A beautiful stay | great location as its a quick walk to airport | had welcome drinks for family | breakfast was amazing and delivered at chosen time | comfortable beds | bathroom spacious with a great shower

We booked the hotel Solar Antigo Porto for one night but when we arrived there we were told that we had the option to spend the night in their brand new hotel Solar Antigo Luxury, just 500 metres from the original hotel. I can say this was a total surprise, we had an amazing experience seeing that they had upgraded our stay to some luxury 5 star state of the art, totally amazing brand new room, the bed was so confortable, the bathroom beautifully and there was also a jacuzzi in the room which we were told it wasn’t yet functional. In addition, they also added free transport/ transfer there and back to the airport from our hotel, we were also offered prosecco at a a convenient time and free breakfast in the early morning. The staff were incredibly professionally and kind (lovely Ana at reception), there was also another lady in the lobby who was very friendly and kind, I’m sorry I don’t remember her name, and the driver in the morning (bless him!), nothing at all was too much trouble for them. We would highly recommend to anyone wishing to visit Porto to stay here, is not just a room, it’s a connection with Portuguese art! I will most definitely be back! Carmen & Ben Phipps (UK)

everything was fine!

We were a family of four and were actually transferred upon arrival to another building, Solar Antigo Luxury — and we absolutely loved it! The blue hand-painted tiles with touches of gold and red added a beautiful and luxurious charm to the entire accommodation. Simply stunning! Aside from that, everything was wonderful. Mariana took great care of us, and a big thank you as well to the kind gentleman who made us delicious scrambled eggs with bacon and even brought us to the airport. Excellent service and a lovely experience overall!

One small downside: although we had a jacuzzi in our bedroom, there was an additional €50 fee to use it. Just a little suggestion — it would feel more welcoming if this was already included in the room rate, especially since it’s already there.

What an amazing surprise this place was! We got asked on arrival if we would like to go and try their sister hotel only opened 3 weeks ago. Was a bit wary as to why they asked us to go but was explained to us it wasn’t on any sites yet as only just opened and best way to launch it was to show guests. What can I say! Brilliant airport hotel. A feast for the eyes. Quirky, arty with lots of funky hand painted Portuguese tiles and a lot of gold influence which we loved as fun and different A lot of effort has went into this place. A jacuzzi bath in the room. Not a sound from airport. Immaculate, little extras like juice and beer in fridge for guests complimentary. Nothing was a bother for the wonderful staff. The lovely young man who had only been there for weeks couldn’t do enough for us and took us over to show us. Lovely girl on reception. Great continental breakfast at 4.15am with amazing coffee and driver to take us the 6min walk to airport in a car. He was so friendly and chatted away apologies I wish I could remember their names. Def recommend and we will be back as use Porto airport a lot.

Nothing could’ve been better at all.

The staff are absolutely amazing, so friendly and couldn't do enough to help us - going way out of their way to heat some milk for our little one and make us so comfortable. The room was very clean and comfy. They provided us with a bed for our little one and it was made up so nicely! We could see the airport from the hotel but there was very little noise - so the perfect place to stay before or after a flight. The cake on arrival as well as the breakfast basket really made the stay just out of this world. The shower was phenomenal and the bed was very large, soft and comfortable. We got a free shuttle to the airport, thanks to the hotel as we had a toddler and bags but it would've only been a short walk away (6 mins apparently). I honestly wish we could've stayed longer to enjoy the breakfast and shower with a lie in as well, but the 6 am flight (breakfast starts from 2 am!) meant we'll just have to come back again with a later flight!

The hotel was very pretty. The bed was comfortable. The only thing I couldn't get turned on was the Jacuzzi. Not sure it worked. other than that everything was perfect. The welcome wine was perfect. The only store was a bit of a walking distance but once I figured the bus, it worked out fine. The breakfast was definitely a plus. And the shuttle service was awesome. It wasn't walking distance from the airport as I read the reviews before I booked, because I was taken to a new hotel a bit further away.

There wasn't much I didn't like. Everything was great.

We wanted something close to the airport as we got in late and it was a quick 5 minute walk away. The staff were super friendly they gave us homemade yogurt cake when we arrived and a nice breakfast basket in the morning before we left. They also showed us where to get the metro in the morning into the city centre.

Nothing really only downside is we couldn’t figure out how to get the shuttle from the airport which you would really only need if you had a lot of luggage. We only had backpacks and it was a nice walk in the fresh air after being on planes.

A very good airport hotel. It's in easy walking distance from the airport, though the staff accommodated us with a shuttle service as we had a small baby. The shower in the room was a particular highlight. It had 4 modes and lots of water pressure. The breakfast was also very nice. It's delivered to the rooms at a time of your choosing - any time after 2am which is great if you have an early flight. We had our breakfast at 6:30. The selection was very nice. The rooms have coffee machines but not kettles; we needed a kettle to make up milk for our baby. The reception worker kindly provided some in thermos flasks.

We stayed in this airport hotel as our flights were very early morning. We were met at the door by 2 very friendly young ladies who insisted on carrying our bags. Once in our rooms we were presented with a complimentary glass of fizz and a slice of cake each. We were told that the drinks in the minibar were complimentary and our included breakfast would be delivered to our room early in the morning in a basket. The rooms are outstanding and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. This hotel has no communal room or restaurant but an outside 1st floor terrace. This hotel is definitely for one night prior to flying out or flying in later in the day.

Convenient to airport, great staff and shuttle service. We had an early flight but they were able to accommodate taking us to the airport. If the weather is nice and you do not have many luggage, you can walk to the airport. We had 5 luggage so having a 24/7 shuttle service is a plus. Need to be sure to make your reservation with the front desk though. We had to be out early so did not have breakfast but they are willing to pack breakfast for you if you want. Close to the vehicle rental drop off (less than 10 minutes walk).
