Everything was ok: room was spacious enough and very clean, quite varied breakfast with very good coffee, very good Wi-Fi, daily cleaning of rooms. Short walk to reach train station or tram with connection to Genève. The town is nice, quiet and you can find everything there: good restaurants, good shopping places and also can make trips to France or Switzerland by train as Annemasse is a quite a big train station. As our flight was early morning we arrived at the hotel at 10:00 and we could check-in immediately because we agreed in advance with the hotel receptionist to prepare for us the rooms against a fee that we considered fair.

The only problem was the lack of a second towel as well as a support (hanger) outside the bathroom to dry the towels. But finally we could manage because they were changed daily.

The hotel is 200 m from the train station, 100 meters from tram stop to Geneva. Really best location if you want to explore Geneva, Lausanne, Annecy, Chamonix. Friendly staff, the room was new, bed, carpet, bathroom, no stains or spots. Friendly reception. Fast check-in, can keep bags after check out. Will stay again. Twice chepaer than hotels in Geneva.

The Oskar has a great location in Annemasse town centre. It's less than 10 minutes walk to the rail station and less than 5 minutes to the temporary terminus of a new tram route. Either option will get you quickly into Geneva city centre, and the train links with the short rail hop to the airport from Cornavin (main) rail station. (Neither option recommended during rush times.) Though in France, Annemasse is effectively a suburb of Geneva, but definitely cheaper. Annemasse has grown significantly since my fist visit, at least 15 years ago, and is now bustling with amenities. I hardly reognised some parts of the town. There is a decent range of bars, restaurants, etc close to the Oskar, The train (Leman Express) will also take you to Thonon-les-Bains or Evian les-Bains which are lovely towns on the French shore of Lac Leman/L. Geneva), convenient for a day out or more, and Annecy is accessible too. Nearby Mont Saleve, over 1000 metres high, can be reached by bus from Annemasse gare routier, next door to the train station, or from Geneva. A teleferique will take you most of the way up, where the are lot of pleasant walks, views, and a cafe. The Oskar is a fairly standard budget hotel, with very helpful staff, mostly English speaking, decent breakfast, and a nice bedroom & shower-room. Very good value.

I stayed three nights; check-in times, check-out times and lock-up times seemed somewhat fluid. (Perhaps the hotel was going through a tricky staffing spell?) It didn't actually affect me, but I was slightly nervous at first of missing an unlocked front door, though in fact the access code proved effective to operate.

Clean, comfortable, quiet. Helpful staff. Short walk to the train station with regular connections to Geneva. Decent and affordable restaurants around.

The breakfast didn't compare to breakfasts in the German or Hungarian hotels I stayed before/after Annemasse. But generally one shouldn't expect much from French breakfasts, and as for France the breakfast was not bad, there were boiled eggs and pancakes.

This hotel was better than I expected. There’s nothing fancy. Plain but with all necessary amenities. Electrical kettle - so unusual for hotels in France - is a great plus. Very clean. Located a few minutes walk both from the train station and the tram 17 which makes it easy to get to Geneva. Altogether a very pleasant experience

During my stay there was a smoke/ fire incident happening in a nearby location (not the hotel) in the middle of the night. It resulted in a lot of smoke and firefighters coming to inspect/ extinguish the fire/ smoke. I called the emergency number provided by the hotel at 2 am, explaining the situation and indicating that there is a lot of smoke in my room, and I can't sleep well. At 2:50 am I was given another room (despite the hotel not having a 24/7 reception service), facing the opposite side of the hotel, and allowing me to rest. It was really very much appreciated and I would rate this hotel by the services provided not by the experience during my stay (the smoke was outside of the control of the hotel). They treated it really professionally and made my stay as good as possible given the circumstances. Highly competent manager. Clean rooms, good location - vicinity to the train station. Responded well to all my queries (need an iron, which they provided promptly). Excellent service for the money!

8 mins walk from the train station, convenient for restaurants, cafes, shops etc. Friendly staff, we met beautiful friendly Anna when checked in, gave good recommendation where to eat - Sales Gossses, very nice. Modern, new, quiet room. slept well.

Water pressure in the shower was very weak, couldn't wash my hair well... even the tap in the bathroom sink is stronger, informed the reception.

Great location, less than 10 mins walk from the train station. Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants within 5 mins walk. Bright and modern room and bathroom, bed was ok but pillows too flat and flimsy. Breakfast was 11 euro pp. Staff really friendly. Easy to access from Geneva and so much cheaper than the city. Would definitely stay again if I visit Geneva or anywhere local to the hotel.

Nothing fancy but decent hotel within easy reach of Geneva but at about 1/3 the price of Geneva hotels. Room was clean and had the basics, incl kettle, for an overnight stay. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Easy walk to train station and to tram into Geneva.

The staff were very helpful and kind. The rooms were basic, but comfortable, and everyone working at the hotel was pleasant, smiling and helpful—especially the cleaning staff! I’ve stayed in hotels far worse and three times the price in Geneva, this was a great alternative and easy to access Geneva with the tram.

It was basic, if you are looking for luxury it’s not the place for you, but if you want clean, comfortable and friendly, this is your place!
