We had such a wonderful stay! From the moment we arrived, Duncan was incredibly friendly, polite, and helpful—he honestly couldn’t do enough to make sure everything was just perfect for us. His warm welcome made us feel right at home straight away. The room itself was spotless, airy, and bright, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was clear a lot of care goes into keeping the place so clean and inviting. Overall, it was a truly enjoyable experience, and we left feeling completely relaxed and well looked after. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend staying here!

It's not the closest hotel to the beach but was close to where we needed to get to.

Upon my arrival, I was met by the owner Duncan. He was very helpful and friendly and carried my suitcase up to my room. The room was extremely clean and was a good size. The bathroom was spotless and also a good size. The bed was comfortable, and the bedding smelled nice and fresh. I work away from home so it is good to find somewhere nice and comfortable to stay. I did not have breakfast as I left early for work. However, you have the option of a continental or cooked breakfast. It is handy as there is a fridge and microwave if you wish to store/heat your food. The area is quiet and there are local shops/restaurants within walking distance. I had everything I needed for my stay and will definitely stay here again. Thank you, Duncan.

Everything was perfect.

The guest house was immaculately clean, and is very well located just 5 or 6 minutes from Boscombe Pier. There is also a shopping centre just up the road with a Boots pharmacy, Costa coffee shop, Sainsbury’s supermarket etc., which is handy. The cooked breakfasts are splendid and copious, cooked with the highest quality ingredients. I enjoyed one veggie English and the continental breakfast the next day - also high quality and filling! Duncan, the owner, tries his utmost to meet guests’ requests - even allowing me to split my breakfast up in two sittings! As a nomadic English teacher, a good internet is important and I had no problem teaching online from the guest house.

Location excellent for the 02 Academy, a lovely atmospheric venue.... Our host Duncan was great- very friendly and helpful, giving us info on local pubs, restaurants, places to visit and public transport. Just don't ask him what he thinks about padel tennis! Very good breakfast and clean tidy room. Parking outside and Duncan was able to accommodate us when we arrived early. The beach was nearby and the Russell Coates Museum is well worth a visit...

A coat rack in the porch would have been handy when we got soaked after a walk!

Duncan Was very welcoming, explaining everything we needed to know about the stay. The Room was very clean, bed very comfy with tea & coffee facilities. I like that Duncan is Very Eco conscious, with recycling Bins for his Guests especially. Continental Breakfast was very good, (the cooked breakfast looked amazing), plenty of cereals & Juices available as well. The Location was brilliant, just a short walk to Boscombe Pier & the sea front. The nearest Bus stop to Bournemouth was also a short walk away.

Duncan was and is a brilliant host as he was supporting my journey before I had arrived at The Westby through text message and even sent me the breakfast option, so I had an opportunity to pick. When I arrived, Duncan explained all the logistics, and that was it. My stay had begun. The whole experience was fantastic, very homely and friendly. Also the location of The Westby was perfect, 10 minutes walk to the Pier and 20 minutes to Kings Park. Absolutely amazing 🎉🎉🎉

Host was very welcoming, engaging and has the perfect personality to want to pay another visit. Perfect location for Boscombe Pier and shops , bus service. Free on street parking in area, a bonus. Plenty of eateries, pubs, music venues. I would thoroughly recommend The Westby, you will not go hungry or thirsty, as you will be well looked after. A genuine warm gentleman, who is doing a great job! Many thanks , Duncan, look forward to staying with you again.

Unfortunately the Great British weather, plenty of showers, but to be expected. Still an enjoyable stay.

I absolutely loved my stay at The Westby! Everything was perfect from start to finish. Breakfast was exceptional – whether you choose continental or a full English, everything is fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. Duncan takes care of absolutely everything and makes sure every detail is just right. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be back!

The location is excellent for access to Boscombe and Bournemouth walking or by bus. The beach is just a few hundred yards away. Huge variety of restaurants along the main street or closer to the coast. Duncan is a knowledgeable and friendly host providing information about the area and a very pleasant stay in his home. Breakfast is comprehensive and fulsome. A great setup to the rest of the day.

A perfect stay in every respect. Excellent location close to the beach and restaurants. We had a large, clean room, delicious and plentiful breakfast and best of all: a wonderful host! Without question 10/10! Thank you Duncan, see you next time!
