Loves the seclusion and the beauty of the nature surrounding each bungalow. Really liked the room concept with the private hot tub balcony. The staff were superb and very accommodating! The view is absolutely incredible in the dining area and there are many small places to sit and enjoy the nature.

Not the fault of the hotel, but we had tiny tiny sugar ants in the room that got into any food in the room itself. Also the power went out a few times and woke us up as the TV went on in the night and the lights all turned back on. Again, not the fault of the hotel exactly, but it wasn’t pleasant.

A very beautiful place in the forest, very private. Nice rooms with own outdoor hot bathtub. A pool you can enjoy without crowd. There is a shared kitchen you can cook, if needed.

New expanding hotel with teething problems. The area is behind the fence (which is good as it gives you privacy and safety) but it was difficult for us to get in upon the arrival as nobody was responding to the bell. Also we were waiting for 30 min to someone to come and pick up the keys upon our departure (reception was still under construction), we missed our tour because of it. Stayed for 3 nights and did not have cleaning even once. No changing wet towels in such humidity is not an option. While people working in the hotel are very nice and responsive, you still need to improve the service - cleaning, check-in and check-out.

The hotel was so clean and the aesthetic was absolutely beautiful. The grounds were meticulously maintained with beautiful flowers and plants. We even saw a sloth and monkeys. Our room, barracuda, was so beautiful and a large amount of space for our family of 5. We loved our outdoor space with our own hammock. The restaurant was delicious and the staff were so attentive (thank you William). Delicious breakfast and cocktails. The pools were great after a long day of adventure. We loved the waterside. The kids also played soccer and basketball. The massage at the spa was perfect. Lastly, the location of the hotel is perfect. So close the La Fortuna town that has many restaurants and shops. Casa del Rio is gated and extremely safe.

Nice breakfast choices. The property was lovely and felt very secure and tropical. Good size rooms and bathrooms. The location was excellent. Close enough where we could walk into downtown or nearby restaurants. Walking distance to the El Salto rope swing and very close to La Fortuna Waterfall too. Using WhatsApp to communicate with the front desk was very convenient and they were very quick to respond.

The faucet handle in the main bathroom shower was very hard to navigate to get the right temperature. We stayed at a two bedroom villa, but the only seating was in the open air with one table and chairs. It would be nice to add a chair or two in the master so at least you could sit somewhere in air conditioning. The lock to the master bedroom door probably needs to be replaced.

This resort is exceptional in every way. The grounds are beautiful, and we saw monkeys and a yellow-throated toucan in the trees. The rooms are lovely, the beds are so comfortable, and the outdoor kitchen we shared with our kids was a great place to gather for pizza, cocktails, etc. The staff were all extra helpful and friendly, especially Katherine, but everyone was great. Our reservations included a full breakfasr from a menu of diverse and delicious choices. Our group of 10 also had two delicious dinners at the restaurant. The amenities are superb, with two pools and jacuzzis, two paddle tennis courts, a small soccer field, and ping pong. Our family group of 10, ages 8 to 78, were blown away, and would return here eagerly. We saw monkeys and sliths while rafting the Balsa and Parapiqui, more monkeys great birds atMistici Hanging Brudges, "canyoned" which was mostly fun rappelling, and went to a sloth sanctuary tobsee mom's and babies. So much to do and such a nice stay at Hotel Boiutique Casa del Rio!

There was nothing not to like! My husband would like tobsee pancakes on the breakfast menu, but that's about all!

What did I like? Everything. Such lush, beautiful landscaping, resort property with parking near your suite. Clean well designed modern rooms, microwave, fridge, coffee station, rainfall showers, lots of closeting, secluded patio with private Jacuzzi. Not to mention the open air restaurant with an incredible view of the volcano, a varied Menue with great options at competitive prices. Amazing breakfast included. A tranquil open air spa by a pond for massage or facial, and exercise, basketball and soccer equipment in the sport area & 2 lovely salt water pools Best of all was the phenomenal staff. Charming front desk manager Haywar attended to all our needs. The maitre'd and restaurant staff were so welcoming and attentive. Surprisingly fabulous.

The. Virtual property management will try to charge you standard rate if you ask to extend your stay, even though the comparable suite is available for 30% lower on booking.com. So book the entire trip on line instead of on site -you will want to stay longer than planned.

What did I like? Everything (except for 1 glitch) The place was far more beautiful than I expected. It was extremely secure, had beautiful landscaping all around, a wonderful restaurant area overlooking the volcano, the rooms were comfortable, modern, clean and very well designed. And all of the in-person the staff was phenomenal. Haywar the front desk manager was charming and accommodating, relaxing open air setting with fabulous views of the volcano at the restaurant was complimented by an extremely attentive maitra d and wait staff. Dinner choices were well thought out, beautifully presented, and very reasonably priced. An exercise room for my son with sports facilities, and a serene open air spa for massage and facial for me. My only recommendation would be to book this through booking.com. for the entire stay, because you will want to stay longer.

This place was so nice, I decided to extend my stay by contacting the virtual management. They offered the extension only at the standard rate, which was 40% higher than booking.com for the same exact room with jacuzzi. I reminded them of the slight maintenance issue that kept this up all night, and still, they still insisted they would downgrade our room. So of course the internet price sold out during the discussion, so we booked a regular room on booking.com to avoid the massive increase. They came into a room while we were on an all day tour and moved us to the downrated room. BUT Even the downloaded room was lovely, so I couldn't get myself to give a bad review.

A wonderful location close to the town and other attractions. Our room was located near a fast moving river and surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens. The room was spacious and very well equipped to a high specification. The pool areas were beautiful and tranquil and relaxing. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. The offer of transportation was brilliant and a huge help to us getting around La Fortuna. I would certainly recommend using this service as it completely takes the stress out of moving around the area. In particular we would like to thank Hayward, Gabriel, Maria & Camila for their outstanding service. We would also like to thank all the support staff, gardeners and cleaners for keeping the place so clean and beautiful and for making our stay such a memorable and enjoyable experience. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

The service at breakfast was sometimes a bit variable. If you have any trips planned you need to allow more time.

Room was better than presented in the pictures, very luxurious, resort has several pools, restaurant a spa for massages (only), great place to chill in between the different activities in La Fortuna.
