The position is perfect, 5 minutes walk from the central train station and perfect to walk around the center without any problem. No noise from the street and the gentlemen we found at the reception were always kind and ready to help. Our room was very big, clean and comfortable. The hotel has also a lift, which is a great thing in Amsterdam.

There is no a refrigerator in the room and the atmosphere is a little bit "dark" (in terms of lights), we suggest to give the possibility to have a brighter light in the room.

It's my second time in this hotel, so I pretty much knew what to expect. I booked it because of it's awesome location. It's literally in front of the central station. It's great value for money too. The staff is very friendly and helpful and there is a bar and a restaurant downstairs. It's a 3 star hotel, that needs some remodelling, so don't expect it to be fancy, but it does the job for it's worth perfectly.

Shower in my room was slightly leaking and doors didn't close fully. So the room needs a remodelling. Also I find it slightly awkward that every time you leave, you have to leave your room key card at the reception. Perhaps it's for safety. So don't be surprised.

The biggest bonus for this hotel is its location - in the very center of the city, all popular sights can be reached without using transport. It should be noted that staying in this hotel should be expected to be noisy almost throughout the night - because it is the very center of the city, if it does not disturb - then still - the location is ideal. Breakfast was very good - English breakfast - everything fresh and tasty. The room was not super modern, but OK.

The initial communication with the receptionist was not successful, I had to involve a work colleague who speaks Dutch, because the receptionist was unable to resolve the situation (or explain in English) which seemed standard to us. Even threatened to cancel the reservation which ruined the evening because it was stressful. In the end everything was resolved, I think it could have been done better, faster and without spoiling the mood. The bed was bad- one side of the bed was badly damaged - it interfered with sleeping.

Staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to accommodate a ground level bedroom when they spotted my crutches. I didn't even have to ask, they simply spotted it would be a struggle and provided it for me for no extra charge. Location was perfect; incredibly close to trams, metro, trains, buses and the ferry - yet also only a short walk to the city centre. Breakfast and the downstairs bar were also brilliant and I will definitely return.

Nothing - everything was perfect for the price and location of the stay!

This was the second time my friends and I stayed in this hotel. The location is just perfect and close to many shops and attractions. We love that it is just beside St Nicholas Basilica. The buffet breakfast has a good variety. We stayed in room 215 and the view was beyond comprehension, facing the central station. We love that we get fresh towels everyday.

It was hard to get on the tub as there was no rail on the sides to hold on to, which makes it unsafe for my friends who are elderly. Bed was fine but pillows were not firm enough.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. Very professional and knowledgeable. We found all of the staff with whom we dealt, to be excellent. The room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom and toilet were in separate rooms with sinks in both rooms. In addition to large rooms, the hotel offers breakfast in the morning which was excellent and offering up a good selection of breakfast foods. It exceeded our expectations. Excellent television channel selection. although I was not in Amsterdam to watch television, in the evening while relaxing, it was great to have a good selection of TV channels. Overall we had a great stay and would book the hotel again.

There was no safe or fridge in the room. Most importantly, there was no air conditioning and when we opened the windows to cool the room, the street noise was problematic as this hotel is located in a high pedestrian and vehicle traffic area. As the evening wore on, it became quieter.

Location, staff

Unhermetic windows. That should be changed into hermetic windows as all night life noice, smoke from cigarettes went through the windows and was very uncomfortable to smell that and hear that noice, like it was besides your bed. We were on second floor. Yet, location itself is perfect. Hope windows will be way more hermetic and would definatelly return and stay here again and again.

Very easy to get to by train, short walk from railway station. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. Location to the centre was excellent, everything was in walking distance. Breakfast was simple and basic but it got you off to a good start for the day. Room was spacious, and clean. The location more than makes up for any shortfalls the hotel may have.

My room was overlooking the street so was slightly noisy but that was due to the location. I was in room 52 which was just down the road from the hotel. Stairs would be a problem if you had young children or mobility issues.

The good things about this hotel are that it is very close to Amsterdam Central train station, it is easy to get around, breakfast is good, and the front desk is very nice. The disadvantage is that living on the second floor of the street, it is a little noisy in the morning and evening, and the sound insulation equipment of the hotel is not good, affecting sleep. The hotel is old and the equipment is old. This is booked four months ago when the price of 199 euros, about to check in found that the price is constantly reduced, for those of us who booked first can only be withdrawn and booked again, has been withdrawn twice, after the irrevocable period, found that it has dropped 10 euros, but there is no way to remedy. This room is expected from June to October, a total reduction of 50 euros, the first booking but eat a large loss, which has never happened in my previous booking experience.

Excellent location, could not get closer to Central Station and cleaned to a really high standard. Very accomodating staff who replied to numerous messages in advance of the stay, promptly and were very nice in person, also. A nice oldschool family feel to the running of the place.

The beds weren't overly comfortable, breakfast wasn't great however given the price charged by the Hotel I would treat breakfast as a handy top up before heading out for the day and accept it may have been down to cultural preferences too so it wouldn't put me off staying. Not the easiest property to navigate with a buggy but accomodated with the best possible room. Fan could be bigger for the size of the room or maybe provide a second one of the same size.
