Our stay at Marion Lodge was truly unforgettable. The place is absolutely beautiful and located in a quiet, secure and elegant part of Sandton. It didn’t feel like just a hotel, it felt like a real home. The owners and staff were incredibly kind, warm and helpful throughout our stay. We stayed in the family room, which was spacious, cozy and perfect for us : one big bed, a super comfy single bed, a wardrobe, a small table, a couch, and a TV with Netflix and YouTube. Everything we needed was there. We also appreciated the little extras : a fridge, a kettle with tea and coffee always available. The bathroom was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a real treat ! Sometimes à la carte, sometimes buffet - always tasty, with a wide variety of sweet and savory options. We felt so comfortable and safe, even coming back late at night. The whole atmosphere was peaceful, homey, and full of good energy. We already miss it.🥹 Thank you Marion Lodge for making our time in Johannesburg so special, we will definitely come back one day! 💛

The property is closer to Mandela square and sandton Gautrain station. It’s a beautiful place with a garden. The pool side is awesome. My check-in was smooth and I was welcomed with coffee and delicious cookies. Candice took me through to their dining area as I waited for my room to be fully prepared since i arrived before check-in time. Later on Humfrey arranged for my breakfast since i was leaving early the next morning. He was kind and gave all insightful information about their services. I enjoyed the watching movies on Netflix and the water was super hot in the shower which i liked. The aircon kept me warm during the entire stay since it was cold.

I guess a microwave would come in handy

Special thanks to the management for creating such a welcoming and well-maintained space. Breakfast was another highlight — fresh, delicious, and beautifully served. Whether I wanted a hearty start or something light, there was always something to enjoy. Marion Lodge is truly a hidden gem, offering warmth, elegance, and exceptional service in a quiet, upscale setting. Quiet tranquil property located in a safe gated neighborhood with a brilliant owner and housekeeping team. The rooms are modest, clean and good value for money. The staff really go out of their way to make sure you are looked after. A superb breakfast is served every morning in a wonderful lounge area by the pool. The location is nested in the northern suburbs and only a short taxi from Sandton City and the Gautrain Station. On my recent trip to Johannesburg I stayed twice and I wouldn't hesitate to book again on my next trip.

Location Cleaniless Helpful staff Affordability

The bathroom is facing the parking lot and has frosted glass and blinds but I struggled to close the blinds and from outside, you can see a person's silhouette. The bed is conformable but it is very low. Maybe a higher base with the same mattress would be ideal. There is only one small window that opens to the outside. The advert says there is a balcony but it is only steps leading outside. The glass doors don't open to let in air and the room in the morning can become stale. But the owners and the staff are excellent Lastly, is there any way we can have the gate being opened sooner especially when you are checking out or just going out?

Tucked away in the Sandown vicinity with incredibly reasonable prices, I chose to spend 2 nights at Marion Lodge and had a delightful experience. From the moment I arrived, Tandile (if my memory serves me right 🙈) made me feel welcome with her friendly and attentive service. The lodge boasts a charming, cozy atmosphere that truly feels like a home away from home. I stayed in Room 5, which was comfortable, clean, and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was a standout feature, offering a selection of fresh and delicious options. The owners were exceptionally friendly, and I saw them twice during my stay. They checked in with me privately to ensure everything was to my liking. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant and comfortable place to stay!

As always, the staff are genuinely friendly. They make you feel welcome, and if you up for a quick chat, you walk away smiling or laughing.

Not sure if it's only some rooms, but when the shower is used in another room, the sound from the pipes echoed into my room. I did mention it to the host when he asked if everything is to my satisfaction. But other than this, Marion Lodge is an amazing facility, and I come back each time 😊

We stayed in the family room. It was clean, warm, and comfy. It's just a small issue with the shower drain not draining as quickly as it should, which leads to the water pooling in it. And there was no bath mat. We had to use towels when stepping out of the shower. They organized transportation for us to attend a concert, and breakfast was a good spread. The place is very well maintained, and I'm definitely going back.

Found this place by luck and I think I have found my home for when ever I am in Johannesburg, we booked the family room with my two friends, sparkling clean and the comfort of the beds. The pool is super clean and the owner with all her staff are super amazing made we were well taken care off. Bonus was their yummy breakfast. Definitely will stay there again 😊😊😊

Nothing at all, everything was perfect

It’s a convenient location. The stuff was super friendly. Asrin is an amazing host. Food was great. It’s a secure lodge, quiet and beautiful- away from the main roads but close to the shopping centered, such as Sandton City and Mandela Square. The place is clean too.

It could do with upgrades to keep up with similar properties.
