Nostalgia. The Food is absolutely top notch especially the beef Guinness pie. Clean linen.

I stayed in room 16. The bathroom definitely needs a scrub the walls tiles and ceiling. Had a cockroach in my room. And guys a bottle of water would be great at least for the price I pay for the room. O yes and please I think it is definitely time to replace the towels.

The Nottingham Road Hotel is a funky, old-fashioned, wood-paneled place, staffed with easy-going enthusiastic young people. It is easy to find, conveniently located, and with large grounds and ample parking thereon. Show up on a Friday or Saturday and it will be immediately obvious that this is the local hotspot, gathering a crowd from far and wide. As American visitors, we had a fun-filled evening watching the South Africa vs Ireland Rugby World Cup match, when the house was filled to overflowing with enthusiastic patrons, decked out in suitable Springbok attire. No thirst went unquenched, and over 150 pizzas were served that night, I was told later. "All were had by a good time", as they say. Excellent comfort food and service too in both Notties Pub and on the restaurant side! Notties Pub gear is available for sale in the reception area. Highly recommended!

WiFi away from the reception, pub and restaurant areas was sketchy at best.

The tranquility of this pub keeps me coming back year after year. The pub itself is full of history withits creaking wood floors, and awesome fire place to keep you warm most of the year. the staff are well mannered, and helpful, and it seems every patron comes in with the expectation of joyfullness making it a great place to stay

Great location on the Meander. Easy access to all of the major sites to visit & close enough to Durban to make it a quick weekend getaway. Food was out of the top drawer, both in the pub/restaurant & for breakfast. Pub was fun and full of interesting people so well worth sitting around & enjoying the atmosphere. Management & Reception very friendly, accommodating & professional.

Room quality was a little disappointing - lacked any windows which was an indicator to the 'dated' hotel. I do know there were 'garden' rooms' which I am sure had more windows

The best location for being in the Natal Midlands. The choice of breakfasts was extensive, different and delicious. We asked for our room to be changed to a garden view and it was done with minimum fuss and lots of help. All the staff, from reception to cleaning to dining room are helpful and put in the effort to make one’s stay comfortable.

A few trees for shade in the parking area would be a good move.

We had a garden view unit which is great for smokers as you can pop outside. The food was amazing husband had the lamb shank which was very tasty with yummy crisp veggies. I had the lamb curry which was just perfect with pompodums rice,banana and coconut just perfect.

That we didn't get to stay longer.

Good size room. Unfortunately no real view. Rooms with garden view preferable. Lovely pub with friendly and warm atmosphere. Staff and patrons alike. Closest to a genuine English pub (before the current so-called gastro pubs) one can get in RSA. Wonderful beef and Guinness pies. Breakfast also excellent. Wife said best eggs benedict she's had in a long time. Overall great stay.

I have to say, we had an absolute ball in your pub, it really rocks, just my husband and I sat in the pub people watching... wow, its an amazing spot, your bar staff are so friendly, the vibe is good and of course the fact that you had Black Label on tap made my husbands day. thanks for a marvelous stay. we loved it. and will definately come back --- not to forget the delicious breakfasts we had.

Absolutely nothing annoyed us, and trust me when I say I am easily irritated.

The breakfast was made to order and we ate a few dinners in the restaurant and bar. The food is tasty and the bar was lots of fun. We enjoyed hanging out in the garden (when it wasn't raining) and the atmosphere was great. The frotn of house crew were really helpful with advice on where to go and what to do.

The service in the restaurant was lacking and the staff in there weren't as friendly as the bar and front of house staff. To be fair, we stayed over Christmas and it was a really busy weekend. The rest of the stay was great.

I loved the accommodation as it was clean , peaceful and beautiful. The staff were incredibly friendly and the bedroom turnovers were quick and efficient. The gardens are beautifully well maintained.

I would have expected breakfast to be included in the price as it was R3000 for x2 nights. R120 for breakfast ontop of that without a drink is rather expensive and due to the accommodation prices I would have like for there to be breakfast included in the R1500 per night.
