The hotel was extremely convenient for a meeting I was attending at Bern University. It was also very easy to reach from the train station. The room is a good size, with a desk for working. I appreciated that the outlets were compatible with European plugs and not only Swiss ones. Breakfast was convenient and tasty. I also liked the self-serve tea in the lobby in the evenings.

Since the hotel has no staff after 4 pm it was a bit tricky to check myself in. That is a bit stressful when you first arrive and are tired. Most check-ins at hotels happen from 6-10, this could be foreseen. Some colleagues had trouble with their Bern pass login and with no staff at the desk it could not be fixed

The hotel is easy to find, room is always clean, reception guy was very nice and even showed us the map of Bern. Food choices in Frühstuck buffet are good. They gave us a complimentary gift because of our Toilet problem.

We checked in late and we were 2 customers waiting in line to do self check in but apparently having a hard time checking-in because the booking number given thru email and the booking number needed is different. Called several times the other branch knowing that we can just go ahead and get the envelope inside the reception area. We can also hear the noises from above rooms when they move some furnitures.

Staff was just the best!! Julia was absolutely brilliant and gave us so many valuable tips for our Bern exploration! The room was spacious and comfortable and toiletries were from Rituals!!! Breakfast was also amazing, with many options! The hotel also has this gorgeous garden where you can just relax. I definitely recommend!

The only inconvenience for us was car parking space. The hotel was flagged as if it had car parking, but we actually had to park in the street and buy tickets. I think they should update that to avoid surprises .

Everything about the hotel was wonderful! We had plenty of room for our luggage even though the room was small. The staff was so attentive to everything we needed or asked for. It was nice to have a fan in the room for circulation since the hotel had no air conditioning. The breakfast area was constantly filled with food selections and the tables were cleaned and set immediately for other guests. Also, it only took us approximately 10 minutes to walk to the train station which was so convenient since we we stayed there 8 days. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. Finally, they had a pitcher of fresh ice tea available in the afternoon/evening.

My room was well designed, clean and almost everything worked. I slept well and it was quiet even though my room was on the street side of the hotel. The breakfast was very good, the internet and TV both worked well and the location is great for both the main Bern railway station plus exploring the historic centre of Bern, the old town. I would happily return to the Sorell Hotel Arabelle.

I had to move the lamp stand in my room to another location because the electrical outlet was broken. Checking in after 4 PM when the employees had gone home was difficult for non-German speaking guests using the hotel’s automated checkin system. I was fortunate because I was guided by a local man fluent in Swiss German.

Good sized room. Clean. Comfortable bed. Soundproofed.

No one on reception. It is self check in. At the front door you speak on intercom to someone - I do not know where they are. You then check yourself in by typing in a number of pages. This was around 7.30pm - so not late. I spent quite some time trying to find the @ key on the keyboard. I then noticed a "shift control" instruction taped to the desk. Unfortunately, my flight was late, my train was delayed and I was in a real hurry at this point - so my view is probably biased. The hotel is fine - but do not stay there if you want a quick and easy check in when the desk is not manned

The hotel was a great size and comfortable for two people when visiting Bern. Breakfast was a great selection and we really enjoyed it! The computer-based check in was quite unclear for non-German speakers so come prepared - make sure you read your room number before you click next as it ONLY pops up there which can be a little confusing.

The location was great for the area, but a solid 15/20 minute walk from town. You can get the bus and it will only take 2 minutes. Parking is very unclear, and a little pricey - you need to get a ticket from the bus station to park in the blue zones around the area. The lack of people at check in was a little difficult as we didn't understand a few things on check-in and had no one to ask.

Location was 5 min from work so exactly what I needed. Room was quite large and clean. Bed was comfortable.

Nobody for check in (around 6pm). The self check-in was OK but I'm lucky I remembered the room number because it is not written anywhere at the end of check-in and I have no clue how I would have been able to find it Breakfast was not bad but not much choice and nobody to add any missing items. No Swiss channel on TV in French or Italian.

The hotel is situated near the train station, it was clean and the room was spacious with tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast was rich, with different types of milk , cereals and bread. I particularly enjoyed a type of savoury cheese that we don't have in Italy. The machine for coffee prepared delicious foaming cappuccino and you could take more than one if you liked. In the hall, there was always a jar of water with lemon and mint and some apples at customers' disposal When you stay in a hotel in Bern you can have a special code for a free ticket for transports that take you around town. The staff was really helpful and kind. In Bern we visited Paul Klee Zentrum with its futuristic structure by Renzo Piano.

We arrived after 4PM and the do-it-yourself check-in was a little complicated but in the end we could manage. Bern is a wonderful town and it's worth visiting but it's outrageously expensive : I was impressed to see that a small icecream costs the equivalent of 6 euros and a pizza 25 euros. Thanks God we had breakfast included and free tickets on transports!

Friendly staff

In one room we haven't find the codes for the public transports. We had to ask to the staff by telephon because after 4.00 pm the reception is closed. They were very friendly and helpful, but this has caused a significant loss of time. In the other room the codes were handŵritten and we couldn't decipher properly one of them. That could be managed better, I think
