The location was fantastic, close to the water front, the shops and the delightful town. There were loads of opportunity to visit really interesting tourist attractions e.g. castles etc ,loads of opportunity for quite rest and relaxation plus wonderful walks.

The biggest concern for our stay was no real kitchen, kitchen sink, dryer, washing machine etc, but we managed. The lady who serviced our apartment each day was very thorough as we had no kitchen sink she came and collected our dirty dishes daily and restocked us with any food supplies we needed e.g. cereal , fruit , cheese etc. The owner or Manager was on hand to assit with any tricky problems too, a very pleasant person.

Bayview is in an excellent position facing the sea. You walk straight out of the apartment and you’re right on the front. Follow the path up to the monument where the views are amazing, you will pass a lovely little harbour on the way. A self serve breakfast had plenty of choice. 2 small bottles of wine on arrival was a lovely touch which we enjoyed sitting on the balcony enjoying the view. The bed was large, comfortable and had good quality bedding. Quite a large apartment. There’s no parking outside as your on the seafront, we drove the car down the small road and unpacked then parked on the streets free which we were never more than 5 mins away and there was always plenty of spaces. David leaves a map in the room which shows you the free parking streets.

The bathroom was a bit strange it was through a door on to a small corridor but was still private to that apartment. It’s not the biggest bathroom, the shower dominates the room and the sink is extremely small. Good shower, plenty of hot water and toiletries.

It all, location, room, comfy bed, continental breakfast which could be filled up every morning if you ran out of anything.Also lovely touch with wine which went down well by the way couldn't fault anything but most of all the lovely host David who makes you feel so welcome and when we left we felt that he was our friend great down to earth gentleman also great housekeeping staff so we will definitely be back.

Having to go home

Even though the sea front rooms were unavailable, our walk-in courtyard room was absolutely fabulous. Very comfy bed. Clean, cosy warm room with a wonderful oscillating Woozoo fan that I’ve now got on my to buy list. Couldn’t believe how well the fridge was stocked with fresh o.j. milk eggs bread, yoghurt, cheese butter, fruit, water and wine!! Thank you so much David, wine was enjoyed & much appreciated after a long drive. The location was superb, couldn’t get any better, literally 30 second walk from the room to a lovely beachfront walk and 30 second walk to the town square. I couldn’t figure out how to open the key box on arrival for self check in 🫣🤪I rang David,a lovely gentleman who was there in an instant to help. Thank you David, we had a lovely stay & will definitely be back 😊

Nothing - we loved it. Just one tiny thing and irrelevant really, as we didn’t come to watch tv, but it’s on the wrong wall. If you don’t want a sore neck, you have to sit at an angle when in bed to see it , it would’ve been better placed at the foot of the bed, above the settee. As I said irrelevant really.

The room was much bigger than we expected, super comfortable, with the most stunning view of the Bay that one can imagine (I watched a whole sunrise from the bed, it lasted like an hour and was the most magnificent scene). The beach is literally a few steps away. The temperature in the room was perfect and so was the shower. Breakfast was super abundant and complete, I couldnt have asked for anything more. And David was the most gracious host, always ready to recommend a place for dinner or get us anything we needed (including an adapter that we had forgotten to bring). The town itself is a coastal jewel, full of charm, with the warmest people, and the nearby Dunnotar Castle and Woods are mindblowing. What else can I say? It was our first taste of Scotland and we loved it.

Fantastic place, we are absolutely in love 🥰 Excellent location - right on the seaside. Room was very clean and comfortable, everything you need is there: hairdryer, shampoo, hair conditioner, shower gel, hand wash. Everything for breakfast was in the fridge, and we had breakfast in our room. Breakfast was delicious, we were very surprised by the quantity and variety of food. This hotel is ideal for romantic weekend or holidays. Many thanks to David for his hospitality. We will definitely come back! Paul and Aliyya

Comfortable bed, excellent breakfast provisions (loads!!), well fitted out with crockery and cutlery and especially liked having a fridge. Good location.

Not the end of the world but parking wasn’t great for our room. There are a couple of parks at the property reserved for the penthouse/sea view rooms but not for the Courtyard Room, which we were aware of. However, there was also no available free off street parking anywhere near the property at any point (while we were awake anyway!). There is a pay and display car park up the lane and across the road from the accommodation which we used but we forgot to get a new ticket at 8.00am so lucky to not get in trouble!

I stayed in the Courtyard a nice self contained flat, it had everything you could want and more. There was a selection of cereal, yogurts, pastries. Milk, Orange Juice, water and selection of fresh fruit. All you would need for a light breakfast. There was also wine red and white. The flat had a super comfy bed and a little sofa. There was also a dining set and chest of drawers. It is right next to the beach possibly 30 steps away and near the main street where there's shops, takeaways, cafes. Great shower and toilet, tiled throughout. David the host surprised me with a card and a bottle of fizz on Christmas Day and I could tell he goes above and beyond for his guests..thank you so much for your kind gift.

The only real thing that would make this outstanding is perhaps some thicker curtains to make it dark at bedtime.

We stayed in the ground floor room without a sea view, however for a 2 night stay it was perfect. Communication with the host was clear and timely. The room and shower room were more than adequate and the bed so comfortable. As mentioned by so many other guests the stocked fridge was a delight. The location is fabulous, Stonehaven exceeded our expectations and I wish we could have stayed longer. I would highly recommend this apartment and hope very much to return.

There was nothing to dislike!

The location of the room was great and the kitchen area was very generously stocked with breakfast items and wine.

The bathroom situation although private was not 'en suite', it was through a glass door off the room which felt a little disconcerting even though I had exclusive access. The bathroom also had a sliding door which was heavy and stiff and very hard to manage. Also because of the nature of the town, parking is not available immediately beside the room and one must use the pay and display car park nearby, it's just annoying shuttling luggage to and fro in the rain.
