The Hotel Emile is in an excellent location! It's on the edge of the Marais, which is is an interesting area in itself, but it is also only a few steps from Metro St. Paul, which is on the no.1 Metro line, with quick and easy connections to anywhere in the city. The room we had was clean as a whistle, and has the big windows that make a Paris hotel Parisian (upper floor recommended). There is even air conditioning. Breakfast is the simple pastry and coffee that is typically French, but it seems adequate when you eat it. If not, there is an American breakfast place next door. The staff, particularly Gwendolyn at the front desk, are very pleasant and accommodating, English speaking. There's a fun market at the Place de la Bastille that is only a couple of blocks away, as is the Seine river. The Favorite bistro right next door is a great place for people watching from the outdoor tables. You will be in many of the photos tourists take home because they love the profusion of flowers that decorate the bistro. There are restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, clothiers, and other shops galore in the immediate vicinity.

The rooms are a bit small, but not too small -- it's Paris after all. The elevator has occasional problems. They will store your luggage for you before check in and after check out, but its right out in the lobby/breakfast room. Still under the watchful eye of the staff, however.

The hotel is in the heart of Le Marais, a great neighborhood with lots of little shops and cafes, close to many museums, and a 2 minute walk from the St. Paul metro stop. It's a very bustling area that still feels like a real neighborhood with lots of old Parisian charm and not too overloaded with tourists. The hotel is tucked away just off the main street on a nice little side street so it was quieter than you might expect. The room was very clean and we had a nice little balcony with a beautiful view of the neighborhood. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating, and they offered suggestions for great food in the area (of which there is no shortage by the way). There is also a nice 5 Euro breakfast option (a selection of breads, pastries, coffee, and juice), which is great if you just want a quick affordable breakfast on the go before exploring Paris.

We stayed here twice over the course of our trip. The first room we stayed in was one of the smaller rooms and it had a step in front of the shower, which impeded a bit into the walkway posing a trip hazard. Also there was no shower curtain or door. The second room we stayed in was one of the larger rooms and it had a nice tub/shower with a curtain.

The hotel was in an incredible location, 1 minute away from the metro, shopping, restaurants, bars and 10 minute walk to Notre Dame - amazing. The price value was exceptionally high and the room was well appointed and freshly renovated (could still smell the new paint). Beds and room were comfy, nice to have air conditioning and a small balcony. Had a good night's sleep and overall the room was quite quiet, although you could hear when people next door got home around 3;00 am - thankfully they went to bed quickly so I was able to fall back to sleep.

Didn't particularly like that the shower and bathroom sink were in the same space - so everything on the sink counter had to be moved or got wet, but the shower and bathroom finish was nicely decorated. The elevator is incredibly small - but that's a Parisian thing - was happy to have an elevator in any case as I was on the 5th floor.

Location is brilliant, easy to get to from the airport using the RER and Metro. Concierge provided very helpful instructions and assistance prior to our arrival. The hotel is a 2 min walk from the metro station. You can walk also to the Louvre (around 20-25 mins straight forward walk) or Notre-Dame (15 mins walk) and pick up a hop-on-hop-off bus for sight-seeing. The view from the hotel is lovely, it overlooks a little square with a carousel. Amenities are great, a Carrefour city is across the road, there are lots of bakeries/patisseries, pharmacies, a cheese shop and chocolatier, and many restaurants in the immediate area and walkable (within 20 mins - you would struggle to find a bad meal!) The room itself is quiet (there is a church opposite so expect clock chimes) and well-furnished. They make a great use of the small space. There is a lift which fits 2 people in, very useful when staying on the higher floors. Breakfast is included (continental) and served 7-10am, you can get hot drinks from the machine all day. The bed and bedding is incredibly comfortable and the curtains were very good so it blocked out the light, slept brilliantly. Also you can connect to the Wifi (very good signal) and stream any Chromecast-compatible apps to the televisions, great for when you are getting ready to go out!

the only thing I would have liked was a shower curtain, the shower was pretty much within the room and there was a space for a curtain to be put up but there wasn't one. it wasn't a massive issue and I think other rooms look similar on the pictures, it might be more of an issue for certain people depending who you are sharing with!

Location was excellent for exploring the Marais - Room decor and preparation first class - the shower was "Open Plan" in the room as the walls were floor to ceiling glass - of course the hotel could have built a solid wall but the room will have felt much smaller and the glass was so perfectly clean and high quality tiling that is worked really well.... of course trendy hotel rooms often have roll top Victorian baths in a bedroom and many people like that layout ( plus wc was in seperate room with solid walls )

Great location, nice large windows looking out over the street if you are on that side of the building, the smallest lift I have ever seen but makes for a fun photo, and the lovely and most helpful receptionist, Gwendoline.

The rooms are very small but the bed was big enough for us, the shower was a glass shower unit, which is not a problem unless you are shy. Who cares about limitations if you are enjoying yourself out and about in Paris.

Location was fantastic - less touristy than other areas in Paris and close to the metro stop. Room was more spacious than expected, with a wardrobe and shelving for storage. View from the balcony was exceptional!

Air conditioning wasn't working in the hotel on our first night, but it was fixed by the morning thankfully - because it was very hot. The sink didn't drain well at all. Staff could have been friendlier and more helpful.

The staff were very nice and helpful. It was my first solo trip to Paris and i was a bit nervous but when I arrived there were two amazing ladies in the reception who really helped and explained everything to me. The hotel is near the metro station and in a good area. My room had a vey nice balcony. The room is small but cozy and modern in the same time

I found it overpriced comparing to the hotel facilities and services. But Paris is expensive overall.

Great location. Super cute. Reception host (Gwendolyn) was really lovely. Great view of the street. Felt safe. Tiny cute lift.

Open shower without curtain. Felt a bit cold and exposed. Drainage (shower and sink) was a bit slow and I ended up flooding half the bedroom and wetting my baggage and clothes on the floor despite a quick shower. Guessing this is a once-off occurrence and if not, I would still choose to stay here again.

Fantastic location and cute little room, great with the bar/restaurant right downstairs and a lovely view of the streets outside. They also left us a box of chocolates on the bed as it was Christmas which was a very sweet touch, thank you

The only thing was the shower/bath. You had to hold the shower head/hose while showering which is very awkward… a really strange set up to be honest! Fine if you wanted a bath as that was lovely but the shower head situation was not ideal
