Ideal central location to everything! No there isn’t parking and yes, there are stairs - but we were told about this in a very detailed welcome email. Lots of car parks a few minutes walk away were recommended and we paid €30 for 3 days. There was someone at reception who helped with our bags to our room and when we checked out. We were told about lots of places to eat and they were amazing! The room overlooked the harbour, was clean and very spacious - and the view! We had triple glazing and were warned it may be loud if we opened them - we did sometimes to hear the hustle and bustle from the streets. Air con was great. Both breakfasts were delicious and big! It was a great stay and we will definitely be back!

The stairs were a challenge - but we were warned about them and you only have to carry your bags twice; check in and check out. The accommodation, location and views make up for it!

Great location right on the harbour front.

Some confusion over payment, initial payment method declined (perhaps a numeric mistake on our part), the property sent a message asking for payment to be made another way which we did. Right up to the day of arrival we were getting messages via booking.com that our payment was rejected and to pay via another link, we knew the payment had cleared on our card so this was concerning. However we emailed the property direct on the morning of arrival and explained the payment was made and they confirmed this was true, there was something odd going on though.

Extremely central so very easy to navigate the city. That being said the room was quadruple glazed so we heard little of outside noises. We were at the top but we knew to bring smaller bags and parked at Verdun which was cheaper than expected for two nights parking but still needs to be factored in. Tea and coffee making facilities but a French cup so no handles!

A little style over substance, a decent chair to sit on to enjoy the view would have been nice rather than a bucket kitchen chair and we also missed a bedside cabinet. Also only two towels provided in the bathroom .

Wonderfully central position, very friendly staff, small room but considering location it was great.

It said there was parking, however recommended car park by port, although not underground, had really narrow spaces. Returning to pick up our beautifully parked car, someone had scrapped along the side!!

Close proximity to amenities & harbour. Friendly staff … Vincent was very helpful. Felt secure at night. Room was clean. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was lovely. Vincent contacted us the day before we were due to arrive. Parking instruction for Verdun car park was excellent!!

Quite a few steps but still doable at our age.

Great placating for eating out etc. the room was spacious and modern and comfortable. Slept very well. Staff were fantastic. Vincent was wonderful. Polite kind, nothing too much trouble. Very friendly patient and understanding that we were tired from travelling on our motorbike. Helped us find safe secure parking. Ursula also very kind helpful and friendly. Would return to La Marine

the Location is perfect for me. I like the view of the port. The closeness of shops, restaurants and sea. The friendliness of staff and the recommendations I received. The a/c was very good for me. It was there but not on top of my head or bed.

I should have asked for a room if available on the reception floor

Room was excellent, staff very helpful, breakfast delicious and overall it was a very pleasant stay.

The wi-fi in our room (room 6) was very weak, almost impossible to stay connected for more than a minute or so. Finding parking is not easy, but you can't blame the hotel for that, and they do offer several suggestions in the emails.

Right in the middle of the waterfront restaurant and tourist area of the old harbor. Room upgrade thanks to Booking was really nice and we got the best view right out over the water. Very helpful and friendly reception staff, not least with carrying some of our baggage up from street-level entrance (since they have no elevator). The Harbor area of La Rochelle is beautiful, with lots to see and do and with great dining and cafés, etc.

Parking is a bit of a hassle, but it isn't the hotel's fault. The local government is trying to make the waterfront area a nearly car-free pedestrian area, which is nice once you are there. It was, however, possible to (slowly and carefully) drive to the hotel to drop off luggage. Underground parking is an 8-10 minute walk away along interesting streets, shops, and restaurants, and was reasonably priced. Lack of elevator in the hotel was not an issue for us, but might be a problem for people with reduced mobility.

This hotel is right in the heart of downtown La Rochelle along the harbor, so it is an easy walk to restaurants, the ferris wheel, and all the sights. We had a lovely room that was very comfortable and quiet. The toilet broke a part on our 2nd night, so we had a plumber in the room at 11:30 pm at night. These things happen, so it wasn't really the hotel's fault, but it disturbed our night's sleep. We felt the hotel should have compensated us in some way, but they didn't.

There are 2 flights of stairs to get up to the hotel desk, and then our room was 3 flights more above that. There is no elevator, so keep that in mind. The paid parking isn't particularly close to the hotel, so dragging one's bags can also be an issue.
