I stay at this hotel once a year for work and I really recommend it. Very friendly restaurant staff, nice rooms with comfortable beds and good amount of pillows. Great parking, lots of spaces in the retail park. I like the online check out option and the QR ordering in the restaurant (you could also order at the bar)
My only criticism is this was the second time there was no yogurt at breakfast. As someone who only eats yogurt for breakfast this made the continental option a bit pointless. It didn’t run out, they just didn’t have it and since it’s on the menu I find it odd that would happen more than once. Very minor issue to be fair

Loved that we could just walk across to the smash burger restaurant which are brilliant for food intolerances & if you are an oat milk drinker they sell it in the Dobbie's garden centre nearby & theres a Costa. There was a bus station really close with lots of regular buses. Also the hotel is very close to an adventure golf , bowling alley & cinema.
The rooms were comfortable but unfortunately they weren't clean. There was dust on the skirtings & we had dust allergies. We got blocked noses from being in the room. The restaurant downstairs doesn't do oat milk & they tried to send me way down the road to find more when I soon discovered I didnt have to go so far. They didn't really accommodate for intolerances & the train stations were quite far along carriage way straights & with suitcases it was quite difficult so we had to rely on buses to the hotel which soon added up the money spent.

Has been decorated and renovated since stayed last year. Carpets were cleaned second day there and minimal disruption as whole ground floor was being refurbished as well
Restraint staffing and service delivery. Dirty night had family meal and was excellent service. Not so second night and different team. After night ones excellent service and meal we brought the family ( all adults) and service fell apart. Had to chase to get drinks order, get meal order taken and then chase for desserts and finally the bill was wrong. Also member of staff had gone off duty that had originally opened tab on system so bill could not be shut down and cleared . Duty manager had to call member of staff for their PIN code so could close out and pay. 25 minute delay in departing. Not one apology was made by the duty manager . Her attitude was one of total indifference

Rooms clean and comfortable. Bathrooms ok. Good parking. Excellent location for our purpose. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Great carvery and restaurant food. Didn't have breakfasts.
Toilet seat in first room was loose but was fixed eventually. Weak water pressure in showers. Some of the pub areas and furniture looked very tired and worn out and in need of some refurbishment. Most of the garden furniture was rickety, unsteady, wobbly and unusable! Sure both customers and especially the great staff here would appreciate it!

Excellent value for money and the location was perfect for us. The hotel is located in Fife Leisure Park, so there are multiple facilities in walking distance (restaurants, multiplex cinema, spa, indoor golf, bowling alley). Staff were generally helpful and obliging and the adjoining hotel restaurant serves amazing breakfasts.
Arriving at the pub just before ten and being told I was too late as they close at ten. When I pointed out it was not quite ten (it was 2157 and there were still other customers there), I was told that because I was not physically present when they called "Last orders" they would not serve me. Seemed petty. Bathroom should be equipped with a toilet brush.

The rooms were basic but comfortable. The bathroom likewise. Tea and coffee plus a kettle was in the room though not sure why we had 20 sachets of milk and two teabags! Staf generally were very friendly apart from a couple of the barmaids in the evening. The location was good in so far as it was accessible by public transport and had loads of places to eat nearby albeit mainly fast food.
The room was of a prtemier inn type but just a slightly lower quality. The curtain rail was broken which we did not notice until the first night when going to be. It did cause problems that night due to lots of light outside. However I did fix it the following morning and the next 2 nights were fine. That should have been picked up though before we arrived. The barmaids in the evening were very grumpy which was the total opposite of the breakfast staff who were brilliant. The pub was also very worn out in places with dirty old furniture.

I really like that it is in a quiet area even though there are a few choice of restaurants around and a bowling alley, a cinema, a gym and an indoor mini golf course within walking distance. The food was great and the staff so helpful and friendly. The location is good as it is 5 minutes drive from Dunfermline and 25-30 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh and the buses run almost outside the Sweet Chesnut restaurant so if you want to take the train, it is super easy to do.

Really friendly gentleman on check-in, room was good and suited our requirements brilliantly, it was nice and quiet (have stayed there before). Breakfast at the restaurant had a good vibe and great service. The location puts it brilliantly close to entertainment options, as well as access to Dunfermline and major road ways to the surrounding area.
The water pressure in the shower was a little low and there was water damage in the bathroom ceiling. We also struggled with slow service in the restaurant in the evening.

I found The Sweet Chestnut in Dunfermline to be a very relaxed and inviting place. Very spacious, plenty of seating and comfortable. Our room was spotless, again very spacious. The bathroom has a good (bath)shower and a soap dispenser, great as I forgot to bring my own ! With plenty of assorted towel sizes also.
Only one thing that I will have to inquire about. We were given one room keycard, so when my partner had to nip out to the car he had to take the card with him, which meant as soon as he removed the card from a wall mounted electrical device inside our room all the electrical supply to he room is disconnected, leaving me with no lighting whatsoever.

The room was clean, warm, quiet, and very nice. Comfy beds, great staff, huge parking available, very nice restaurant. As a bonus - Santa entertaining all children in the restaurant during breakfast (we travelled on Xmas time) - great surprise and much appreciated for all this effort :).
There was a good choice of tasty food for breakfast, but the service was not great on that date i.e. not enough cups available, empty thermos with (instant) coffee, food trays filled in with delay etc. - all delivered on request though. I understand this was due to some temporary issue on the day we stayed and does not usually happen in this hotel. I would give 10/10, if not that. Bathrooms have only the rain shower (no hand shower) - not what I like (for practical reasons), but this was a very minor inconvenience, so not really important for a short stay.
