The front desk staff were amazing--friendly, hospitable, accommodating. I had many questions about travel in and around Saint Malo that they answered. I didn't use the in-house breakfast as I preferred a coffee and pasty at nearby patisseries, but the breakfast and lounge areas were well appointed and comfortable. The hotel is located next to a busy shopping street with shops, patisseries, restaurants, etc. A post office was around the corner too. It was easy to get from the hotel to the harbor and walled city by foot.

I know most European hotel rooms are small, so I was comfortable with the space. Since there is no AC, I slept with my window open, so there was some ambient noise from the street below, nothing too bad, though. The bathroom also was small, as usual in a city hotel, and the finishes were a little well worn though clean.

The hotel responded promptly to all my inquiries, which made me feel at ease. Although there was no elevator, the lady at the front desk was incredibly kind and preatively helped us carry our luggage all the way to the top floor， which we really appreciated! The room layout was also quite unique, and I absolutely loved it. It had two separate bedrooms, each with a double bed, and the toilet and bathroom were also separated, which was fantastic. The hotel is a little over 2 kilometers from the old town, and it's within walking distance. There's also a supermarket right next door, which made shopping very convenient!

The rooms were comfortable and cute. The breakfast was lovely and filling with bread, pastries, cheese, meat, yogurt, fruit and other offerings. The front desk staff were able to help us store our bags when we arrived early (though we had arranged this in advance and had to call as there are hours where the reception is not open in the afternoon) and kept them until our later departure in the evening. The room was about a 15-20 minute walk from the ferry, and while it's not in the touristy old town, there are many shops and bakeries nearby, and it's a short walk to one of the beaches.

We enjoyed our stay

Great for our second time for a one night stay before catching the ferry. A classic old hotel building, nicely decorated but no frills. The room is warm and comfortable and has everything you need, though the shower was a little small and in need of updating. Friendly welcome from the lady at reception, and the optional breakfast was worth the 12€ extra. Beware there is no lift! We were on the third floor. But great value for money, and we will be back!

The property was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated and furnished. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, including helping me to check in early as I arrived on a morning ferry. The room was lovely and spacious, and the location was ideal - only 15 minutes or so to the old town, 10 minutes to the port, and plenty of shops and restaurants right on the doorstep. I greatly enjoyed my stay!

Only minor downside is there is no lift, but staff were very happy to help with my luggage!

Great breakfast, which we had on our second day. Wish we’d chosen to do that on our first day. Staff very friendly and efficient. Nice, quiet part of town, easy walk to ferry port. Tastefully decorated. I would definitely recommend to others and would stay again.

My only issue was that the shower head fixture wouldn’t stay in position, and that the shower tray gathered water as it emptied too slowly. Minor points but it would have been a 10 otherwise.

The host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We had an issue with car and managed to move our booking forward one day. He helped us store the additional luggage instead of carry 2 flights and even arranged a taxi for us. Very impressed by receiving such support from the kind man.

Some of the decor is a bit tired for the price you pay (although that’s St Malo prices I think) and our curtain rail unfortunately fell down on the first night. The manager fixed this next day, though, and was very responsive.

Very good value for money, friendly staff and convenient with a car park nearby with charging for our electric car.

I hadn't realised that check in was not before 4.30 pm, though it does say that on their listing. But the receptionist was kind enough to take our bags in and we came back later. A couple more pillows would be good.

Excellent location and very cost effective. Easy walk to Brittany Ferries, Moderate walk to Intra Muros and Gares. Most facilities just next to the hotel; supermarket, others stores, cafes and bars, only two restaurants. Breakfast not bad.

Slight disadvantage is the hotel closes during the middle of the day - so no bag drop then possible
