was neat, clean, and equipped with everything you could possibly need and with wonderful balcony. I was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a larger space with an even better view. Diogo was very helpful, and Nicolau was always available — he’s the boss! Without hesitation, I would definitely stay here again ))
