The staff were exceptional, especially Samasundara and we loved meeting & chatting with Lakshmi. They were flexible with our needs and understanding of late notice changes. Great location, just a short walk from Ella station and Ella town. There was a beautiful view from our room, and we felt relaxed immediately. The room was very clean.

Whilst the location is fabulous, it might not be super accessible for those with mobility issues (very steep hill and driveway!).

I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Ella! Perfect location right in the Ella town but on a hill, so it’s silent. Very clean. Views from balcony were great. Comfortable bed and modern bathroom with hot water. Friendly staff. Also dining area is beautiful.

Continental breakfast was ok but nothing special.

Stay was memorable and the location is a plus, it is very close to Ella railway station. But the road to the property is very steep. But the property caretaker Mr.Rashan helped us by hiring tuk tuk from the main road. Mr. Rashan was very helpful throughout the stay.

Great location, comfortable rooms with great views. The owners are so helpful and arranged a great day tour for us. Nothing is too much trouble for them and Breakfast was great. A kettle in the room was nice - just ask if you need to get a hairdryer. A short walk (downhill) to get to the train station.

The property is up a steep hill not an issue for us but just in case - our taxi couldn’t get up the last part.

The owner and staff were super friendly. The room was very clean (towels and sheets as well). Very comfortable bed. Shower was working properly - good pressure and always warm water. Beautiful view from the balcony! We took cooking class and it was very tasty. Good location - close to the center and still quiet. Nothing to complain :)

The place is located on the hill, therefore you need to walk a bit to reach it. We went up and down a few times per day and it was okey, but especially last meters may not be easy for elder people.

Great views from the balcony. Very helpful staff. It’s a bit of a steep climb up the Hotel but if you need to a tuktuk can take you up. Lovely to be just where it is so you get the benefit of easy access to town without being in the middle of it and the fantastic views.

The staff were very warm, friendly and exceptionally helpful. They carried all our bags upstairs and brought us pots of delicious Sri Lankan tea to have on our balcony overlooking the most picturesque view of Ella encircled in mountains. The view from my balcony was sensational - I had room 305 - and 306 has the same view. The breakfast was amazing - the fresh house made coconut roti was delicious.

Lovely comfortable room, hot shower, furnished private balcony, immaculate bedding and towels. Sam and his friendly team looked after us very well. Good location just above the town with views over the railway station and hills. Basic accommodation, excellent value for money.

The last few metres are a very steep climb but manageable and worth it for the views and to be away from the busy main road.

We had the best stay at Lakshmis. In the perfect location - has the most incredible view with all rooms having a balcony, the beds so comfortable, the bathrooms so modern and immaculate and just a walking distance to the Main Street. We spent a whole day just resting at the hotel because we were so comfortable. We did a cooking class and the food served at the restaurant was fantastic. Recommend highly!

Road to hotel very short from main road or train station but last 2 minutes is really really steep like a hill climb if u have heavy luggage or any disorder dont think about walking also there is no Air conditioner in the room only have Air fan
