Breakfast was fine. Location was good because I was going to an aunt's funeral in Meeting House Hill & visiting maternal side relatives. It has been spruced up a bit since I last went & is well furnished.
Sound proofing not perfect but as guests all looked elderly, it didn't translate into much of a problem. Some guests drove me demented at breakfast holding loud banal conversations with one another across their tables within unavoidable earshot but most people like that sort of thing so probably not a problem for other guests.

Are deco type of furniture with historical photographs. A country house type of hotel. I thought the dining and breakfast procedure was quite relaxed. This was in keeping with our stay. You’re given a time to choose for your dinner and breakfast, so 4 slots per hour spread over 3 hours. This helps their chef prepare the food, which was excellent and gives you a relaxed feel to eating. There was no crowding into the dining room and queueing. We liked this. The staff were friendly and polite local people.
Not much to say

Excellent breakfast. Cooked and or choice of fruits, cereals, yogurts and pastries. Very good dining with excellent service. Lovely little appetizers while you wait. Good location to reach coastal resorts and places of interest.
The way that one was informed on how breakfast and dining should be ordered and timed was way too precise and a bit robotic. In reality they are more flexible than they appear. When you are waiting in the ante room and then seated it felt that you were in a 1st class carriage and that conversing with other passengers was discouraged,

The location was excellent for our purpose of being there .It was only five minutes away as to where we needed to be, on that evening. The next mornings it was only ten minutes away to where we needed to be on the Sunday. The staff were all very pleasant too.
The fact that we booked through booking .com for which meant we had to pay for breakfast. Had we booked directly with the hotel we wouldn’t have had to pay for breakfast . Just a small niggle. Which is not with the Hotel but booking .com.ot whoever

I don't really want to speak too highly of The Beechwood as it may be booked up next time we wish to visit!! There was a warm friendly welcome from all the staff from arrival until we left. We dined in the first night with the intention of eating at different places other nights but the food was so good we ate in every night and the breakfast menu was excellent too. The staff in the restaurant were young but extremely polite without being intrusive. Special mention to Rachael, Jess and Tasha and to owners Emma and Hugh for a well run Hotel.
The one small 'critism' was that the dinner menu alternated between 2 choices so if you were staying several days it would get repetitive. However, there were several choices and this was offset by a chef's special menu each day. The dessert menu was the same each evening and there was only a choice between about 6 desserts. A chef's special for desserts would be welcomed.

I never usually write reviews but the staff and owner of this hotel are amazing! So helpful, thoughtful and generous, they really made us feel welcome, including my 7 month old baby who had a high chair at our table before I had even asked. The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are amazing - I had the best nights sleep I’ve had for a very long time! The food in the restaurant was delicious, as was the breakfast. I’d highly recommend it!

The welcome and every single interaction with staff was outstanding. We felt so welcomed and looked after. The room was lovely and had all necessities (plus additional toiletries and excellent coffee/tea etc). We stayed in a small double room but the decor was lovely and suited us well. Breakfast was delicious and there were a range of continental options to go alongside the hot breakfast.
Since it was summer and not a breeze overnight, the room was quite warm. I didn’t ask whether there were fans though so maybe there were. The bed was a little on the soft side and sagged a bit on one side but didn’t affect sleep too much.

Staff were warm and friendly. The waiting staff in the resturant although obviously new (young) had obviously been trained and followed that training. The resturant food was truly excellent (which is what attracted us) the hotel is a bit 'old school' you get a real metal key to your room and the hotel is wonderfully old world but we liked that - lots of character and history
The entrance to our room was 5ft 11' high and I was 6ft and from inside its not so obvious so hit my hide twice before I learnt - literally the hard way!

I thoroughly liked everything about beachwood hotel. From their elegant decor, service, extremely polite and welcoming staff, amazing food and great atmosphere. Not a single fault I can give as I really enjoyed my stay and couldn’t ask for anything better!
Nothing at all. It was amazing and I have no negative feedback whatsoever.

The hotel is clean, well maintained, in a very convenient location and the staff lovely. It is clear that the owners take pride in running Beechwood and we’d not hesitate to use it again.
Our room was very warm because of where it was in the building, however, given our unpredictable weather I understand that installing aircon is not really practical and too costly.
