We loved our stay here! Staff was very friendly, food was good (breakfast, especially fruits and filter coffee, as well as the restaurant menu for lunch/dinner) and we had a beautiful view from our room to the bay. Free shuttle service to town two times a day (morning and early afternoon) and one back after sunset. In my opinion, Shark Bay is the most beautiful beach on Koh Tao (compared to the other ones we visited: Freedom/Taa Toh, Tanote, Aow Leuk, Sai Nuan, Sairee and Mae Haad). Before booking, we spent several weeks looking at different options and while on the island we saw some of the other hotels we had been thinking about and they were not nearly as nice as Haadtien. I don’t understand the bad reviews - it is a paradise and I would come back any time!

We stayed in the room with a stunning view over the sea and jungles. The property has a very nice pool area and offers different activities like SAP and kayaking for free. The breakfast was amazing - wide range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Great coffee!

The property looks stylish yet needs repair. The room looks a bit used and tired. It is possible to swim in the sea only until 11 am, after 11 am water gets very dirty.

We had the most amazing view of the beach. Both of the pools were fantastic and the beach was beautiful. Staff were always happy!

Our room was outdated and wasn’t very clean the toilet smelt at night. The hotel is located up the mountain about 15 minute drive. The only way to get there and back was a taxi which was expensive or the hotel shuttle. But the hotel shuttle only ran 3 days a day and the timings were poor. Everyone wanted to get a shuttle at 6pm for sunset so it was really full one evening we had to sit on the back end of the shuttle. We then needed to get taxis back each night.

Amazing little beach, nice hotel.

For people who don’t like steps there are a lot. The transfer service back to hotel was only once per day or night. This meant it cost 400B every time you wanted to go out for dinner somewhere different.

The most beautiful beach we’ve ever seen. So clean, beautiful waters and a perfect place for snorkeling. Lots of turtles to be found. The beach and views are outstanding. We’d definitely stay here again. The grounds of the hotel though were maintained beautifully. There is a great little Thai restaurant next to the hotel for snacks and authentic food in the day time. We also had a delicious authentic meal at the hotel restaurant one evening. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating The shuttle service was a bonus, just a shame that there wasn’t a later time available for the bus return from Sairi beach as the latest one is 7.30pm. At Sairi beach there are so many lovely bars and restaurants to choose from. Koh Tao is one of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed. Especially being on Shark Bay. Outstanding and hope to return one

The hotel itself is currently expanding so there is some construction work taking place not that it impacted our stay. Only criticism is that the hotel, pools, public bathrooms didn’t seem to be cleaned regularly which I think the hotel could improve upon.

This hotel is absolutely stunning! We had a beautiful room with an amazing view of the sea and beach. We even received an upgrade for a special occasion, which made our stay even more memorable. It truly felt like a dream hotel. The hotel has two pools, each offering a different vibe, both perfect for relaxing. You can also enjoy excellent snorkeling. Snorkels are available for rent at the bar (though a bit expensive). Highly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable experience!

The only downside is that the prices at the bar and restaurant were quite high, comparable to or even more expensive than European prices. This is a bit unfortunate because there are no other food options nearby. The hotel is located in the mountains, so you either have to pay for expensive taxis to get to the city or rent a scooter. Keep in mind that the road to the hotel is steep and winding, without lighting in the evening.

Nice rooms , cosy and clean, nice view, 3 swimming pools , the beach is almost a private property , and it is a stunning location even for snorkeling. Perfect breakfast in the morning . The place is quiet and relaxing . Every services is more expensive than in town but the Spa is really a must Free shuttle more than 3 times a day to the main pier . Really helpful and nice staff I stayed longer than I was supposed to , and it was my second stay in this hotel . I love it

10 mn on foot from the first « village » on a steep road with no lights at night but that’s also why the location is quiet I tried the restaurant 3 times, which is more expensive than in town and it was just average food . Nothing to do with HaadTien but some tourists don’t even bother to answer when you say hello, and should be nicer with the staff of the hotel

The Beach needs to be protectet by the owners. All the tourists have to go trough the corals to get to deeper water. The whole Reef ist dead. Recovery under this circumstances seems.to bei Impossible. I would recommend to build a Footbridge which leads to deeper Waters. See *Breakers Hotel Soma Bay Egypt. The whole Reef is protectet you should follows this example!

Positively surprised about free pick-up from the pier to the resort; greeted by very friendly bell boy from Burma. We arrived hours before check-in time but we were allowed to use all facilities (incl. 3 pools, free 1h kayak, and more) Handed out beach towels to us so we could start our stay. Got a very warm welcome from the super nice Dave from the Philippines (we think he's the manager). He talked us through all their services when we got down to the restaurant on our way to our beach swim. Came to our table the next morning and had a nice talk with him. Too bad we only booked one night; but it gave us more reason to return to this resort! The private beach and clear blue water are DIVINE. Breakfast is very decent, too. Check-out was at 11:00 AM, but our ferry to Koh Pha-ngan wasn't until 3:30 PM. We were allowed to hop on their 2 PM shuttle to the pier, and keep using all their facilities and services until then. So we did: swam in the ocean, went kayaking for free, had drinks by the beach bar, some more swimming in the pools until it was time to leave. DEFINITELY SOMETHING OTHER HOTELS CAN LEARN FROM! The bathroom was too simple and small, in comparison to the room. Also too much limescale on the tiles and hardware which gave it an aged look and feel. We booked a Deluxe Room with Ocean View, too bad our view was blocked by the restaurant's rooftop and trees which pretty much ruined the whole view and vibe for balcony chillings we had in mind when booking this room. Also, we find it such a waste most resorts serve good breakfast, but when it comes to their dining menu... it's all Western food like pizzas and burgers. The restaurant 'Capri' said it all. We're in Thailand! It's OK to serve authentic Thai dishes. Tourists LOVE Thailand AND THAI FOOD! Even though Capri had a small selection of Thai food, the ones we ordered were decent but of course expensive like most resorts are.
