We arrived really late at night so the drive up the mountain roads were not easy. Parking was ok (fortunately we hired a small car). The receptionist was very friendly and we were surprised by the size of the room. Next morning when we were able to checkout the view from the balcony - wow, it was breathtaking, Mount Etna and the sea in the backdrop was simply stunning. We couldn't stop taking pictures and spending every waking moment looking at the view - and when Etna erupted it was phenomenal. All the hotel staff have been extremely polite, helpful and always happy to greet us. Shuttle bus to Taormina centre was very convenient, giving us the option to not stress about parking / parking fees. Villa Angela is definitely one of our favourite hotels, thank you for making it such a memorable experience :)

Pillows were too soft, and the duvet was way to thick for summer! The AC was OK but quite noisy. Breakfast was slightly disappointing - for the room price we expected greater variety (particularly hot food). We had dinner there one evening, price was reasonable but food can be better.

This beautiful Villa is a home from home. Relaxing, welcoming with a sense of luxury in a homely manner. The staff are beyond helpful and for us offered a special touch of care to make our journey even easier. The decor is inspiring and detailed, the open spaces are designed for comfort where you never feel alone but also part of the Villa. The breakfast is beautifully prepared, offering a difference everyday and lovingly presented. The rooms are relaxing, and designed to take in the breath taking view - as every room is a room with a view. It is a place we will return to time and time again.

What a fantastic place! Definitely one of the highlights of our holiday in Sicily. A stunning location overlooking the town of Taormina, the sea and Mount Etna. To wake up to that view of a snow-capped Etna from our bedroom window was quite amazing and mesmerizing! Breakfast and dinner in the dining room, with its floor to ceiling windows and incredible panoramic view, were equally memorable, and the same in the comfortable bar/lounge area. Lovely, helpful staff, excellent food. They provided a shuttle service to and from Taormina at regular intervals throughout the day and evening. There is also a bus stop not far away - although, when we wanted to get to Castelmola, the bus passed us by as it was already full. We ended up walking. Quite an achievement! Proud we did it. The hotel is also a short walk away from the Castello di Taormina and the Madonna della Rocca church. I can't emphasise enough the stunning views from all around here. First class service all around. A wonderful place to stay. We were only here for two nights. Would have happily stayed longer!

This nice traditional hotel with authentic Italian/Sicilian vibe offers an amazing view over Giardini Naxos and Mount Etna, that you admire it from your terrace or balcony. Even if you first think it’s quite far from the vibrant city, you can enjoy walking 20 mins down the stairs (648 steps) from Chiesa Madonna della Rocca to Piazza IX Aprile, admiring the best view over Taormina , the Greek Theatre and the Ionian Sea, and get back to the hotel on the shuttle driven by an excellent, italian driver. The breakfast buffet offers a variety of options, including local traditional food, delicious fresh fruits, pastries, coffee, etc.

Our room was much smaller than in a pictures, the furniture old and unmaintained, definitely not on 4 stars standards and quality. Furniture should be reconditioned and maintained to bring the vibe and local authenticity.

Room/balcony Views of Etna. Staff were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. Comfy bed, good A/C, great shower. We had a rental car though the regular shuttle bus was superb. Etna was blowing off every night over our 10 day stay. Amazing views !

No Sky channels or English speaking tv channels except for CNN. Room Spa bath didn’t work. Breakfast - Bacon/eggs/mushrooms etc was cold most mornings. Would suggest a microwave at the dining area. Parking was tight however the staff will accommodate moving your car when spaces become available.

The location was stunning!!! Every detail throughout the hotel had so many personal touches . The hotel staff were so accommodating and extremely friendly!! We were also very fortunate to meet some of the family!! This is definitely a hidden gem!!

What an exceptional place to stay. It was deluxe. The hotel itself was absolutely gorgeous, the views stunning and the rooms were deluxe. The beds comfortable, huge private terrace, high end toiletries, grand lounge and bar area, expansive terraces to eat your meals or have a drink, very clean and lovely swimming pool and towels provided, and exceptional staff. Beautifully decorated. A very convenient shuttle will take you into the old town and bring you back from morning until almost midnight. Easy to schedule or modify timing via Whatsapp which the hotel staff are immediately responsive to. The food was stellar at the hotel. The breakfast was extensive with SO many options. Wander the town, shop, have drinks, take in the sites...but come back to the hotel for dinner and late night drinks, and enjoy them on the gorgeous terrace with the view of the sea, mountains and Mount Etna in the distance - all sparkling with the lights at night. Bar staff were wonderful too for a late night drink. I would visit again and stay here again. You have to go - at least once in your lifetime. Outstanding. Side mention that the Villa is owned by Jim Kerr, the front man of the band the 'Simple Minds' and managed by a family member who was very gracious with all the guests questions and interest in the band. He was very nice, and hard working along with the rest of the staff. We didn't know this when we reserved the Villa but it was a nice piece of information as we are big fans of the band and had just seen them live in June. :)

I would challenge anyone to find a single thing to complain about at Villa Angela.

This is a stunning hotel full of character and interesting artwork. The views from all the rooms are sensational and our room had a large balcony with two loungers . The bar has wonderful views and at night there is a stunning view of the lights stretching for miles . It is in a very quiet location and close to some good restaurants. The shuttle service runs into the town on a regular basis and the trip only takes 5-10 minutes . This was excellent and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to a memorable stay.

I know why they charge for the shuttle service and it is a very reasonable price and an invaluable and efficient service - however i query given the cost of staying at the hotel and its location as to why it is not a free service? Or a nuber of journeys are not gratis and then charged after reaching limit? Dinner menus - food is very good and service excellent however the offer is limited and does not change. Also more choices for lunch snacks would be appreciated.

This was the best hotel we stayed in during our 2 week trip to Sicily. We felt comfortable and relaxed as soon as we arrived. First impressions count and we were immediately impressed by the guy who helped us park our rather large hire car in the car park and assisted us with our luggage. Our room was perfect and we had a wonderful view of the town and bay below and Mt Etna across the hills. The shuttle bus down into the town was efficient and easy. Breakfast was excellent. We ate in the hotel on 2 nights of our 3 night stay and the food was simple but delicious with excellent service. On our last night we ate our meal with a view of Mt Etna erupting - quite incredible. We honestly didn't want to leave.
