What a wonderful surprise in the middle of the Midlands! Old English country feel hotel on the banks of a beautiful river. Recently renovated, our one night stopover should have been a few days. Excellent food and service. Staff so friendly and helpful. We also treated ourselves with a spa experience! Excellent and a must when you visit this gem of a place!!

Beautiful place to stay to relax and reset I loved how detailed everything is from the setup of the room to the aesthetics The spa was the best experience i have had in kzn. They are so well trained and provided such a relaxing atmosphere and really outdone themselves with the massages.Dinner and breakfast was delicious

i really didn't like the lunch menu as i feel it was not value for money and didn't taste nice at all.

Staff and management were amazing. Aways friendly and helpful. Always ready to go the extra mile. Comfy and spacious. Free soft drinks and water provided daily in handy little bar fridge. Quiet with lovely view from private patio. We will be back.

Lighting could be a little brighter at night for reading. In due course could perhaps have fitted plug points for charging phones etc, but really not a train smash.

Food and pairing experience was exceptional. Staff amazingly helpful and friendly. Rooms cosy and cleaned well.

Rooms could be decorated more modern and less rustic. Although very comfortable and cosy- a little upgrade would be nice. With more light in the rooms and the patio. The gardens are lovely but trees should be manicured for more sunlight to be allowed onto the premises.

Picture perfect setting, amazing staff, beautiful views from the suites, great food. It's a peaceful, beautiful place. Dudu at the restaurant is a super star 🌟

Waited an hour for breakfast one morning, was a busy day, kitchen a bit overwhelmed perhaps. Fires in fireplaces very smokey, either wet wood or not enough flame. Not much not to like, it's a fantastic place.

The staff were wonderful. Everything was spotless, and the bed was super comfortable. Love the fresh new look of the lounge and dining areas since we last visited. Lovely toiletries.

The smell of air freshener as you walk into the room is really off-putting. How about a beautiful linen spray with essential oils instead? Their were cigarette butter in the bin on the verandah. Sadly, dinner was a terrible letdown. The meals are pricey and in such a lovely setting, and yet the lamb shank was dry and tough, and the prawn pasta was rubbery and lacked flavour. A decent chef or a significant reduction in menu price is needed!.

The gardens were beautiful, with surprises around every corner. Lunch and dinner were nice, and the staff at reception were friendly and accommodating.

Nothing in particular. However the breakfast menu was limiting - the cold buffet could offer more options - and the playlist in the dining room was on repeat. We also found our room small for a family of three.

This one takes the cup i must say, hospitality and excellence in service is their top priority! We were well received, respected, well served during all meal times, the staff well trained, place is very clean and spacious, they had a white gown and disposable slippers! The spa, I enjoyed my massages so much!

A bit pricey but worth every penny!You pay even for the tray R50 if you ask for room service! They can try be a bit flexible.

The room was beautiful and spacious. It was winter and really cold, but the room was fully equipped for this. We were shown to a comfortably heated room. Welcome drinks were offered, and lunch and breakfast were both delicious. In the room fridge were complementary waters and Coke. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making our stay very special.

Food was excellently prepared and presented. The staff went out of their way to please.

The altercation with badly behaving guests. Security should have thrown out the misbehaving guests sooner. The menu could change after a few days: it was a small irritation for us who stayed a week, but probably not for those who stay for a shorter period.
