Staff were very helpful, friendly and chatty, made us feel very welcome. The breakfast choice was vast , the restaurant menu choice was also good and all of the food was delicious 😋 Our room had a nice view overlooking the river, bed was very comfy, towels were changed daily, which doesn't happen in all hotels. The hotel is ideally situated, less than an hour to the coast and only around 25 minutes to the city of Norwich.

The people in the room next to us, one night, talking loudly until 4.45 am !! Banging the door each time they left their room (numerous times between midnight and 6am ) but this was obviously out of the hands of the hotel, unfortunately just bad luck for us.

The staff and the atmosphere were immediately welcoming at Kings Hear. I was unexpectedly in the area due to a family bereavement and hadn’t booked before turning up; they were more than accommodating. Bedroom 1, en suite, was lovely with all necessary amenities. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. I ate in the restaurant and my burger came out a bit too pink for my liking; it wasn’t any bother for them to rectify this by doing me a whole new one! Which I was very grateful for. When I got to my room, after a long and emotional day, the tv wasn’t working (the rooms are newly renovated with new tvs)….a member of staff and a guy (who I presume is a local to the pub) spent some time sorting this out and I was then able to settle….with a complimentary glass of wine for the trouble….and with their efforts being much appreciated. The pub/hotel is in a beautiful spot….right on the broads. Whilst I didn’t have time to enjoy or fully appreciate this, I would have really liked to have walked locally.

The rooms are not sound proofed and the windows appear single glazed - you can hear the bar/restaurant, people outside the pub, other guests on the landing etc, quite clearly. This didn’t actually bother me at all but some people might not like this. Also not all rooms are en suite - again this didn’t bother me as I had an en suite room….but I don’t think I’d have felt as comfortable with room only and no private bathroom. Again, this is personal taste and preference.

excellent find. really great staff. great food and in the summer there's even an outside bar/coffee house. Right next to the river where there is also another pub so you can sit right on the water and have a great afternoon..... Its only about 8 miles away from Norwich city - so it was about 15 mins to get there

This place gets really busy even when its not sunny in terms of parking as people use the car park for walking,fishing ,boating etc so bare that in mind. Well appointed rooms throughout. Some are right on the road side but my colleague said his room was fine. Mine overlooked the car park so it was a bit quieter. Will definitely stay here in future visits

From the minute i checked in to the minute i left it was fantastic, all because of the staff that worked there. friendly, helpful, polite, attentive. the evening meal was great, the atmosphere in the pub was great. the breakfast was fantastic, the staff were so polite and added to my stay, although the breakfast starts at 8am, but it was worth waiting and relaxing longer. great place, great people.Perfect.

Nothing, If breakfast was served at 7am, would of been even better. but there is nothing wrong with this place.

Great location right on the river, dined in the restaurant first of two nights, food and service superb. Staff throughout our stay where amazing, could not do enough for you.

Room had not been cleaned on arrival, was given complimentary drink while we waited and a free cocktail in the evening which made for good customer service. Stayed in room 5 for 2 nights could do with some hooks somewhere to hang wet towels

Beautiful location, welcoming friendly staff Great food Sea bass was perfect, sticky toffee pudding..wow ! Breakfast fantastic! Good selection of spirits and drinks, but a bit pricey.. They had Hawkstone, Clarkson's Lager on draught, very nice, but £7.50 a pint !

Difficulty parking, as there is another pub and there were lots of cars for river activities, which is apparently a regular occurrence in good weather!

All of the food is hand cooked and everything we had was really nice. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Owners have made a wonderful facility for hospitality, accommodation, facility, events and the local population as well as visitors which are made to feel at home as soon as you walk in the grade 2 listed property. So much history and warm feel about the place…..

Lovely friendly pub, room was spotless staff and other customers were very friendly. Great location as well. Best breakfast we have had in years.

Parking issue. There was live music on the Sunday evening and getting back mid afternoon it was impossible to park near the hotel, minor inconvenience, just meant a half mile walk, could be an issue for less mobile guseats

I stayed for 2 nights.The room and en-suit were extremely clean, and the bathroom was large and a lovely surprise (room 1). I wasn't expecting much as rated 3 star, but I was pleasantly surprised.. Although the building was old and the floors were creaky and a bit uneven, the facilities were well maintained. I was a bit dubious the 1st night i arrived at 20.30, It was pitch black, and the pub and restaurant were closed to the point I'd wondered if it was the right place! I had to seek help from the pub next door to get in contact with someone to let me in, that took longer than it should of done, all in all it took an hour waiting around in the cold for someone to let me in, when someone did come it was an awkward exchange and I was told he would be locking up after me. I would have liked to have gone next door relaxed and had a pint. But I felt like this would have been an inconvenience. 2130hrs is a bit early to be locked up. The 2nd night, I arrived back from a day out. Out from 7.30am -5pm, and it was a completely different atmosphere, weĺl lit, warm open fire, beautiful bar, and restaurant with a few revellers sat around laughing and joking, dog friendly. I had an out of this world meal, Lime infused Beer batter Haddock bueatifully presented sat on a track of triple cooked crispy well seasoned thick chips with 3 generous helpings of potted tartar sauce, curry sauce and mint infused mushy peas. I asked for additional bread and butter and was given a bread board of sourdough slices with plenty of butter. I also had a stunning sour cherry and apple crumble and custard for dessert. It was scrumptious, but I couldn't finish it due to the food induced coma that was fast kicking in!!! In 2 days, I saw 2 members of staff, the guy who let me in, and the very polite and accommodating lady that was working the bar and served my meal all in all a high-end rating of the 3 star for accommodation but the food from my experience was high end 4 if not a 5...

The staff were so welcoming, the food was delicious, the cooked breakfast in the morning was fabulous with all quality ingredients. The staff were so accommodating. It was a lovely comfortable triple room, with everything you needed.

Everything was perfect. The tiniest suggestion is a plug socket and little bedside table or shelf next to the single bed, but this is not an issue at all.
