The room was a decent size, very clean, and came with a filter coffee maker and air conditioning. The bathroom was spacious, with a good-sized shower cubicle. Breakfast is served across the road at the steakhouse, which is part of the same company. Hotel guests get a discount on lunch, dinner, and non-alcoholic drinks there, which is a nice bonus. The location is very central, close to the bus station, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Be aware that noise can be an issue. During heavy rain, it sounds like a waterfall inside the room, and traffic noise starts very early — I began hearing it from around 5:30 am.

When we first got there we got a welcome drink from the La Vid Steakhouse if you can’t drink alcohol then they have a non-alcoholic beverage, the drinks were free and so was breakfast at the Steakhouse. The rooms were given nice names and the outside of our room you could call it the common area. It has real green leaves and lights strung around the top to look nice, chairs, GIANT jenga,and GIANT connect 4 to play with friends and family. Right out side the room is two nice chairs and a table. Inside is a working TV that plays YouTube and other channels, two side tables, a bed or two, a clean bathroom, and comes with free WiFi.

While we were staying at this hotel from inside our room we could hear the other guests doing a lot (they were a huge party). The hotel could’ve made the walls soundproof. Those others guests left a huge mess for a long time, so we barely had any time at the “common area”.

The staff were fantastic and the hotel was absolutely perfect. From the location to the free breakfast across the street, I couldn't have been happier. I had to work remote a couple of days, and the WIFI was excellent. It is a relatively quick Uber to El Silencio and Arenal Observatory Lodge Trails. To see Arenal, all you have to do is walk outside. Great property!

There was only one small thing and that was the big Jenga blocks outside the rooms in the courtyard. When the blocks fell they would make a very loud clashing noise and one family made quite a racket during inappropriate hours. I would just get rid of the games all together honestly.

I loved the location. It is close to every amenity you could possibly think of. The breakfast had good options and the staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable and the room and property was clean and well kept. I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever in La Fortuna visiting in the future.

I didn't like that there was not a bar soap holder in the shower and there wasn't a 3/4 or body length mirror in the room but that didn't take away from the overall experience; just suggestions to make the accommodations even better. Just to note: It is in the centre of downtown so the surroundings is a bit noisy so take ear plugs for sleep if you're a light sleeper.

The bed was super comfortable and the included breakfast at the restaurant across the road was simple but good. The aircon was powerful and effective. The bedroom was a good size as was the bathroom. Check-in was easy and I could come and go as I please with a locked gate for entry after 4pm

Some of the bathroom window panes were broken which meant insects got in easily. As others have said the noise at night, particularly on the Friday was loud and lasted until quite late, but easily dealable with with my earplugs

We spent such a great time there! Guillermo an incredible and friendly host who recommended us many activities to the in LA fortuna (e.g: volcano trecking, coffee tour, Fortuna waterfalls). The breakfast delicious! You can pick 4 within differents alternatives (typical option is the best) plus local fruit, coffee and juice. The hotel is so lovely with a wineyard inspiration. Also if you do not arrive on check in time you can do it later, in a restaurant in front of the hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice and comfy room. Lovely courtyard with seating and board games beneath the vines. Good location within the town. Great value for money. Breakfast was good in the restaurant opposite which has the same owner.

Avoid the restaurant for dinner even if offered 10% off. Food was overpriced and was not good. Meat was chewy and vegetables undercooked. The worst restaurant we went to in Costa Rica - just not worth it.

Great location close to everything in town.

When I arrived in the pouring rain at 6:30 pm, the entrance door was locked & no staff were there. After I stood outside in the rain knocking for at least 5 minutes, a kindly passerby on the street told me that I should go across the street to the La Vid Steakhouse. I did so and Jeremy, who appeared to be a head waiter, had my name and room key. He escorted me to my room and later gave me a welcome fruit juice drink. Also, my room had no toilet paper. Fortunately, there was a store around the corner where I was able to purchase some.

The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Great location, 2 minute walk from bus station. Right in the heart of La Fortuna. Has its sister restaurant right over the road.

For me the bed was a little hard but for my friend this was perfect so just personal preference. We are early birds so did find it a little noisy in the evening when trying to sleep, but wouldn’t put us off staying again and nothing ear buds couldn’t fix :)

I had a great stay at Hotel La Vid. The rooms were clean and cozy, with hot water and a great central location. The staff were very friendly, and the included breakfast and welcome drink were excellent. Overall, a great choice for comfort and convenience!

The only downside was the lack of soundproofing, as you could hear all outside noise from the room.
