The place feels like home. The staff working there are willing to be your friends and you may likely end up with offered ramen. I was traveling alone but the yoga & onigiri dinner evening with the staff and other guests at the facility gave me a chance to socialize and enjoy my stay even more.

Would absolutely return, I just wish Tsutaya wasn't just in Hakone alone Was debating between this and another listing with provided dinner, but glad I chose this - if you're on the fence I recommend this The indoor & outdoor onsen was such a pleasure to use, the common area which I rarely use was extremely nice - even had heated kotatsus for you to try, with board games and more The toilets are clean and the bed even has a large space at the head where you could put your large backpack and even lay it out, very wide space and comfortable bed too Transport wise, there are several bus options from the station and short walk from bus stop

Would have been nice if every guest could be provided with a yukata to go between indoor & outdoor onsens Very troublesome having to dry off, wear clothes just to take them off again before going into the next onsen

The property is well situated and architecturally unique; traditional Japanese style. The onsens were lovely including outdoor and indoor options. Most of the time you have the onsen to yourself. Upon arrival they had a monthly event of Yoga and sushi making. The yoga instructor was very intune and a great teacher. The sushi making was great to get to know the other travelers. There were reviews of food being an issue. This was not the case as I was a bit concerned going in due to some reviews. There are multiple places to eat as well as a 7-11 and Lawsons close by. The property and staff were so lovely that this was not an issue in the least. I’d give this stay an 11 out of 10 if possible. Authentic beautiful experience. Its also a bit off the main strip so you can avoid crowds but there is a bus stop right across from the property. Very convenient. This property was my favorite stay in all of Japan!

Nothing. I’d suggest don’t bring luggage if possible. Pack an overnight bag for a few days and ship luggage to next destination. It was a breeze doing the travel this way.

The building, built into the cliff itself, was amazing. It felt incredibly secluded, yet very comfortable. The views? Fantastic. The inside and outside onsens? Superb, with flowers blooming at the outside location. Just look at the pictures. The staff bent over backwards to make our stay as enjoyable as they could; they even waited at the entrance in a car for us when we arrived 4 hours past check-in time due to travel issues. While only tea and coffee were provided, a fully furnished kitchen was available. As it was our first morning in Japan, and breakfast wasn't provided, I opted to try a Japanese convenience store's fare for the first time. Let's just say it beat the pants off Mc Donald's, and the kitchen (as well as views from the kitchen windows) made it that much better. There's a classic video game system for rent for a few Yen if you want some nostalgic games while relaxing in the room, too.

The water filter system definitely needed to be cleaned out; I could taste something growing in it. I boiled the filtered water and used it, which made it fine. Really my only complaint...

It was my first onsen experience and it was a nice introduction to the onsen culture in Japan. The staff were generally very courteous and helpful. The capsule sleeping area was spacious and provided some privacy despite the shared living arrangements. I love the calm lighting in the place. The location was very convenient as it is only a mere few seconds to a minute's walk from the Jinjashita bus stop--easy to get to Motohakone for the cruise and also easy to get to Hakone-Yumoto town. But what we love the best about this place is the dining and lounge area. It provides so many kitchen tools and utensils for us to use and we could whip up a nice decent meal, but the icing on the cake was the interior design. It was lovely and was a nice combo of the traditional and the modern.

Could have some shower rooms separate from the onsen available for more privacy. I didn't like the idea that the shower rooms were only available at the B3 floor sharing space with the onsen. Also, not enough toilets.

It's great if you want to stay in a Japanese-style room at a reasonable price. The shared baths are very clean and there's one per floor, so they don't get crowded. They have a gender-segregated public onsen, which is great. The onsen were practically private because there weren't many people using them. Although we only stayed for one day, it was the best stay we had in Japan. We were able to relax and enjoy the onsen. The common areas are beautiful and photo-worthy. The surrounding nature is enchanting. There are a few restaurants nearby, but hours can be somewhat limited. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

It's a bit far from Hakone centre and public transportation is a bit crowded for that area but it's worth it and part of the adventure.

I've never stayed in a capsule before and was dreading it. The private rooms were full. But it was really comfortable and surprisingly spacious. I slept for 9 hours! There's a towel rack, coat hanger, safe, room for a small bag, & dimmer switch. Toothbrushes are available and I hired a yakata for easy changing for the onsens. The communal area is amazingly well equipped with stunning views, and the onsens lovely. The hotel is almost directly opposite the bus stop. There are plenty of places for dinner (the host provided lots of suggestions) but bring breakfast. The host was very helpful with information about the area and transport.

Nothing.

Loved everything about this place. Staff are very kind and speak excellent English, views are amazing, onsen, of course is amazing, especially the outdoor one, and the bath products there are heavenly too. We stayed in a female dorm, there was a massive amount of space for each bed, as it was more capsule style, so also private floor space was included. Common area was beautifully decorated, wi-fi worked, and everywhere smelled amazing. Wish we had booked a longer stay, and would not hesitate to come back.

Only negative was that to reach the reception, you did have to go through a reasonable amount of stairs, which was not easy with big luggage. However, it was worth the effort, and from reception on, an elevator was available. The place is not exactly in the heart of Hakone, but that was not a problem for us. Just enjoyed the onsen, got some food from a nearby 7 eleven and did a small hike around the riverbank.

Theres nothing to say except this place awesome! This place had everything! Clean, all the amenities, and the bunks were huge! The staff were very helpful, and I think they knew that they would need to go through a nice thorough explanation of the facilities and rules when you check in, or else it might have been a little confusing. So it was very helpful when you check in that they go through it with you. I honestly wish I had reason to stay longer! I wish they had other ones in the major cities but I don't think there would be the real estate because this facility was massive. including the lounge and kitchen. Well run facility hopefully others will be able to enjoy it.

Wonderful natural onsen hotsprings and helpful and polite personell. The entire area is kept very tidy and clean. The view from the guest house is stunning, and the area is very cozy. It conveniently has two bus stops that quickly takes you to all the attractions in the area. I loved it. The beds are spacious enough for you to bring in some of your belongings.

I wish there was an elevator down to the reception floor, thankfully the staff were kind enough to help me carry my things up and down.
