The service! Daniel is the best receptionist I have ever encountered. He is very knowledgeable about the area and very willing to answer any questions you have. He is very friendly and his English is great! The view of the volcano in the lounge area is a huge bonus as well as the homemade breakfast catered to you. The hotel is right in the heart of La Fortuna. There’s grocery stores all around as well as shops. Not to mention, the horseback riding and zip lining activity I booked with the hotel were fantastic. The horseback riding went around an area giving us a great view of the volcano and the zip line was next to the waterfall so as you can imagine the views were fantastic as well. Would 100% recommend!

Everything was fantastic!

We had a twin room with a view on the second floor. The balcony was perfect with big patio doors,nice chairs and an awesome view. The beds and bathrooms were clean, comfy and modern. The room was well appointed with desk, drawer, closet, hooks. The whole place felt good with a very inviting, calm decor that was modern but still felt homey and Costa Rican. There was a communal lounge that was super cool and a few other seating areas throughout (loved the egg chairs!) Staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was yummy and filling. The location was great in that it was just off the edge of town but still just a minute walk away.

It is clean and nicely decorated. Closed to the town center and walking distance to good restaurants.

We got 2 beers from the mini fridge that was introduced to us the drinks in the fridge were for free. And when we got the beers, we double checked whether they were free and we got a yes answer. But during checkout, we were told that we needed to pay 8 dollars for 2 cans of beer (not draft beer). First if it is not free, you SHOULD PUT A PRICE TAG to the fridge and don’t tell people drinks in the fridge are for free (I finally realized they only meant the fruit punch in the glasses was free). Second, 4 dollars for a can of beer is over priced to be honest.

La Fortuna Lodge has a great location, close to shops, restaurants , laundry and activities. The lodge has a fantastic view of Arenal volcano. The large shared open air patio was a highlight. The rooms are nice but small so the patio was great . Lots of different areas to watch the many birds in the trees or the ever changing clouds around Arenal . The sink and kitchen area were a popular place to prepare a snack . It was great to visit with other travelers. The breakfast selection was really nice and I enjoyed all the offerings. The staff were pleasant and helpful.

The rooms are small and not much closet space for storage. It was a bit frustrating to have to buzz to get back in and also to go out but it must be for security.

I had a great stay at La Fortuna Lodge by Treebu Hotels! The location is very central (but at the same time away from the main street at La Fortuna so is very peaceful), the hotel is nice and modern, and the staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They serve delicious breakfasts as well!

My room unfortunately didn't have a proper window I can open and had bars on the window with very little light (I took a Standard, but the other rooms with balconies Im sure are very very nice on that front!). One other thing: I asked for extra eggs for breakfast and got charged $4.. which is quite a lot. Also, they charge a very high price to do the laundry, I would recommend going a few steps down the street to a local Lavanderia El Almendro, for a fraction of the price and very quick. Other than that the stay was very nice! I would go again

Really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and different options. Location was quiet yet only a couple blocks walking distance from main square. Staff were amazing, very thoughtful and kind. Went out of their way to make our trip enjoyable. We felt very welcome as soon as we arrived. Gardens were beautiful. View of the volcano was great when not clouded over. One of the best hotel experiences we have had on our month long trip around Costa Rica so far.

This lodge is located within 3ish blocks of La Fortuna's main plaza - which is a great location because you are close to everything, but you don't hear all of the noise (3 blocks makes a big difference). The room we stayed in had a beautiful balcony that faced the volcano, and while the clouds kept the volcano hidden for most of our visit, we saw tucans in the treetops from the balcony and had a wonderful view of the town. The bed was comfortable and the room was spotless. Each night we selected a time to eat breakfast the next day and selected from 4 different breakfast options - we tried them all, and they were all superb. All in all, we loved everything about this lodge and would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay! The location is very central, within walking distance to the center and supermarkets, restaurants, etc. Yet it is on a calm road so not very noisy from the outside. On the inside however, it is possible to hear the other guests but nothing that really bothered us. We arrived earlier and it was possible to do the check-in early. Breakfast was good and they managed to prepare it half an hour earlier than the regular start for us since we had to leave early. Bathroom was clean, big and nice, bed was very comfortable. It is a hotel but I would say I felt a bit the feeling of a hostel, which I liked it, very easy going.

We liked our stay very much but if I were to say something would be: This hotel has more of a urban feel to it so I recommend staying here only if you want a comfortable place to sleep and go to do the tours during the day or if you want to stay within the city. In the region there are other options of hotels that have swimming pool, spa, etc which is a different vibe so it really depends on what you want. Also, we were supposed to have a volcano view but we didnt because it was cloudy :( But of course the accommodation does not have to do with it, it seems like it is pretty common to have this kind of weather there.

Room was very clean and reasonably spacious. Location was quiet but convenient to restaurants, etc. Staff were friendly. There were several attractive outdoor seating areas available. Breakfast was tasty and there was a nice selection of menu options. We had a view of the Arenal volcano when the clouds lifted.

The street where the hotel was located had a couple of buildings in poor repair, which felt a little "sketchy" at first. However security for the building was good and there was a nearby parking lot that was locked at night. We felt safe walking back and forth to dinner after dark.

We loved this place and the staff were so kind, knowledgeable and helpful! Included breakfast was great with multiple food and sitting time options. It's a quiet location, a couple blocks off the main drag, but still felt safe walking there in the evening. There are some nice sitting areas around the grounds along with a water station to fill your vessel with bottled water. The front desk staff helped us book tours, recommended places to eat and helped with directions around town. They really went out of their way to help us in any way they could! Our room was on the 3rd floor facing the volcano. Nice view. Room had A/C, comfortable king bed, fridge, a safe, coffee station, and bathroom/shower toiletries.

Very limited parking and tight spaces - we had to park on the street a few times. There are no elevators so prepare for stairs if you are on the 2nd or 3rd floor. We chose 3rd floor and didn't mind the stairs at all but others might not like that. We had to ask front desk for a hair dryer which wasn't in the room when we checked in. Front desk staff is there 7am to 9pm and gave us one to use for our stay. It would have been nice to have one in the room initially.
