We were given a welcome room upgrade, so this review is for a sixth floor junior suite. Spacious room with large bed, plenty of room to hang clothes, separate WC and shower. Coffee making facilities (no kettle, but perhaps one would have been available on request). We were advised that drinks in the mini bar were free, but this seemed to refer to the two bottles of water in the fridge. Nice towels and toiletries, large wash basin. Air conditioning, though I am not sure if it was working as room was stuffy. Good desk and additional easy chair. 10 minutes walk to main railway station, though streets were crowded and it was a little difficult to wheel a suitcase through all the people!

Staff were lovely but more of them were needed, particularly at breakfast, which was very busy, and also at lunchtime when people were arriving and leaving and there seemed to be only one man on Reception, who was also dealing with guests' left luggage. Overly thick pillows. Difficult to adjust shower temperature without putting hand and arm under water flow. Bedside lights were strange - one didn't turn on and the other didn't switch off (it went from bright to dim, but not off - in the end we had to unscrew the light bulb!).

- Very central location, 2 minutes' walk from the Parliament Building and within easy walking distance from the main attractions in Bern, including Marzili public pools, the Zytglogge clock, the Bear Park and Rose Garden, and the Aare river. Also very close to the central train station, and to some convenient (but expensive) parking garages. - Very comfortable bedding, fluffy pillows, silky sheets and duvets. The beds were very large and allowed for very good nights. - Excellent breakfast with a lot of variety (cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables, yogurt station with toppings, pastry and bread station, hot dishes, like eggs and sausages) -Very easy to use and convenient app, to get tips about the city or to order missing amenities or refills for things like shampoo or toothpaste.

Cleanliness of the room could have been better, there was a lot of dust in the corners, on the pipes, etc. Nothing major, but definitely an attention point.

The hotel is in a fantastic location near the train station and right in the old town area of Bern. We were able to walk everywhere and catch public transit close to the hotel as well. The staff was very nice & helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious enough for our family (2 triple rooms). The hotel is in very good shape & we enjoyed the stay. The bar staff was very nice as well & provided ice for an injury as well as for our cooler to keep our stash of Swiss Chocolate from melting (heat wave issue).

The rooms have AC but it is not like US AC - but the staff brought in a stand up fan to each room to help with the airflow. We stayed during the Euopean Heat Wave in June/July 2025 so this normally would not be an issue.

We had a fantastic one-night stay at NH Bern The Bristol! Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade, which set the tone for an unforgettable experience. But the surprises didn’t stop there – the staff also made our stay even more memorable by giving us a free drinks ticket at the bar, which was a lovely gesture. Our room was stylish, new, and spotless. The comfortable bed ensured a restful night, and the spacious bathroom with all the necessary amenities was perfect. With such a great location in the heart of Bern, exploring the city was a breeze. It was the perfect base for our short visit, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Bern, even if just for one night!

Nice, simple and clean hotel with a very good location close to the train station and old town. Good choice for two nights, quiet room without noise. Tasty breakfast, standard choice. Friendly staff. Awindow that can be opened. Coffee machine with coffee and tea at the room.

The room overlooking the yard, where there were many pigeons, but my mistake, I chose this room because I was affraid of noise from the street. Next time I would pay for city view room, the streets in Bern are very quiet

The property was in a great location - really central and close to the main train station. The breakfast had a good selection and was tasty. The room was clean and had everything I needed. The staff were lovely, and I particularly appreciated Costa looking after my two friends in reception while I went upstairs to get my things together to leave.

The room was “cosy” as it had slanted ceilings and the shower on/off buttons kept sticking so it took me a while to get them to turn off the first time I used the shower.

Close proximity to Bern bahnhof. Quirky lobby decor with a bar . Room is big with ample furniture . There was a balcony in my room . Love the water pressure and availability of shampoo , conditioner and shower gel . Other amenities can be requested . Friendly and obligated reception staff .

The shower flooring a bit slippery , need to be careful . Room light quite dim but glad the bathroom light was bright. Mattress and pillows too soft to my liking.

We had a very good stay at NH Bern The Bristol. The staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, handling the steady stream of guests with efficiency and a smile. The hotel also provided a secure place to park our bicycles inside, which gave us peace of mind during our stay. The beds were very comfortable with soft linens, making for a restful sleep. The location was perfect for walking around Bern, seeing the sights, with plenty of places to eat nearby.

The property was clean, and the staff was attentive. We had a problem with our air conditioner leaking water. (It was extremely hot in Switzerland). Within 5 minutes of calling the front desk, two staff members arrived, accessed the situation; and in 15 mins. we were moved to another room and given a free breakfast for our troubles. Although I was not aware of any on site restaurants, there were myriad options locally.

I really can't find a fault with this hotel without comparing it to hotels outside of this price range. I guess one small thing would be that the cleaning staff starts a little early and makes a lot of noise. Not a problem for visitors that wake up early anyway due to the time difference.

Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in Bern. The location is very convenient, the rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable (especially the beds) but the highlight was how friendly and helpful the staff were. A big thank you to the female worker who checked us in. I wish I got her name (she grew up in Bern, also worked in Grindelwald previously) she was so friendly, gave us heaps of recommendations, and we felt so welcomed by her. Would definitely stay here again!
