I recently stayed at the Swissôtel Kursaal Bern and was thoroughly impressed by the experience. The hotel is perfectly situated, just a short walk from Bern’s charming Old Town and major attractions like the Zytglogge and the Bear Park. The location makes it an excellent base for both business and leisure travelers. The hotel itself is modern and stylish, with a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you step into the lobby. My room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and featured contemporary decor with thoughtful touches. The bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated the high-quality linens and amenities, including a Nespresso machine and a well-designed workspace. The views over the city from my window and small balcony were a wonderful bonus. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fresh, local options. The staff at Swissôtel Kursaal Bern were outstanding—friendly, professional, and always ready to assist with recommendations or special requests. Check-in and check-out were efficient and hassle-free. Overall, Swissôtel Kursaal Bern met my expectations. It combines modern luxury with Swiss hospitality, making it a top choice for anyone visiting Bern. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a touch of elegance in the Swiss capital.

The bathroom sink was extremely small, and the shower base was probably the most slippery I have ever experienced, I would say deadly in fact. There was no iron & ironing board in the room, which seems to be standard in Switzerland, even for 4 and 5 start hotels.

I am totally satisfied just except when check out my credit card seems not successfully be transacted, this maybe makes the reception lady feel upset and impolite. personally I feel she should be more patient. and later another lady friendly resolved this small case. But still this is a nice hotel and recommended.

The room was very roomy and clean. The shower was fantastic. The double bed was massive and very comfortable. The whole hotel is a great piece of modern architecture and the interior is worth seeing. The room “controls” were also quite “hi-tech”; it took me a while to work out how the lights were controlled. The hotel is in a central location, easy walking distance to the centre of town. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking is really convenient – right under the hotel with a lift up into the hotel. Note that although most of the wall sockets are Swiss ones – there is also a Euro style one at the desk. The room is on the expensive side, the most expensive we stayed in on our pan-European trip but this seems a normal for Switzerland. On the whole probably value for money if you want to treat yourself.

After we asked for a different room which they charged us extra, we had a great view of the mountains, the room had all the amenities we could need.

Beware! No where in the description did it say the room we were booking faced an interior wall!! It’s horrible! It was dark & literally all you saw was an interior wall, this should be clear in the description! Restaurant was too expensive & if you have trouble walking there would be absolutely nothing around there to see. Not the best location.

- Room was comfortable and spacious. - Friendly multilingual staff at check-in. - Free minibar, with fridge regularly restocked with water (sparkling and still), apple juice, and even beer. - Good coffee pod machine.

- Strangely small bins. - Room phone is impossible to use, and the in-room iPad does not provide instructions to call reception/housekeeping. - Be aware that the bridge and tram just outside the hotel are closed until Nov 2025 (though pedestrians can still cross).

Location was excellent. Just outside is the tram station and close yet away from the noise of the old city ( 1 stop away) .. plenty of eateries 500 m away makes this easy to access and stay. It has a on site casino if that is your incentive to stay... the staff are polite and premises is very clean with a very nice bar. Room size is good with good amenities and daily impeccable housekeeping

In the room I stayed , there was no option to open window, no skylight or access of any open window or balcony and no fans in room that allows for fresh air or ventilation and this can be little overwhelming when hot or can be little claustrophobic (even though room sizes are not small) . Hence, it is preferable to take a balcony room. Breakfast is exorbitantly expensive here and not worth the price at all. The rest of the room amenities are great, including the free mini bar.

Extremely convenient! The tram stops right in front of the hotel, making it easy to reach the city center, Bern Old Town, and other destinations. The room is very spacious and immaculately clean. Additionally, the hotel offers complimentary beer, apple cider, and mineral water (two bottles of each) daily during your stay. The staff is friendly, and it's within walking distance to the old town. Best of all, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking!

The room was large with plenty of space for belongings . The free mini bar was excellent with drinks replenished every day. The breakfast choice was outstanding. Close to town to walk in or with tram stop outside. Great to have free local travel pass.

This is just a suggestion: For guests who don't drink alcohol, a non alcoholic beer would be nice in the mini bar.

The mini bar was well stocked and generous. The bathroom was well designed, great water pressure, plenty of towels and I liked the quality of the toiletries. Coffee maker and teapot in room with a nice selection of coffees and teas. Housekeeping kept everything tidied and fresh. Free public transport in Bern a big plus.

The "courtyard" room is not on an outside courtyard but on a sunless gap between two buildings. This is a bit strange. Also I think the matress in the room, its time to replace. Bit lumpy.

The location is great! It’s not in old town but just cross a bridge. Line 9 just out of the hotel. It most runs every 5 minutes during weekdays. Mini bar is free. They will provide everyday. Hotel provides bus ticket. So you do not need to purchase any bus or tram tickets. It’s quiet during evening. Staff are very helpful!

The clean lady may need more training. They did not clean every spot just like other hotels did. But not a big deal. The hotel is renovated and clean.
