The location of this hotel is ideal for the city centre and minutes from the train station. Been through a well done, lovely refurbishment, giving a modern feel but in keeping with the traditional style of the hotel.

Minor dislike is that room was quite warm and no ability to to adjust other than opening window, which resulted in lots of noise from traffic and seagulls 😞 earplugs are kindly provided but personally don't like using these. Also, would love if Scottish hotels would provide traditional 'lorne' sausage as an option for breakfast, as much prefer these to the herby link sausages always provided.

Hotel exceeded expectations, certainly for the price a night paid (65GBP including breakfast). We came in by ferry, left by rail, and used the bus inbetween. All major means of transportation within a couple of steps from the Station Hotel. Room was very spacious and a decent bed. Sound proofing was good, room upkeep and furniture was good. Loved the big rainshower in the bathroom after a long day in the city. Cleanliness was good. Breakfast was excellent.

No storage for toiletries in the bathroom. Very little daylight in the room, as there was only a little window in a corner near the ceiling.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Duty manager from Estonia, sorry, can't remember name , was mist helpful re few issues with room. She sorted out an alternative family room which was better and helped us transport our luggage. Also offered complimentary breakfast which was excellent and plenty of .

Toilet in first room did not flush properly in arrival. Feel thus should have been checked before room was passed for inspection. Eventually the handle came off and had no toilet facilities atall!! 🙈 Advised there were no maintenance staff to sort as did not work at weekends! Disappointed as this was a special family occasion. Advised initially no other room vacant. Felt without working toilet facility that this was a health hazard ..Disappointment being we were staying for two nights. However the problem was sorted fairly quickly. Upgraded to new room. 👍

The hotel itself was lovely and we would definitly stay again. Nice rooms. Lovely staff. However the one thing that really let things down was the breakfast. The selection is small. The trays are tiny, if there is a queue by the time your at the front it's all empty again. The hot water for the tea machine takes forever to fill 1 cup so everyone's waiting for it.. Had to keep asking for glasses/mugs/more food to come out because as soon as a tiny tray came out so many people were waiting it was gone in seconds and the stuff that was out was cold and mushy. I've stayed in lots of hotels and this hotel itself is a great location and lovely, however I wpuldnt book breakfast again I'd go elsewhere. Especially when Hotels like crown plaza food is what makes you want to rebook! If the breakfast had an overhaul it would be a brilliant hotel all round as other than this it was great.

This hotel has obviously had good and bad times in the past but is being refurbished and it is full of history. Its a lovely hotel with very friendly staff and has good facilities, the evening meal i had was excellent and the breakfasts are adequate. The location is brilliant, opposite Union Square shopping mall and the station , good access to the 'Granite City' I really enjoyed my two days there, the hotel is warm and the shower in the bathroom is fierce and exhilarating!

I had a smallish room , perfect size for me, but the light location in the room meant that the desk on the other side of the room wasnt lit, if i didnt have a lit keyboard i would have been able to type for work ! The only other thing that wasnt perfect was the hot breakfast buffet which wasnt that hot actually . But the spread of food was very good .

Staff could not do enough to help. Very welcoming and obliging. We had an issue with our room which was immediately rectified by moving us to another room with an upgrade to apologise for the inconvenience. Food in the restaurant was all fresh and absolutely delicious. Breakfast was delicious too and very good value for money. The location is also absolutely fantastic, right smack in the middle of town, literally not even a minutes walk from the Train and Bus station.

The Bathrooms are quite cold. Could do with a heated towel rail or a small wall radiator/heater just to take the edge off, but I am aware that this is a big ask and maybe not the easiest thing to implement since its costly to do.

Was visiting for SPECTRA and the station hotel was perfect The reception and bar/restaurant areas were beautiful Didn"t have breakfast or a meal as chose to eat out Was in room 112,which stands alone at the back of the hotel It was huge,with a very comfy double bed Huge bathroom and wardrobe.the shower was old,but very powerful with hot water There was even earplugs to help with the noise of the traffic outside Bit dated,but prefer the old style,it adds to the hotels charm Beautiful staircase..and of course very quiet

There was only one radiator by the window,so the other side of the room got cold quickly

My 1st night was in a premium room (i got it as a Christmas present from my wife) I liked it that much I booked a 2nd night. Plus I liked the location to the bus station and train station ( I suppose the clue is in the name ) I liked the high tea choices and price for what you got was amazing. The staff where friendly and helpful and able to store luggage as a bit early too check in. Plus handy having a large lift.

The only problem I had was the 2nd night's booking was for a room with a bath so went for standard room. The room was far too hot and not able to control the temperature. And couldn't open windows. Room showing its age and windows rattled when buses or lorries passed. Apart from that it was a good room for what I paid.

The hotel is beautiful especially the back stairs the wood and stain glass windows are stunning . The rooms are a high standard and so comfortable. But the most truly wonderful thing about this hotel is the staff they are sweet ,helpful and just a real credit to the company/owners they always treat me like a special guest I will stay no where else other than this hotel ! It is an incredible location and always guaranteed a beautiful room ,incredible breakfast and selection on offer but for the staff Thank you for another lovely stay

Perfect location, right across from union square which hosts the railway & bus stations as well as plenty places to eat. very close to union street and nightlife. Round the corner from a lovely park, plenty food shops, cafes etc dotted around. It was perfect for my needs. Parking was difficult but there is no need for a car as i barely used it and did most of my sight seeing on foot. The hotel does have some parking but I used Just Park this was based under Trinity flyover at the back of the hotel this secured a parking space for the duration I was there. Breakfast was plentiful and self service worth filling up in the morning for the day.
