This property has it all - our apartment had a fully equipped kitchen, great views of the city and surrounding hills from the (albeit small) balcony. You can step outside and walk through the beautiful gardens, then sit and have a coffee under the fig trees with the two resident parrots. The central location is just a short walk from the Plaza De Armas and Cusco Cathedral, and of course many restaurants and shops. Breakfast is provided in the room - a very generous bowl of fruit, plus eggs and bread. My daughter and I used the citrus juicer to make fresh juice, and then fried up eggs and bread with a little Jamon Serrano for "Casa La Recoleta Sandwiches" Each night after a long day of exploring Cusco (be prepared to be out of breath at 11.000 feet) Sarah and I would come back to our apartment and kindle a roaring blaze in the fire place - we went through at least a cord of wood during our three night stay - but down in the bottom of the garden is a huge store of dry wood under cover, so we kept ourselves well stocked up on fuel ! Mark Wiens has a clip on this hotel - he stayed in the same apartment as us - well worth a look. Highly recommend this - not just somewhere to stay, but an experience...

Do not be put off by the blue door in the narrow street as it opens into a beautiful garden with little apartments. There was milk, cheese, fresh eggs, fruit and bread and cereal so you can prepare your own food. The owner was kind and friendly and it’s a very short walk to the beautiful centre
Ok I was in lower floor and people above were quite heavy footed. The parrots squawk a lot but they look so lovely and are only out during the daytime

I booked 10 days in Cusco in order to have a very active holiday, getting up early and hiking on the mountains. I needed a good night's sleep, and I've found it 100% in this accommodation. The historical center of Cusco is a loud place, cars running on cobblestones, honking, and lots of fiestas every evening. In my room, none of this was to hear. And yet it was a very central location. A perfect choice. Other good things: Perfectly clean apartment, big bathroom, good heating (very important!), very convenient breakfast options if you need to wake up early (many tours start with a pick-up at 4 or 5 AM), very helpful and friendly staff. I would surely book the same accommodation if I could come again to Cusco!

First of all I would like to thank the staff of the reception, Nuria, Evelyn and the man in the evening, (unfortunately I've forgotten his name) and the nice woman encharged of the cleaning, you all have been very nice, very kind and efficient. My apartment was perfect, quiet and very clean. The kitchen has all what you need, they leave nice fresh fruit and bread everyday and you find in the refrigerator the rest, like milk, butter, cheese.. The location of La Casona is great, you're 10 minutes walk from main square of Cusco and in an area with wonderful restaurants too. I would go back because everything was perfect, specially for sleeping! I'll be back soon.
Every was perfect!

The hotel is very close to downtown. It is actually close to everything!!! We walked everywhere (downtown, shopping, church, restaurants, etc,). The lofts are very clean. It seems to be that it is an old building so the floors have that sounds that old wooden houses have. I just love how neat and clean they have everything! The staff is absolutely amazing. Extremely kind and helpful. I also love that they leave enough breakfast to be prepared by ourselves the next day. Eggs, bread, butter, all kinds of fruit, tea, coffee, jam and cheese. There are skillets, oil, sugar and butter. The kitchen is equipped enough to prepare any meal you want. I absolutely loved preparing my fried eggs and toast every morning. There was always enough fruit to munch on during the day. They came everyday to clean the kitchen, bathroom, and the whole apartment. Very nice and kind ladies. They change everything everyday. Absolutely clean!!! You can’t go wrong with this place. We were very happy with this place. We actually went to Machu Picchu and came back to this place. There are sooooooo many places where to eat nearby. And I mean, soooooo many choices!!! Excellent place! Thank you for helping us have a wonderful Saturday in Cusco.
It would be nice if this place had either a laundry service in house or a connection with a laundry place so that we could just give it to them and then, not worry about anything.

Good central location, while also being on a quiet side street (for tour pickups you might need to walk 1 minute to the nearest crossroads - it's a very narrow street). Laundry and convenience store right outside. Beautiful garden in the courtyard. Everything is quite new. Fresh fruit, bread and spreads, snacks are provided daily. Breakfast, extra kitchenware are available upon request. Daily room service.
The staff does not speak English (although they manage, with google translate). Absolutely no soundproofing. Most of the time it's ok, but if something is going on in the courtyard, or one of the neighbors has little kids - good luck to you.

The property itself is lovely, check-in easy, staff very friendly and helpful, my room was warm, spacious and self-contained with a kettle & fridge so I could make my own beverages and snacks (discovered this isn't offered in all hotels in Cusco). Cold Breakfast for each day is delivered the night before and if you want a hot breakfast, you just order it in the morning. The location is brilliant - I could walk everywhere I wanted to to site-see and go to great restaurants and shopping in San Blas - a 5 minute walk away. Great restaurants nearby like Jacks Cafe & GreenPoint. Very clean, bed was extremely comfortable and bedding really good quality and warm despite the cold mornings and nights. I will come back in a heart beat to stay here.

This wonderful oasis felt like home from the we moment walked in. After traveling a few weeks as a family and being split between hotel rooms, we could all share a cozy lounge with a crackling fire, and make breakfast (they drop off the day before) together in the mornings. The shower window opens onto a lovely view, and the little balcony is perfect for getting some fresh air. We stayed for three nights while acclimatising and then again after our inca trail (they kindly stored our luggage for us and helped us arrange a taxi to the airport). Reception is open 24hrs and the apartment is stocked with tea, coffee, milk, salt and sugar, and they bring fruit, bread, eggs, butter and jam! Everything works perfectly, the shower has good pressure, and its spotlessly clean.
Absolutely nothing, it was beyond wonderful.

This pls e is like a secret garden. When you arrive at the front gate you have no idea if the surprising beauty begins the door. Nuria has created a haven in this beautiful hidden gem. I stated for several days and adored having a generous breakfast in the gardens, reading my book, and writing. My cozy room was wonderful with room for my luggage, a table with fresh fruit and teas, and a super comfortable bed. The shower was a great size, hot, and with nice water pressure. Casona la Recoleta is located close to Plaza de Armas, only a 7-10 walk. I adored staying here. Nuria was helpful, kind, accommodating, and created such a lovely experience for me. I’ll definitely stay here when I come back to Cusco. I wanted to return but it was booked up, which is no surprise. It even better than the photos!
Loved everything!

The area is beautiful with gardens and tables to sit. The interior is very well constructed and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was included in the form of eggs, cheese, bread, yogurt, and fruit provided and restocked every day for the next morning. The staff allowed me and my brothers to store our luggage in the lobby, after we checked out on our last day. There was always staff at the front, so I felt very secure leaving my belongings in their care. The property can only be accessed by guests and staff which adds to the level of security of this property. Less than 10 minutes walk to the Plaza de Armas and aboit 30 minuye walk to Saqsaywaman. When I come back to Cusco I will be booking my days with this property.
There was nothing to complain about in this stay.
