Very friendly and accommodating staff. Lovely premises and good location for the airport. The food in their restaurant is exceptional. Buffet breakfast and key drop meant it was great for our 4.15am departure to the airport.

The stairs would have been a real problem for me if my daughter hadn't as also stayed the night. It was a stop over for my early flight from Bristol airport, and I would never have been able to take my large suitcase up the narrow and winding stairs. Very interesting staircase though, double twist half way up! If I stay there again without a car I'll have to take a bicycle lock to chain my case up in the breakfast room!

We’ve stayed at the George a few times. This was our best experience since our first visit. The staff were very helpful, the welcome gift was a nice touch. The menu is the best it’s been for years and the variety of choice on a Sunday was very welcome. My room was a little damaged in places. It’s a shame other guests hadn’t been more careful. The ample free parking is handy. It feels like a safe location and is popular with locals for food and drinks which is always a good sign.

The rooms are hot in hot weather. The addition of fans in every room is welcome but the rooms remain hot and can be difficult to sleep in when it’s hot.

Fab property. Lovely outside seating area, with pretty lights from tree to tree which looked gorgeous when the sun has set. Our room was clean and had all the facilities we needed. Lovely selection of bath products. The bar and restaurant area is cosy. All the staff were so kind, attentive and cheerful. We had a lovely evening meal. Great nights sleep on a lovely comfortable bed.

Only one thing. We placed a drinks order with the owner and asked to settle our bill. He then motioned to someone else to do this and walked off. We then passed him in the conservatory where he was giving a young member of staff feed back on his customer service that could have been handled in a more constructive way and away from customers. I found this quite contradictory as he had just walked off after we placed our order.

The room was small but well furnished. Very modern and clean and attractive. The en-suite on first impressions was modern with good fittings. The staff were wonderful, helpful and efficient.

The room was adjacent to a busy road a because of an ill-fitting blind the car headlights shine into the room throughout the night, a blackout blind would fix this. The bathroom is a wet room design which resulted in the whole of the floor becoming wet and slippery during use, this could be very dangerous, especially as we are in our 70s. A mirror over the desk/dressing table would be useful when using the hairdryer or hair straighteners.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was small but well equipped. We loved the theming of the room around different Georges! A clever idea that made the rooms very individual. Small gestures like the homemade cookies and posh teas were a lovely touch. The bed, pillows, bedlinen and towels were excellent quality. An ideal place before we set off for Bristol airport the following morning. A continental breakfast was set out to help yourself from very early, an excellent idea.

The shower had good pressure but due to the bijou nature of the space needed careful handling or everything got soaking wet.

close to Bristol Airport which is why we booked... was very reasonably priced. exactly what we wanted for a little sleep before getting a flight early hours. staff were very friendly. checked us in and showed us to our room, explained in detail everything we needed to know and showed us where to help ourselves to continental breakfast the next morning whilst checking out early hours alone. was pleasently surprised with how nice the place was and have said we would probably come back here just for an over night stay another time the outside searing area looked amazing lit up at night very cosy

Very comfortable. Friendly welcome.

The hot drink I requested from the machine at the bar was served only tepid. We felt a little rushed about our evening meal. I had been informed that the restaurant was running until 9pm then on our arrival told that we would have to be there for 8.30pm which put a slight edge on things. I was a little surprised to learn that no salad was available when I asked for an alternative to potatoes as this was 'unseasonal' - surely this is a healthy choice which is usual at any time of the year. On collecting my things from the room a staff member pointed out that I was slightly late (only 10 minutes) - was this necessary?

This establishment was our “local” for many years. It has always been a favourite apart from a short spell between managements!! Happy to be there.

Difficult to state what is to dislike BUT, there has always been an issue for those many people who suffer, through no fault of their own, from a Gluten allergy. Nowadays, there is no excuse whatever for not providing many GF options. This is a worldwide trend and should be observed. There is another eating establishment only 3 miles away with a huge menu and most dishes are available totally GF. A point that should be addressed by the current management.

Last minute booking as we were travelling early from Bristol airport, and this was really close to where we were leaving our car. What a great surprise we had to find a lovely garden especially as the sun was shining. All the bedrooms are named after a different famous George, ours was Clooney (dont mind if I do) and the room was exactly what we wanted and gave us a good nights sleep. We had booked for food and had a really good meal. The staff were super friendly. We will definetely book again.

Lovely first impressions all the way from the car park to our room. Loved the various public rooms & the friendly & efficient staff. Attractive decor throughout. We all enjoyed our evening meal in the restaurant. Would be more than happy to stay there again if in the area. PS None of us were flying from Bristol airport but The George is well geared up to cater for those flying from Bristol.

Just one small niggle - one of our party fancied the pizza for dinner but was not allowed to have this in the restaurant as it was considered ‘bar food’. A shame, especially as we were staying overnight & not just calling in for a drink & something to eat. Luckily, our friend thoroughly enjoyed the ‘main meal’ she had instead.
