I recently stayed at the San Giovanni Hotel from June 12th to June 14th, 2025, and have a few observations to share. First, the positives: I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel overall. The cafe offered excellent drinks and food, and the housekeeping service was top-notch. These aspects definitely contributed to a comfortable stay. However, there were a couple of significant drawbacks. The biggest issue was with the main restaurant's administration and their handling of reservations for lunch and dinner. For both days of my stay, the main restaurant was being used for a wedding party, meaning guests like myself couldn't have our meals there. This was quite inconvenient and frustrating as it happened for the entirety of my visit. Additionally, the room screen was not working, which was a minor but noticeable issue. Finally, my check-in process took two hours, and I wasn't able to get into my room until 3 PM, which was a bit of a slow start to the stay. Overall, while the hotel excels in cleanliness, its cafe offerings, and housekeeping, the issues with the main restaurant availability and the check-in time did detract from the experience.

The hotel boasts a unique location with stunning sea views, especially of Stanley’s Cove and bridge. Rooms are basic yet comfortable, offering everything needed for a relatively pleasant stay. Bathroom amenities included luffas and toothbrushing sets. Breakfast may have limited variety, but the ingredients are fresh and the flavors are satisfying. The on-site restaurant serves quality food, and its classic decor and event adds to the charm. The terrace is a highlight, providing a lovely spot to enjoy the scenic surroundings.

The room furniture is dated and would benefit from renovation to enhance comfort and aesthetics. During breakfast, there’s no complimentary water dispenser, and brewed coffee is only available at an extra charge. The adjacent public beach is often very crowded and noisy, which impacts the tranquility of the view, as a significant portion faces that direction. Valet parking is for an extra per day fee, and the cars are parked in a lot located on the other side of the street which requires some time to retrieve the car.

San Giovanni Hotel had amazing service as well as very helpful and kind staff. The view from my hotel room was stunning. Mohamed in reception was very friendly and helpful from the day I arrived, the relationship manager too was very helpful. the breakfast derive service that was offered was very pleasant with multiple option available. I definitely recommend staying at San Giovanni hotel in Alexandria.

I loved the fact it was by the Stanley Bridge, and I had a decent view of the ocean. The staff were also very friendly and responsive. The Cafe Shop had an outdoor section where you can basically smell the fresh ocean as it passes under the Stanley bridge. I equally enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, which offered quite a delicious 😋 variety. I would say I got decent value for money paid.

The hotel's facilities are functional but quite old and in need of a serious upgrade. The room which was a double room, was also quite small compared to other hotels I have stayed in.

Everything was great! I enjoyed my stay at the hotel; the staff was friendly and lovely, the room was spotless, and the view was fabulous! The breakfast was delicious. I also requested to have my food reheated, and the staff were very polite. They reheated my food and brought it to my room. Thank you to all the hotel staff!

There was one thing I didn't like: the breakfast buffet did not meet my expectations, as there were fewer food items than I had anticipated. Also, I expected the breakfast to be served in the main San Giovanni restaurant, but I found it in the La Serene & El Terrace restaurant.

From the moment you step into the hotel, you're treated like a valued guest. The warm welcome, love, kindness, and smiles from the entire staff make you feel right at home. Every request is met with a smile, and the team's hospitality is genuinely heartfelt. The hotel's location is excellent, and the room is well-equipped with everything you need. Although the furniture is somewhat outdated, it's well-maintained. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of delicious dishes, and the internet connection in the rooms is a bonus. Highly recommended!

Everything is ok

- It is very cozy and warm hotel - View was amazing, although we took city view room - Location was excellent and unique on Stanely bridge, and the hotel terrace was just inside the sea, making the view amazing to enjoy - Staff were very welcoming everywhere whenever they see us - Waiters were very welcoming at the breakfast. They wanted us just to sit and they served us in everything - When we asked about special decoration for our wedding anniversary, they did it perfectly with an excellent price and followed up with us till they made sure we are satisfied and happy - The whole stay was amazing

Nice location at the Stanley bridge - offering a view on the pretty beach and the beach and 30 min taxi from all the places to see in the city. We also enjoyed the breakfast very much with a variety of local food, a pretty view on the bridge and beach and very friendly staff. Different from other hotels we visited in the country, we were looking forward relaxing in our cozy room at the end of the day! The restaurant was also a very nice and cozy place to have dinner after a day out visiting.

The hotel in a good location, staff very friendly and always follow up to check if anything needed. Comfortable beds. Restaurants offer a good breakfast for 3 starts hotel.

Room view not as expected, however was not an issue. Room furniture need to be replaced. Bathroom amenities need some attention. They only offer 2 bottles of water and need to be requested before evening. After that they don’t provide. At the checkout day request for water however they said since it’s your last day we can only offer one bottle of water, which is not a good gesture. Room rates is higher comparing to rooms conditions, however due to high season was fine

Location and Staff! The friendliest staff I have met in a hotel, recently. They make it a hidden gem! The location is also historic. It is located directly on the famous stanly beach and the bridge. The Cafe overlooking the Mediterranean is amazing. You can have your breakfast, lunch or dinner there or simply coffee and a relaxed distance working session.
