Beautiful quiet location within easy walking distance of beach and places to eat. The manor is a pretty building with a lot of history which gives it its charm. The self check in works seamlessly. We didn’t encounter any staff as we didn’t need to so cannot comment or rate that. The bed was one of most comfiest I’ve ever slept on. Such a good nights sleep. This was our 2nd stay at this hotel (first stay was in Lillie’s room, equally stunning room) and would absolutely stay here again.

It’s a very old building, the presidential suite had a beautiful tall stain glass window, the only thing which isn’t even a negative, it’s a nice to have if you can, would be to have some kind of blind to be able to pull down to help shut out the light. Other than that there are worse ways to be woken up by the sun beaming in at 5am and birds singing. The Curtains around the windows are now in need of taking down for a specialist clean. It’s an old building and this kind of thing is inevitable.

What an amazing experience with your hotel! We were upgraded to the King’s Room No. 2 – an absolute treasure. Compared to our previous trip, when we stayed in a smaller room, this one was just magnificent. Lots of space, high ceilings, and the bed – wow! The room was very clean, the bathroom a good size and also spotless. There were plenty of complimentary toiletries, soft towels, and thoughtful extras like bottled water, coffee, chocolate, and mini cakes to brighten your day. The hotel itself is gorgeous, full of history and beautiful pictures. This place deserves more visitors – the lounges alone invite you to sit down with a cup of tea and soak in the atmosphere. If you’re thinking about staying in Bournemouth, it’s definitely worth booking a room at this hotel. Plus, there’s free parking!

The historic character of this place. The King's Room especially was spacious and had a lot of character, antique furniture and a balcony (although facing the parking). Very nice atmospehere if one likes it (although the story of Lilly Langtry and the future King Edward VII visiting her there, has been of course made up, as per Wikipidia).

The bathroom of the King's Room doesn't have a hand-held shower (only a faixed shower, dripping from above, which makes it difficult to wash well). Thre is absolutely no staff in this hotel, which is not a huge problem (doors are code-operated) but one person (or someone to call, who actually answers a phone) would be helpful

Wonderful location, just a short walk from the train station — perfect for anyone travelling by rail. It’s also just a few minutes from a quiet, uncrowded beach, which made the stay even more relaxing. I absolutely loved the hotel, and my room was simply magical. Everything was beautifully presented, and I felt as though I’d stepped into a fairytale for a moment. The freestanding bath in the room and the little balcony were real highlights. The interior design was elegant and full of character, with such tasteful decor throughout. A truly special place — I didn’t want to leave. The breakfast, served at the hotel just across the road, was also excellent — a lovely start to the day

Everything was great

This was our third stay and our third different room. It was very comfortable, with a compact but very modern bathroom. The check-in process has now changed to door codes as the hotel is now unmanned (reception etc is at Derby Manor) but this worked smoothly. The lovely lounge was open, which we hadn’t seen before, with complementary tea and coffee available. The building, once the home of Lilly Langtry, is so beautiful that any stay is a pleasure.

Our bathroom had only a rain forest, overhead shower. I would recommend providing flannels for guests, to assist with washing, where this is the case.

The property was lovely, very clean and comfortable. Great location. Breakfast at the sister hotel across the road was very good.

We have stayed at this hotel several times and have always had a good experience. This time however we were a bit disappointed on arrival. I know in the email that we received it says about the check in time and understand that sometimes the rooms aren’t ready. However, when we’ve arrived early before they have always been accommodating and either let us wait or even let us in if the rooms are ready. This time we were told by one person that the rooms were ready but then refused to be let in by some man who I take it is new? Not very welcoming at all.

Loved the room (king room) amazing, stunning, comfortable. Bed amazing. Jacuzzi bath fabulous but took about 45 minutes to fill as the water was not much more than a trickle. The hotel is full of history and memorabilia. Not usually my thing but this grabbed me. Breakfast was to a reasonable standard. Waitress was very good.

Carpets in room not great. No staff. Coded check in. Bar not open. Everything at sister hotel across the road. This was approximately 100m This meant a trek for breakfast and having to go there if you wanted a drink in the evening. Not good for people with poor mobility, also not good if it’s raining. Ideally you want a drink in the bar at your own hotel.

Lovely traditional hotel, with many artefacts, picture etc dedicated to Lillie Langtry as her former home. Specifically relevant to my partner as she had acted with Francesca Annis in a play about Lillie, and indeed there were pictures on the main wall referring to the play. Very clean, spacious building with two lounges for relaxing. No staff on duty as this was self check in - very easy. Sister hotel across the road was where breakfast was taken, which was very good.

Whilst the place was immaculate, we weren't particularly taken with the larger room that we booked which was at the top of the hotel. The stairs leading to it were steep and the bathroom had a sloping wall which was a little irritating. This is entirely a personal issue and probably our fault for booking one of the largest rooms rather than a more traditional standard room. However, we would definitely stay again.

Staff were all extremely polite, helpful and cheerful. We were upgraded without asking to be after we complained about the shower and towel rail. Food excellent

Lovely hotel with lots of history. Unfortunately it is a little tired and needs some work to put a few things right ( heavy shower fell into bath when my husband was in it and almost knocked him out. Then the towel rail fell off the wall.

There simply wasn't anything to dislike. Excellent correspondence with the Manor staff In regards how to enter. From the moment we stepped into the property, we were surrounded by history. Every room had history. History that had been delicately looked after. The whole hotel inside and out was so clean. Credit to the lovely cleaning ladies. The room we had was warm and comfortable. Exceptionally clean. Plenty of storage. Shower strength was just right and WiFi was very good.

The only thing we would have liked is to perhaps have met reception staff, and hand soap.
