It was a different experience to stay in this house. Most of the staff were very nice and helpful. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable.

I will admit my first encounter on the property left a bad taste - the person that was at the desk slammed their tupperware shut and then expressed frustration that I happened to arrive from a 6 hour drive during his dinner time. He then took another call before he would greet us or help us. Finally, I remember him telling me that he is not a a people person and looked forward to being off for the winter. Eventually he warmed up, but honestly I would rather take my money and stay at another location just based on that first impression alone. I don't want anyone to be in trouble, but maybe just a gentle reminder that if you work at the front desk of a hotel, you may have to interact with people.

We really enjoyed staying in this lovely place. Our room was large and airy with everything we needed. Sparkling clean and a lovely comfy bed. Breakfast was a buffet which was ample and fully stocked. The lady on the desk, BJ, was so welcoming, ready to give advice on places of interest and places to eat. So helpful, and made us feel right at home. Location for us was brilliant, not too far from Newport centre but far enough away to be quiet at night. Would definitely recommend this lovely hotel!

It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Didn’t hear much outside noise.

The heating system…..it was either on or off. You couldn’t regulate the temperature. The toilet in our room kept running. Told the front desk and was told that it’s been like that for a long time. Maintenance has tried to fix it but can’t. Here’s a thought…replace the damn toilet. Who wants to hear a toilet run continuously during your stay. It’s has a small bathroom. It has a wood floor (which I liked) but no rug to make it comfortable and the couch is subpar. It belongs in a sitting room of a Victorian home. The tv is small and not very bright. It’s also not angled towards the couch but to the bed instead. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The room at the Carriage House Inn was exceptional. It was spacious and since we were at the end of the hall, we had two windows, one facing front and one on the side. There was also a window in the spacious bathroom; so the room was always bright and cheery. I had called ahead to ensure we had a room o the first or second floor, as the third floor was accessible only by stairs. Both times the person on duty was extremely nice. The breakfast consisted of fruit, baked goods, and sandwiches which could be heated in the microwave. My only request is that it would be nice to offer a sandwich that did not include eggs (regular or vegan).

From the moment we stepped into the reception lobby you couldn't fail to be impressed. The lady on reception was very friendly, very helpful and made us feel very welcome. When we heard it was a continental breakfast we were expecting the usual coffee, croissants and fruit juice but there was so much to choose from you were literally spoiled for choice. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

All my expectations were met, a warm, comfy cozy welcome. Very friendly helpful staff. Loved the location and room size, lots of light.

As we arrived on Dec 4th, decorations were just going up and very pretty by the time we left on Dec 6th. I would have loved to hear holiday music in the common areas. In my room I would have welcomed a soft rug to step on to beside the bed and there was no convenient or electrical outlet to charge my phone besides resting it on the bathroom sink or unplugging other equipment. The microwave in my room also carried a rather strong odour from previous use. Otherwise I will happily recommend The Carriage House Inn and would certainly return myself

This location is cute. We liked that the hotel is an old Victorian home which tied the trip to Rhode Island together nicely. We had an issue with our television so they accommodated by moving us to a new room which was great. As long as you mention it, if something wasn’t up to par, they are really quick to fix. All staff were very friendly and kind. A fresher brekky would have been nice because what was offered was all packaged, but it does say light breakfast when booking so we did expect to eat out. There are a lot of great eats close by. Simple merchant coffee or custom coffee is great for coffee. Le Bec Sucre is soo delicious for French pasties and breads. And there is also Mas for donuts and bagels, as well as bagel boys for cheap morning eats. Overall the stay here was lovely!

I think some ppl assume the staff know if there are issues and then complain when leaving. However they may not know. We informed staff of an issue with tv and they didn’t know but they fixed right away. We moved to a new room which was a nicer one but the sink was clogged. We informed the cleaning staff and they solved it immediately. If you inform them, they will help you and make sure your stay is as good as could be I would have preferred for fresh breakfast, even if it’s kept light. The packaged food wasn’t appealing and the fruit seemed a bit old.

The Carriage House Inn is a quaint place to stay in Middletown, RI. The staff were friendly and the room was cleaner than any chain hotel I've ever stayed. It offers a light continental breakfast of ready made sandwiches with an assortment of grab and go pastries/protein bars. I would definitel

Customer service is phenomenal and welcoming! Great restaurant and activity recommendations. In fact, we liked their coffee so much, we were given extra packets to stay home. The rooms were comfortable and we enjoyed just visiting in the lounge with our friends.

Maybe a few more breakfast selections but that's just a minor thing.

The staff (Keith) was friendly and helpful. He offered a great suggestion for dinner. The room was clean and spacious, and we slept really well. Breakfast was solid as well - several choices. Location was good - easy to get to.
