The owners. Amazing. Couldn't speak English but using Google translate they went out of their way to help us. They let us leave our bags there after check out so we could go on a boat trip, then took us to the train station when we got back. The room is huge and has toiletries, fridge, and a kettle. The location was very useful for walking to the Bamboo forest and other sights that side of Kyoto.

We had issues with the electricity in our room, for lights and power sockets, the owners were very quick to resolve it, but it did happen 3 times. The room was a little tired/grubby in places. This is not a negative, but just something to be aware of if you haven't already read other reviews. This is a 'love hotel' so operates differently. Each room is themed. You are locked into your room and have to call the front desk every time you want to leave or enter. There is a machine in your room so you can pay (presumably by the hour 😉). It was an experience and still makes me laugh. I would stay there again if I wanted to be that side of Kyoto.

The staff when I went did not speak English but they were very kind and used a translating app to communicate. They ensured that we understood the room and did the most to make our trip wonderful! For breakfast the lady working was wonderful and went out of her way to accommodate food allergies (celiac, so got plain riceballs for breakfast). Just a heads up I see others complaining about the door being locked... that's fairly standard practice for a love hotel.

When I booked it, I didn't notice at first that it was a hotel for adults. In spite of that, the hotel staff were simply awesome. Their hospitality and kindness is one of a kind. Each morning, they will happily bring you to your destination, free of charge. Plus VOD is free of charge as well, when in most hotels you'll probably have to pay for it.

Because it's a hotel for adults, you won't get a key. the door will shut automatically, and in order to open it you'll have to call them each time. It's not that of a big deal, but still, I would have preferred to have a key instead. It would have been awesome if they would turn it into a regular hotel though, as I think with their hospitality and kindness they would get lots of families and couples over. I would even suggest them to hire someone who speaks English and organize guided tours here in Arashiyama...just a suggestion 😉

- The lady that welcomed us was so lovely. She briefly explained how the hotel operates. She also asked us at what time she could bring us breakfast sandwiches. - Love hotel where every room has a different theme. Ours was space, where we had glow-in-the-dark stars on the wallpaper and a planet/rocketship headboard. Very retro and fun. -Quiet location outside of Arashiyama touristic center. Ideal for us because we came by car. Parking was free. The owner does offer train station pickup if you let them know your arrival time. -Facilities were clean and plenty of amenities available in the room. The bed was big and comfy.

It's a bit on the older side. Although overall, it was well maintained, some areas could use an update.

Free of charge pick up service - back and fort - to the nearest train station, Calm and nature close location. Big room with massage seat and overeal cleanliness. Friendly staff, solved the language barrier as well. Bit surprised first that this is an Adult hotel. This comment will make sense when you arrive! Good price - value,

Do not be afraid from the room's entrance doors, thats a bit weird but on purpose. You will see the function! Breakfast - which is a take away sandwich - pretty simple.

The room was large, well appointed, clean and quiet. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Togetsukyo bridge and the bamboo forest. Lot's to see and do in this area.

I've been to over 25 countries and never stayed in a hotel where I needed to call reception to be let out of my room. A bit strange not having a key to let myself in and out, but the staff is friendly and helpful.

Exceptional friendly staff. I forgot my tablet and they picked us up from the train station and gave it to us. Transfer is for free, so slightly off location is no issue. People should understand that it is a love hotel and therefore the system slightly different (no key but reception opens/closes on request) We had a really nice stay and enjoyed our time

Nothing - exactly as expected

The only thing we didnt like at the begining was the fact we couldnt open the door our self. You get used too it after the first try and we thought it was very funny in the end. The AC in our room did not work super well but everything else was perfect. Nice staff but dont speak english, as long as yoy have a translate app on your phone, you are good

We did a one night stay here, It was a cool experience. Our room was huge, it was great location for visiting the bamboo forest. It came with breakfast and the staff was super sweet. We felt safe in the country side and lived walking around the local community and admiring the homes, we even walked to a tiny near by restaurant / bar and had an evening of Japanese whisky. That being said it is a LOVE HOTEL so it has its little quirks that surprised us, but that’s what we wanted. Go in with an open mind and understand it’s there may be some small nuances from what you’re used to, but when In Japan! ;) 10/10 would stay here again! stay

The hosts were incredibly hospitable and nice! The hostess prepared us a delicious breakfast (which we weren't expecting), drove us to the train-station, while letting us store our luggage there while we were out for river rafting (also highly recommended), then when we came back to pick up our luggage, they again insisted on driving us to the train station! What utterly exceptional service! The hotel room was spacious and had plentiful amenities and facilities.
