This is a lovely place in a great location that provides yummy breakfast daily and has an extremely caring staff. From the day of our arrival on, the staff checked in with us daily to be sure all was great. Peter, in particular, made sure we knew the best spots to eat and also helped quickly resolve an issue with our room. We'd stay again for sure and already are talking about our next visit!

We stayed in one of the little casitas that didn't have the same Spanish vibe as the others. It was nice but more beach themed. On our next visit we'll stay in a room in the hotel itself as we really preferred that vibe.

We booked the San Clemente casita for our babymoon & it was so lovely! The room was updated with modern amenities, while still maintaining the original era charm of the property. The staff even decorated our suite with the cutest swan figures made from towels & rose petals. The king bed was very comfy & we LOVED the fireplace--every evening & morning we turned that on & enjoyed coffee in bed before heading over to the restaurant for breakfast. It did warm up the room just that perfect amount. The jacuzzi tub was awesome, although one of the jets was not functioning properly. The waterfall showerhead in the bathroom was amazing for washing hair & just taking a relaxing shower. We stayed for 3 nights & went to the restaurant on property every morning for the complimentary breakfast. The menu was slightly different each morning & it was such a nice way to start the day. The coffee/espresso machine in the lobby was a very nice perk. Lots of yummy options there. The front desk staff were very accommodating & gave us some great local recommendations for spots to try out. Property is a short walk to the beach--we walked along the pathway to Stearns Wharf one morning & it was so peaceful. Close proximity to State Street & the Funk zone where there are tons of restaurants, shops & drinkeries. We'll have to go back when I'm not pregnant so that I can partake in all the great wine in the region!

Overall the property and location was very quiet. On our last night there, the guests in the casita next door to us had some folks over & were outside on the patio enjoying their evening. It was quite loud and a bit on the later side, but I messaged the front desk & they addressed the issue quickly so that we were able to get some sleep before our travel day.

We had a fantastic stay at the Eagle Inn! Everyone on staff is so friendly and welcoming, and offered great recommendations for our trip. It's in a great location - quiet, but walkable to the beach and the Funk Zone, and just a slightly longer walk to the main part of State Street. The daily breakfast was exceptional - the perfect portion and good variety to start your day. The room was very comfortable with a fridge, microwave, and fireplace. Our room was cleaned daily, which was really nice, as that's been a rarity on many of our recent trips. And free parking in the lot was plentiful.

The only slight criticism is that the bed was a bit too soft and springy for my taste - but that's likely personal preference. The furnishings in our casita were a bit outdated, but everything is in great condition and well taken care of, so we didn't mind.

The property is truly a gem nestled in a quiet neighborhood.Just a few steps away from the beach. The rooms were spacious and had plenty of room for 2 adults. It had a cute little Balcony that faced the quiet street In which we were able to enjoy our morning coffee. The staff was super attentive and checked in on us via text if there was anything we needed. I especially liked that there were fresh baked cookies.Coffee tea and other refreshments available throughout the day for guests. Another added bonus was the breakfast which was made to order for each guest.

Located in a very quiet and nice neighborhood. Location was great - walking distance from the main street and the beach. Staff at check in was very nice and welcoming! I got a whole little apartment which was spacious, clean and well-equipped. Free and private parking space of the premises which was a big advantage and very convenient.

Apartment or ‘Casita’, as they call it, felt a bit outdated in terms of furnishings. Neighborhood outside is very quiet and beautiful but no street lights. Was very dark to walk around when the sun went down. Had to checked out at 7am to catch my flight back from LAX and the front desk was not staffed or had any instructions for early check outs so I just left the keys there and called later to make sure everything was sorted out. Nothing major but when you’re in a hurry and have no one instructions, gets you a bit nervous.

The Spanish furniture, the art, the balcony where we could have breakfast, the fact that the room was cleaned every day, the friendliness of the staff who helped quickly when there was a problem with my key, the location a few blocks from the beach and State Street, the area was safe and pretty, the bed was comfortable, the coffee and tea available in the rooms, in the lobby, all day long, the homemade cookies, the free water bottle, free parking and wifi. Many cable channels to watch on tv.

It was hard to get the room warm. It was expensive by the time all the fees were added on. The sound on the tv was sometimes not clear, I had to sit very close to hear it sometimes.

The entire building was stunning: beautifully maintained vintage architecture and design, with artwork and appointments that all worked together to create a gorgeous whole. Our room was set to be romantic for our anniversary (rose petals, towel swans, real roses... very sweet), a lovely space in keeping with the vintage style of the entire inn. There was a spa tub, comfortable bed, charming fireplace (which we used on the cool morning); everything was perfectly set, clean, and handy. The breakfast was delicious and expertly prepared. All the staff, from the front desk, to the breakfast room servers, to the maids, were friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Loved the location -- we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go -- and the front desk fellow's recommendation for dinner (Brophy Brothers) was delightful. The cookies... scrumptious! :)

The internet in our room was slower than we would have liked.

It is a well-run, family-owned operation with all the amenities that you would need. They have a 24/7 self-serve coffee/cappucino machine and water cooler in the lobby, as well as providing salt water toffee and cookies. Home-made breakfast is included in the morning, and there is a vegetarian selection as well as granola, cereal and fresh fruit. The bed was very comfortable, and the rooms were well-decorated with antiques. The air conditioning and ceiling fan worked well. There is a small fridge and microwave in our room. There is free parking. The location was perfect. We were a short walk to the beach and the Funk Zone, with many restaurants and shops.

The safe was not working in our room. The seating on the patio for breakfast was uncomfortable, as the love seat was a bit worn and sloped, so we were sliding toward each other. Great for cuddling, but not so great when eating breakfast.

This little pleasant hotel is great. We have been there few years ago and it is still very good as we remembered. Very good location on a quite street and literally 2 minutes walk to the beach (and 7 to the pier). We got a great room with a balcony which was great. Room is clean and vey nice - as the rest of the building. Breakfast is exceptional - served per order with attentive stuff and is a great way to start the day on the dining room balcony. Would definitely recommend and would plan to come again. They have good coffee machine (and tea offerings) available in the lobby area plus a coffee machine in each room which is a plus for me. Parking is available at the hotel (at no cost!!) so no need to worry about that.

That we had to leave...... Nothing that we didn't like

The location was convenient to the waterfront and several restaurants. The room was nice, clean and spacious. The front desk staff were great. The room price included the use of bikes and helmets to ride as long as we wanted. It was convenient to get breakfast on site.

The shutters in our room let in lots of light at night due parking lot spot lights. The laundry was directly below us in room 218 and they bang around each morning at 6am. I'd prefer real eggs for breakfast but the meal was far above most hotels meals and the service was excellent. It's a long walk to the main part of downtown so we drove when not on our bikes.
